Declaration of War

After messing around and remembered how boring OU was, I returned back to my confort zone which is UU. I tested quite a lot of things, but in the end, this is what I had the most fun playing with. This team is far from being perfect though, and my defensive cores seems to change a lot trying to find a good check for every big threats.

Without further boring stuff, here is the team.

The defensive core of Gligar-Snorlax-Roserade is pretty good and holds most of the big threats checked (while at the same time, not really. That's why you guys are here ;p). The offensive core has good synergy overall as well.

Mew @ Lum Berry
Synchronize
EVs 252atk/4sdef/252spd OR 252spA/4sdef/252spd
Jolly (+spd/-spa) OR Timid (+spd/-atk)
-Psyshock OR Sucker Punch
-Aura Sphere OR Drain Punch
-Shadow Ball OR Zen Headbutt
-Nasty Plot OR Swords Dance

As you can see, I run two different Mews. What I run depend entirely on my current mood and this is what I like about it; unpredictable. The NP version hits a lot of things hard and is probably the most effective, but the SD version also does a good job of staying alive while dishing out damage, although both needs entry hazard support to be able to sweep and I always appreciate paralysis to make sure I hit first. Lum Berry helps a lot when I need to set up on a wall, and most of the time my Synchronize ability helps against those pokes (Plus, I can use it twice). Mew is also pretty bulky overall, so getting a NP or a SD up is pretty easy.

Gligar @ Eviolite
Immunity
EVs: 252hp/4atk/252def
Impish (+def/-spa)
-Earthquake
-U-turn
-Stealth Rock
-Roost

The best Heracross check of UU. Gligar is also one of the most tanky SOB with eviolite. He can take a ton of punishment and is also immune to poison due to his ability. The only problem though, is that he can hardly resist Choice banded powerhouses like Victini, Azumarill or Darmanitan, getting 2HKO by them almost guaranteed. Otherwise though, amazing poke that does a lot of work. Earthquake is his STAB, U-Turn keeps the momentum, Stealth Rock because entry hazards are incredibly important and roost to keep him healthy, considering he has no other way of recovery.

Changes: Something that can check heracross and also all 3 named above. Slowbro comes to mind but doesn't wall Heracross as well as he should.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
EVs: 208hp/124def/176sdef
Careful (+sdef/-spa)
-Body Slam
-Whirlwind
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

Pretty standard set. It is the best chandelure check (Although this set doesn't pack Pursuit) and also a great spdef wall in general. His weaknesses are easily covered by gligar and he also cover his's nicely due to thick fat. Body Slam because I love paralysing stuff, Whirlwind works well with Roserade and Gligar setting up entry hazards and preventing pokes from setting up on you, rest+sleeptalk to keep you alive and make you a status sponge.

Changes: Empoleon looks good too.

407f.gif

Roserade @ Black Sludge
Natural Cure
EVs: 252hp/120def/136sdef
Calm (+sdef/-atk)
-Giga Drain
-Toxic
-Rest
-Spikes

Another good synergy with Snorlax and Gligar. Roserade also loves to treaten Blastoise and set up spikes all over his face. Rapid Spin? Watch out, toxic and giga drain hurt. Otherwise, Roserade has a good special bulk, speed, and special atk allowing to keep being a treat. Also a great status sponge due to natural cure. Giga Drain is the STAB of choice, allowing roserade to hit hard while keeping her alive. Toxic works well against Blastoise or any Rose counter that are going to switch in, except Bronzong and other steels. Rest with natural cure and Spikes.

Changes: None, really. She does amazing work. Perhaps Sleep Powder over Toxic to be annoying.

Zoroark @ Life Orb
Illusion
EVs: 252spa/4sdef/252spd
Timid (+spd/-atk)
-Dark Pulse
-Flamethrower
-Grass Knot
-Nasty Plot

I like this guy. He works great with Heracross, being able to lure his checks quite nicely and hitting them hard with a SE move. Swampert, Slowbro and Rhyperior are OHKO by grass knot (Surprise, motherf*cker!), Flamethrower takes care of Bronzong and Roserade, Nasty plot is great when people switch the supposed check to heracross. His great speed allows him to sweep quite easily once the scarfers are dealt with and I just love his mindgames. He also is neutral to SRs, same as Heracross, making sure the disguise is not easily broken.

Changes: I wanna try to get Focus Miss in. Probably replacing flamethrower, to deal with Snorlax and good coverage with Dark Pulse in general... but I hate Focus Miss, and Bronzong is already a problem to this team. Chandelure might also be able to replace Zoroark. Perhaps just get rid of NP? I dunno, Choice specs would help keep the disguise as long as possible I guess.

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Moxie
EVs: 252atk/4sdef/252spd
Jolly (+spd/-spa)
-Close Combat
-Megahorn
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

Good old Heracross. The slaughterer of UU. Not having any checks to this guy reduce your chances of victories by a lot. STILL, Hera is still quite slow and there are a lot of checks to him in UU as well. Moxie Hera is usually the most popular one with a Scarf and people might try to capitalise on that (My team doesn't hide the fact that Hera might be the Scarfer). His moveset is able to cover by hitting 12 types super effectively, and the rest can be hit for normal damage. No matter the poke, Hera has a move to hit it.

Changes: Arcanine, to try and 'check' choice banded Victini and Darmanitan's respective Fire STAB.

Conclusion

The cons that i see:
-Not a lot of status inducers.
-No steel types
-No rapid spinner
-One crit on Gligar and it's pretty much over.
-Choice Banded Victini, Darmanitan, Honchkrow and Azumarill can pierce through Gligar's defences, especially with SR up.
-Bronzong is a though wall to pierce.
-No Priority (except when I have my SD mew)

That's about it. As much as I love the pokes in this team, it is hard to say that they can work that effectively considering that a few pokes can wreck havok, so I'd love any help I can get to make it stronger.

Hi! This is a nice team, U-turn on Gligar works well since it's possible the biggest loss in momentum on your team (even Snorlax makes up for it by not being setup bait).
I have some suggestions to make your team more solid, first off you should change Rosey's spread to 248 HP / 248 SpD / 12 Spe, to outpace other defensive Roseys. Since Sleep Powder is illegal with Spikes, you could try Sludge Bomb over Toxic to have an alternate attack and possibly poison something, while also allowing you to hit opposing Grass-types. You don't really need the physical defense investment, iirc 120 Def makes Stone Edge from Jolly Hera not 2HKO you after SR, which is kinda moot considering Megahorn does much more due to STAB.
I personally don't like RestTalk Snorlax, I'd rather use Offensive with Lefties or Curse+3 attacks. Anyway, if you prefer RestTalk, you should change the EVs to 208 HP / 204 Def / 96 SpD Careful, to always survive 2 CB Victini's V-Creates after SR and Lefties. If you struggle with physical Fire-types, then you should definitely use Curse+3 attacks, with an offensive spread of 80 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Def / 100 SpD Adamant to survive 2 Flare Blitzes from Adamant Scarf Darm before the boost. At +1 Def, it will always beat Azumarill that lack Superpower, which is a definite plus. You can try a more defensive approach to CurseLax, but this guarantees that nothing will set up on you, while other sets are easier to deal with.
I think you should run SpecsZoro with Trick, I've run it with Hera and it's really amazing at luring Gligar, CoFAGrigus, DuscLOLps and the lesser used Golurk. The most effective way of using it is to switch it on things that Hera forces out, of course, but since it struggles to beat special walls even after a boost, Specs is preferred to open up the path for Hera to sweep.

So, to summarize:
Roserade: 248 HP / 248 SpD / 12 Spe Calm -- Sludge Bomb > Toxic
Snorlax: RestTalk --> CurseLax -- 80 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Def / 100 SpD Adamant -- Curse / Body Slam / Earthquake / Crunch (Pursuit)
Zoroark: Nasty Plot --> Choice Specs -- Dark Pulse / Flamethrower / Grass Knot (Hidden Power [Ice]) / Trick

Good luck!

I've tested banded Snorlax before this one and it worked well except that no recovery on snorlax was annoying. I'll try the curse set.

I switch between Sludge bomb and Toxic quite often, I just feel like I don't have enough status inducer on my team, and blastoise really hates fighting my Rose. I'll probably switch back to 248sdef though.

and yeah, I'm testing specs zoro right now.

Thanks for the help! I'll test it out and give more feedback, in the meantime if anyone as any other ideas feel free to help me out!

Alright, after testing I had to drop Mew. Even after a swords dance or NP he can't really OHKO anything with neutral damage, and is outsped (and revenged) by a lot. Lum berry is useful, but they can just cast it again while I struggle to kill them. I am looking for a good replacement. For now, I am using a Rain Dancing Kingdra with a Special set and a physical one.

I will also try SD Cobalion, and some form of special one too.

Curselax is doing good. I haven't swept many teams with him yet due to the astounding amount of fighting pokes around here though. Specs Zoroark is doing much better, and Roserade hasn't changed at all.
