[OVERVIEW]
Although looks can be deceptive, in the case of this PU Pokemon it is exactly as threatening as it looks. Dedenne is a thoroughly terrible Pokemon in the PU metagame and cannot find itself a niche, being eclipsed by the likes of Zebstrika and Raichu, which are both faster and more powerful. It can use its ability Cheek Pouch to find decent success with a SubPetaya set, but is unrecommended and generally a poor use of a teamslot.
[SET]
name: Kingler12345 is bad (placeholder)
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Recycle
move 3: Thunderbolt
move 4: Grass Knot
item: Petaya Berry
ability: Cheek Pouch
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
Using Substitute in conjunction with Petaya Berry allows Dedenne to obtain a Special Attack boost reliably in order to try and damage the opposing team. Recycle allows Dedenne to repeat its shenanigans multiple times due to Cheek Pouch recovery. Thunderbolt is its best STAB attack, hitting most of the PU metagame. Grass Knot provides coverage on Piloswine in order to wear it down.
Set Details
========
Dedenne does not get much use from investment in bulk, hence it is fully invested in Special Attack and Speed. Cheek Pouch allows Dedenne to regain health on consuming Petaya.
Usage Tips
========
Dedenne can manage to put up a fight against Fighting-types such as Machoke and Scraggy while threatening Pelipper. You're realistically not getting much use out of this so try to screw up less on your other 5 slots.
Team Options
========
Dedenne offers little to no defensive synergy on a team and does not provide much in the way of offensive prowess as well, so Pokemon such as Roselia and Piloswine that can cover a large portion of the metagame are recommended.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
There are other equally useless options that Dedenne can use.
Checks and Counters
===================
Pokemon such as Roselia, Piloswine, and Tangela resist the moves on this set or do not take too much damage from Dedenne's coverage. Nearly any Pokemon barring those that are Electric-weak can switch in on Dedenne or beat it one-on-one.
