[SET COMMENTS]
With amazing stats, strong attacks and utility moves, and a useful defensive typing, Eternatus can be the cornerstone of a difficult-to-break defensive team without entirely sacrificing all of a team's offensive presence. Even uninvested, base 145 Special Attack provides meaningful damage when paired with STAB moves. Toxic Spikes provide advantage to Eternatus's team, while Recover allows it to extend its longevity significantly. The EVs maximize Eternatus's to move ahead of most Pokemon without a Speed donation, with HP maximized aside avoiding problems with Stealth Rock after a Knock Off, allowing it to reliably take hits on both sides of the damage binary without necessarily specializing in one or the other. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack to increase damage ever so slightly. Heavy-Duty Boots and Ghost serve much of the same defensive purpose, with the former allowing it to reliably switch in and out without worrying about hazards and the latter allowing it to change its defensive profile and prevent Rapid Spin from removing its Toxic Spikes.

Eternatus should be placed in the Attack slot and paired with Pokemon who can enable a more defensive playstyle while retaining one or two options for more aggressive plays. With highest stats in HP and Speed, Pokemon like Zamazenta and Hydrapple respectively can contribute to a strong defensive core while also retaining some amount of offensive pressure. Base 95 in both defensive stats is not enough to enable a Pokemon's primary strategy, so is best used to shore up a weaker stat, such as Hoopa-U in Defense or Great Tusk in Special Defense. Pokemon that can get Eternatus in safely via pivoting, such as Rotom-W or Pecharunt, reduces the amount that Eternatus needs to heal throughout the game, while Gholdengo can serve to keep Toxic Spikes up on a more permanent basis. Finally, Steel-types serve as a major roadblock to Eternatus dealing damage, so teammates like both Landorus or Urshifu formes can provide additional damage output while covering that deficiency.
