Landorus-T is an amazing defensive measure against revenge killers such as Zamazenta, Mega Scizor, and offensive Garchomp; it can also provide utility with entry hazards and status. U-turn allows Landorus-T to safely pivot into wallbreakers such as Urshifu-R, Tapu Lele, and Dragapult, as well as other defensive pivots like Tornadus-T and Rotom-W. Toxic cripples switch-ins such as Great Tusk, Tornadus-T, and Rotom-W. Alternatively, Hidden Power Fire can be used over Toxic to critically hit Mega Scizor, Kartana, and Ferrothorn, which can exploit Landorus-T with a free turn to set up hazards or set up with Swords Dance. Landorus-T can also forgo setting entry hazards and instead clear them with Defog. Rocky Helmet is the preferred item for Landorus-T to punish physical attackers such as Mega Lopunny and Kartana; however, if it decides to opt for Defog, then Leftovers is preferred for reliable passive recovery. Tera Water turns Landorus-T's most common weaknesses into resistances, which helps against moves such as Weavile's Triple Axel and Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes. It is most efficient to Tera when Landorus-T's counters use a move against it rather than on a switch. Defensive Landorus-T fits extremely well on balance and bulky offense teams. Wallbreakers such as Iron Valiant, Tapu Lele, and Volcarona all appreciate the utility and pivot support that Landorus-T provides with U-turn. Being heavily threatened by Pokemon like Weavile, Mega Medicham, and Dragapult makes partners like Heatran, Gholdengo, and Ferrothorn solid to use alongside it.
