Lunala's natural bulk, ghost typing, and ability Shadow Shield in conjunction with Calm Mind allow for it to become a solid mixed wall set-up sweeper. Moongiest Beam is mandatory, as it is Lunala's strongest STAB option and ignores abilities. This is important for Garganacl's Purifying Salt and Dragonite's Multiscale. Moonlight gives Lunala reliable recovery, and helps re-establish Shadow Shield. Ice Beam is the preferred secondary move, as it hits Great Tusk, Dragonite, Raging Bolt, Eternatus, Hippowdon, and Groudon for super effective damage. Moonblast is used to mid ground more options, and gives Lunala the strong Fairy Ghost coverage, which is an unresisted type combination. Heavy-Duty Boots allows for Lunala to not break Shadow Shield when hazards are up, and not require as strong of hazard control support. Alternatively, Covet Cloak lets Lunala check Garganacl even better, and use mono Salt Cure as setup fodder.
