This team has a lot of my favorite pokemon from this gen so I'm not sure how good it is. Any help is appreciated. The idea of the team is to be able to switch into practically anything and take it out. However, this team can't out-speed many things and doesn't have much priority moves.
Meowscarada @ Choice Band
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flower Trick
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch
Meowscarada is normally what I lead with, on lucky matchups it will always get a kill and even bad ones can be escaped using u-turn. I find it to be surprisingly good at taking hits and can be relied on to switch in on pokemon with average attack stats. For the moves, flower trick was an obvious choice as it is one of the best moves in the new gen. Knock off because it is it's only dark move besides sucker punch. Sucker punch is the only priority I have on the team and is able to reliably finish off low hp pokemon. U-turn for a pivot move and it always deals more damage than expected. The tera type is grass in-case you ever need your flower trick to hit a little harder.
Skeledirge @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Torch Song
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Slack Off
Skeledirge is my favorite pokemon in this gen, it struggles against special attackers but it absolutely walls any physical attacker. I have switched into roaring moons in the sun with dragon dances up and they can do absolutely nothing. Will-O-Wisp combined with unaware and maxed defence/hp makes it a nightmare for any physical sweepers, especially ones that rely on setup. I prefer torch-song over flamethrower because of it's utility, the spa boost makes it a threat to pokemon switching in and bypassing substitute reduces the effectiveness of a cyclizar. Hex combos well with glimmora and will-o-wisp which is why I chose it over a more traditional move. If you play this team right hardly anything won't be statused. I wasn't sure what tera type to use as I wouldn't normally tera him.
Glimmora @ Black Sludge
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Mortal Spin
Glimmora is glimmora, I normally don't start with it but if a physical attacker is in it is a good switch. Toxic is in there for pokemon like dondozo other other tanks my team could otherwise struggle against. mortal spin is my only hazard clearing move on the team, so it is best to try and keep glimmora alive. Earth power and stealth rock are just some standard moves glimmora needs.
Gholdengo @ Leftovers
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Recover
- Nasty Plot
Gholdengo is my solution to any status reliant pokemon like toxapex or amoongus, good as gold is a pretty broken ability. I use a ghost tera type so I can avoid ohkos from ground moves and still boost my attacks. Shadow ball is a stab ghost move, I chose it over hex unlike my skeledirge because I face less statused pokemon with Gholengo. Make it Rain is one of the best moves in the generation as well as one of the best steel moves in the game.
Quaquaval @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 92 SpD / 164 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Step
- Close Combat
- Bulk Up
- Roost
Quaquaval is included for some type coverage, as well as some pretty broken abilities. I tera type fairy to avoid ohkos from fairy, grass, and electric moves. Moxie is a pretty broken ability especially when combined with a broken move like aqua step. In the right situations it sets up what is essentially a damaging dragon dance. Roost, leftovers, and bulk up make this a nightmare for anything that takes multiple hits to kill this thing.
This team struggles against electric types, which thankfully aren't very prevalent in the meta. One of the bigger threats is rotom-wash, but it can be handled well with meowscarda.
