Hello one and all! This team started out as a burning desire to bring back magnezone and the infamous DragMag combo of 4th and 5th gen into competitive play again. It may sound like a gimmick incorporating 3 Mini-Cores into one team, but it ensures that you are always prepared for most situations.

In depth:
Deo (Deoxys-Defense) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 140 Def / 116 Spd
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Recover
- Taunt
The ev spread is to outspeed gliscor who usually runs 75 evs, (to taunt it). Standard hazard setter that pairs well with Bisharp obviously (Defiant). I chose recover over other moves such as knock off so that after forcing switches my health will allow deoxys d to act as a mid game wall rather than a suicide setter with Mental Herb.
Sharp (Bisharp) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
The bane of many teams in Ou right now, he destoys your items, he deters defogs, he eats children and has one of the most powerful priority moves in the game. Needless to say that the dark type buff has put at least one of my beloved dark types into Ou. Swords dance is for mind games and predicted switches (although most times you will knock of on the switch). Bisharp doesn't run jolly well because this way he's terrifying and doesn't commonly need to outspeed many things as long as sucker punch has pp.
Drag (Kyurem-Black) @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost
- Substitute
Now then, I hear you ask why not Scarf, Band, Max speed or Ice Beam? Heres why. Kyurem black behind a Sub with its godly dragon/ice typing and its massive bulk and attack is unheard of in a pokemon. 125 hp and 170 atk, whoever will not abuse this is surely a fool! SubRoost, regain LO and Rocks damage, LO puts enormous power into STAB dragon claw which 2HKO's quagsire after rocks: 252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Outrage vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 274-324 (69.5 - 82.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery.
Not to mention he is the ultimate rotom wash counter with sub avoiding will o wisp and dragon claw:
252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Dragon Claw vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Rotom-W: 173-204 (56.9 - 67.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery.
Oh and did i mention that because of his bulk Talonflame does only this much:
252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kyurem-B: 235-277 (59.9 - 70.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock. And after the Fiery menace fires off its BB it dies to any move that kyurem has. But the beauty of this set it is causing all the inherent shuffling it does with all of the hazards i am able to set up due to DeoSharp.
Often a late game cleaner or mid game wallbreaker Kyurem Black is back!
Mag (Magnezone) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon
Risen from the purgatory that is BL, Specs Magnezone rounds of the second Mini-Core of DragMag. What usually happens is i lead with Manectric or Lando t, and the Rocky helmet/resist is all too tempting for many opponents with steel types and just like that Magnezone demolishes the trash that the king Kyurem Black would never dare to touch! (Check out the replays of Specs Magnezone putting in work). Magnezone does however make me quite weak to EQ and Fire moves but these are usually dealt with by Kyurem or the double intimidate VoltTurn Mini-core. Magnezone OHKO's non spec def ferrothorns, scizors and skarmories and the Ferro's that are specially defensive have a 56.3% to die after rocks in one hit.
Volt (Manectric) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
Possibly my favourite mega of this generation bar Mega Houndoom, Manectric has gained a HUGE Spatk and Speed buff that puts Jolteon to shame. Volt Switch for momentum and part of the VoltTurn core, Overheat to OHKO Mega Mawile (since you'll volt switch after this the -2 is worth the KOs it grants on common fire weak pokemon). Hp ice, to round of the pseudo BoltBeam coverage and is always handy for taking out Gliscors. After a few switches in with lando t and this guy their physical attackers can do nothing except hope for a crit.
Turn (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
My main lead and physical wall to round of the final Mini-core, un-invested EdgeQuake combo off a 145Atk stat still is nothing to be laughed at. Landorous t is pretty much my go to physical wall and is really nice with Manectric (Obvs) for the double intimidate. Its hilarious how many Gliscors come in on this thing and get knocked off before their orbs activate rendering them useless. Nevertheless Lando t has earned a place in Ou and on my team because of its unique typing and immunity to ground and ability to weaken physical threats to either Bisharp or Kyurem Black.
Final words: This is by far a very fun team to use and has climbed the ladder pretty fast however my ranking is getting pretty stagnant and the teams flaws are starting to show more and more. Hence I would love to hear your thoughts on this team!
Notable Replays: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-129187159 , http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-129496438 (more will be uploaded as and when I get feel the need)
Importable: Not sure how to do the show hide thingy any tips?
