Didn't see a thread for this pokemon so figured i would start one, because the way I see it it's ability to check the new uber's metagame has increased dramatically.

Let's start with the stats:

Deoxys Attack:
HP: 50
Atk: 180
Def: 20
SpA: 180
SpD: 20
Spe: 150

Ability: Pressure

Notable Moves:
Psycho Boost
Knock Off
Superpower
Extremespeed
Ice Beam
Poison Jab
Stealth Rocks
Taunt
Spikes

Sample Sets:

One Hit Wonder
Deoxys-A @ focus sash
252atk 4SpA 252spe
Naughty/Lonely or Naive/Hasty
-Psycho Boost
-Superpower
-Extremespeed
-Knock Off/Ice beam/Stealth Rocks

This set is in my opinion the best set for this mon and why i think it is capable of making a comeback. with 180/180/150 offenses Deoxys is no joke and can put a dent in almost any mon in ubers. Psycho Boost and Superpower are essential, since with max attack this lets Deoxys 2HKO both primals after stealth rocks, assuming they don't have any significant bulk investment other than HP. I prefer the plus attack natures to the plus speed ones since the extra power makes i even harder for your opponent to switch in, but the plus speed nature does allow it to outspeed naughty scarf zekrom, and only needs 184 speed EVs to do it. Other than that the plus speed nature doesn't do a lot for it.

But anyways, lets look at some calcs

  • 252+ atk Deoxays A Superpower vs. 252HP/0def Primal Kyogre = 49.7 - 58.6%
  • 4SpA Deoxys A Psycho Boost vs. 252HP/0SpD Primal Kyogre = 41.8 - 49.2%
  • Superpower + Psycho Boost = minimum 101.5% = guaranteed 2HKO on 252/0/0 Primal Kyogre w/o SR
  • 252+ atk Deoxys A Superpower vs. 252HP/0def Primal Groudon = 30.1 - 35.6%
  • 4SpA Deoxys A Psycho Boost vs 252/0SpD Primal Kyogre = 68.5 - 80.9%
  • Superpower + Psycho Boost = minimum 98.5% = guaranteed 2HKO on 252/0/0 Primal Groudon w/ SR
With knock off, Deoxys also acts as a great counter to the semi-common lead and very common team member that is xerneas. They usually run either power herb or choice scarf. Against the former, a knock off forces a two turn geomancy, which allows for a follow up psycho boost + extremespeed kill which keeps your focus sash intact, or a 3 extremespeed kill which requires the use of the focus sash but doesn't risk the psycho boost miss. For scarf, they will outspeed and knock you down to sash, but will then lose the scarf to a knock off and will take a huge chunk from psycho boost.

Suicide Lead
Deoxys-A @ focus sash
Naive/Hasty
216atk 40SpA 252spe
-Stealth Rocks
-Psycho Boost/Extremespeed
-Knock Off/Poison Jab/Taunt
-Taunt/Spikes/Poison Jab

A pretty standard suicide lead. Stealth rocks followed either spikes, extremespeed, or psycho boost. The one thing i would like to add as a possibility to the standard option is that if your team is weak to geomancy Xerneas (and lets face it chances are it is) then poison jab can act as a semi-counter to it with 216 attack EVs and a neutral nature
  • 216 atk Deoxys A poison jab vs. 252HP/4Def Xerneas = 50 - 59.2% -- guaranteed 2HKO

Checks:
Set up stealth rocks and then use priority, or use priority twice if you don't mind missing half your HP. Extremespeed from rayquaza or genesect works great, as does mega kang, and it's also notable that no matter how much speed you give it deoxys attack will never outspeed the standard scarf genesect. One more possible counter is a lead sash mamoswine with icicle spear to break the focus sash.

This is my first thread like this so feel free to let me know what you thought about the formatting and sets as a whole, or if you have anything to add! I know i didn't cover everything and that's partly what the comments are for.

You should always be running a Naive nature and 252 Special Attack EVs on Deoxys-Attack as with that you can blow up everything with Psycho Boost, as a point of reference Psycho Boost will do 90% to Primal Groudon even without a Life Orb. Full Special Attack investment also means that Ice Beam will KO offensive Yveltal after Stealth Rock I believe. Poison Jab is unviable. Your two sets should be:

Sash Lead
Deoxys-A @ focus sash
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Psycho Boost
- Superpower / Knock Off
- Extremespeed
- Stealth Rock

Knock Off + Extremespeed lets Deoxys-A antilead Deoxys-S quite nicely, whilst Superpower works against Dialga. You can potentially use Focus Sash + 4 Attacks but this does not work as a lead and it is extremely hard to pull off seeing as it is essential to keep hazards off the field, and also means that you need to run Stealth Rock on something else.

Life Orb
Deoxys-A @ Life Orb
Naive Nature
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Psycho Boost
- Extremespeed
- Superpower
- Ice Beam

Other options that are certainly viable on Life Orb Deoxys-A are Knock Off, Hidden Power Fire and even Spikes / Stealth Rock, although hazards are very difficult to run effectively on Sash-less Deoxys. Psycho Boost and Extremespeed should never be replaced.

Do you mean Sash + 4 Attacks does not work very well when used as a lead, or does not work well in general? Because I have been using it as a backup Mixed Attacker, and it does very well on its own. I just need a bit of clarification on your note.
