Diamonds Dancing
Hi, smogon. I'm here with an RMT on my Diancie team that I created about a month ago. So far it has been fairly successful getting me to around 1650 on the ladder, but I feel it could definitely be tweaked to be more effective so I brought it here. Without further ado, lets get into the team.

Teambuilding Process:

I started with the core of Bisharp+Diancie because I think that they both do very well in an offensive meta like this.

Looking at the core I noticed that it gets merked by Keldeo so I added Latios to help that.

Dark types, Scizor and steel types looked problematic so I added keldeo in order to break them down and take hits from scizor.

I saw that I needed rocks and a pivot would also be very nice so I added Landorus.

The last spot could go a lot of ways but I decided to go with speed control and a mon that could help check the problems to the team so scarf Rachi was added.
In Depth Analysis:
Diancie

I decided to build around Diancie because it puts immense pressure on teams with its amazing dual STAB, power and speed. Diancie is able to put immense pressure on teams from turn 1 as it prevents hazards and also has good matchup vs a very common lead in garchomp. As well as the pressure it applies it is a fairly decent Talonflame check which is huge for offense because Talonflame can present itself to be such a nuisance. The set is very standard as protect is for the free mega as well as scouting choiced pokemon which is actually very valuable. The dual STABs are pretty much mandatory and make it very hard to have switch ins. I prefer Hp Fire over Earth Power on my Diancie sets because I like that is able to lure in Scizor and Ferrothorn, and it just has better coverage overall.

- Diamond Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Bisharp
Bisharp is a great partner for Diancie as it is able to put pressure on nearly everything that threatens Diancie. First of all it breaks down fat teams that diancie struggles with, as well as providing a major thorn in the side for opposing offense as Sucker Punch is very potent against more frail teams. It also is able to pick off annoying things on weather which is very scary for offense to deal with. I chose to go with Dread Plate because LO Bisharp always seems to fall short due to the recoil, plus most of the time you're going to press the Dark move so the power loss is very minimal. Moveset is the standard SD set to give the team a solid wincon.
Bisharp @ Dread Plate
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
Latios
I added Latios in order to deal with Keldeo most notably because the scarf variant can totally destroy my most valuable pokemon. Latios has been a staple on offense for a long time due to its ability to help glue teams together without sacrificing momentum, and this case is no different. I decided to go with 3 attacks + Recover because Thunderbolt was almost a necessity for this team as it helps deal with waters much better and more importantly lures in Skarmory which can be a nuisance. Recovery is to improve its longevity as it needs to be able to check and pressure Keldeo/Venusaur as much as possible.
Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover
- Thunderbolt
Keldeo:
I decided on Keldeo for this spot because it was able to check Dark types as well as check most Steel types and put immense pressure on most teams due to it being so strong. It also makes a great partnership with Latios as most things that switch into Latios are destroyed by this on the double switch. I chose to go with Hp Electric is to hit water types super effectively, and helps deal with Gyarados before it mega evolves. Keldeo is just an amazing pokemon on offense right now and has great synergy with this team.
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Electric]
Landorus:
The team was still missing rocks and benefits greatly from being able to pivot as it lets all the offensive monsters come in for free. Landorus also serves a decent switch in to most physical attackers and the intimidate is very nice in a lot situations. I went with rocky helmet as the residual damage is very nice for this team as it helps the rest of the team pick up KOs and helps pressure things like Lopunny which is super annoying for offense.
Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
Jirachi:
I decided to go with Jirachi as my sixth member for multiple reasons. First off the team lacked a real revenge killer or speed control and Jirachi filled both roles nicely. Second, the team only had one check to Scizor, and Scizor is a major threat so Fire Punch Rachi also fit nicely into that role. I chose to go with Heart Stamp over U-Turn because I didn't really need another pivot, and Heart Stamp helps revenge kill things like Lopunny and also gives a better way to deal with Venusaur and Keldeo if Latios goes down. Healing wish is amazing on offense and can be a nice clutch factor in close matches. Jirachi is basically the glue that helps hold the team together.
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Heart Stamp
- Fire Punch
- Healing Wish
Threats:
Rain:
Rain is pretty brutal to face as I can't out speed it and have to rely on stalling rain turns and sucker punch to deal with it effectively.
Thundurus:
This guy is pretty annoying as both sets can be annoying and I can't play around both if I don't know if its nasty plot or T-Wave.
That's all for the team! Any help is appreciated! :)
