Diancie @ Hard Stone
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Body Press
- Trick Room
- Protect

A diamond in the rough, Diancie stands out in the Doubles OU metagame as a Trick Room attacker that essentially plays for itself! The combination of Hard Stone-boosted Diamond Storm and Body Press, a strong spammable STAB attack that can boost Defense and an attack that capitalizes off these boosts, lets Diancie break through teams while also becoming increasingly harder to KO itself. Despite being a Trick Room setter, Diancie often finds a place in faster teams aiming to take advantage of its defensive profile, with strong match-ups into Tornadus, Chien-Pao, Dragonite, and Incineroar. Against the fast hyper offense teams these threats are often found in, Diancie's ability to take over a game like an egoist through Trick Room is incredibly valuable. Iron Hands and Incineroar are some of Diancie's best teammates, as both are Fake Out pivots that give Diancie free turns to set Trick Room, as well as strong, slow attackers that take advantage of Trick Room themselves. Tera Dragon also helps Diancie get needed space, shedding its Rock typing's key weaknesses and allowing it to take otherwise lethal hits from Ogerpon-W, Rillaboom, and Landorus.

I think you're overselling Diancie as a one mon show a little hard - it does still really like Fake Out to buy the turn to set up TR at the least, so no mentions of Incineroar and Hands feels wrong. Rest is good so just add that and call it approved

A diamond in the rough, Diancie stands out in the Doubles OU metagame as a Trick Room attacker that essentially plays for itself. The combination of Hard Stone-boosted Diamond Storm and Body Press, a strong spammable STAB attack that can roll boost Defense boosts and Body Press, (AC) an attack that capitalizes off them these boosts, this structure makes it easier to keep track of the two elements' qualities makes Diancie quite the X-factor which X factor. It can easily run the field (RC) by breaking through teams while also becoming increasingly harder to KO itself. this sentence was way too long originally Despite being a Trick Room setter, Diancie often finds a place in faster teams aiming to take advantage of its defensive profile, with strong match-ups into Torandus Tornadus, Chien Pao Chien-Pao, Dragonite, and Incineroar. (AP) Diancie's ability to be an egoist, egoist means "a person who is preoccupied with their own interests," which doesn't really make sense in this context. I would use a different word setting Trick Room and taking over the game, is highly valued in these hyper offense matchups teams. "matchups" implies that diancie is facing HO teams and is not a part of them, which contrasts with what you are saying in the prior sentence. Iron Hands and Incineroar are some of Diancie's best teammates, as both are Fake Out pivots that give Diancie free turns to set Trick Room, as well as strong, (AC) slow attackers that take advantage of Trick Room themselves. Tera Dragon also helps Diancie get needed space, shedding its Rock-typing's Rock typing's key weaknesses and allowing it to take otherwise lethal hits from Ogerpon-Wellspring Ogerpon-W, Rillaboom, and Landorus-I Landorus.

i agree that the sentence that was split up was too long, but i dislike splitting them up like this. feels disjointed and off tempo. ill try to restructure later and ask someone to do a quick GP of the new segment

this whole thing is essentially a whole bizarre blue lock reference and the idea of an "egoist" within the show does fall in line within the context of how this was written. im keeping that in

im also keeping matchups. that was the intent; teams with Torn, CP, and DNite are the HO teams which Diancie is often included to beat. I suppose this would be a fair misunderstanding to make considering Diancie also does fit in these HO teams. I'll try to rewrite this in a way that clarifies this ambiguity.

ill implement this later

Fine w/r/t points 1 and 3; I can try to workshop a diff ver of the sentence in your first point too. Just tag me when you implement and I can give a once-over for the points that you will rewrite for ya.

Re: point 2, it's up to SocMed leads as to whether or not the show reference is accepted; I am somewhat indifferent at the end of the day from a pure GP standpoint (esp. due to the more lax nature of spotlights), but my main concern is that it has the potential to confuse people reading this who have not watched the show in question (like me).
