[SET COMMENTS]
Diancite Dragapult with its good offensive stats and unrivaled speed tier is a notable threat in Mix and Mega. With a good offensive typing in Dragon/Ghost, it is able to threaten many metagame staples. Shadow Ball is its primary STAB move and allows it to hit Chandelure, Mew and Dugtrio. Draco Meteor is strong secondary STAB and is able to deal severe damage to Rotom-Forms, Terrakion and Dragon types such as Hydreigon, Zekrom and Reshiram. U-turn is extremely important for Dragapult for it to safely pivot around its checks and chip threats that it fails to OHKO, allowing it to survive and better its chances to break them later. It is due to this combination of its excellent speed and the ability to pivot around its checks that Dragapult shines against offensive teams. Though not very accurate, Thunder is an excellent coverage move and hits defensive pivots such as Mandibuzz and Corviknight which otherwise completely wall it. Alternatively, Fire Blast can also be used, having better accuracy and hitting Steel types like Necrozma-DM, Corviknight and Excadrill. Fire Blast however struggles to get past through Venusaurite Corviknight and hence Thunder is largely accepted as its last move. Mild should always be preferred over Modest or any speed boosting nature as Dragapult’s speed tier is already great pre-mega and it increases the chip damage from U-turn while the additional SpA boost allows it to hit the aforementioned Pokemon better.
Dragapult has terrible defenses and does not like to switch in to attacks, hence slow pivots like Mew and Corviknight are great partners for it, safely allowing it in the field. It is also very weak to Extreme Speed users such as Lucario and Arcanine and thus requires defensive support. Due to this, Manectite Mew, Hippowdon and Toxapex have good synergy with it. Mew in particular, checks the aforementioned Extreme Speed users while also ensuring that Dragapult enters the field safely. In turn, it threatens Mew’s checks such as Hydreigon and Chandelure. Diancite Dragapult also struggles to break through common defensive Pokemon such as Ampharosite Clefable, Hippowdon and Gyaradosite Toxapex. Hence partners such as Altarianite Arcanine and Lucarionite Mamoswine which can threaten these Pokemons are greatly appreciated by it.
