Digital Cameras and Camcorders

All right, so I seem to have the worst luck with digital cameras and I can never get the highest possible quality that I want. I'm curious what some of the users here have and how well the specific devices work. Right now I have a Samsung S1050 10.1 MP digital camera. It's good though I feel I could do better. Should I go with a digital camcorder and perhaps even go HD?

you realise you have told us absolutely nothing about the purposes for which you will use said camera and nothing about what you dislike about your current product. basically you just made a topic for the sake of making a topic.
 
Well actually I was hoping someone could tell me of a camera they own and how well it works for them in terms of recording video.
