What with the metagame of X and Y still blooming, I decided it is about time to start planning my post-bank team. I'm a bit rusty so any and all suggestions are highly welcomed! :)
Klefki @ Light clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Reflect
- Light screen
- Thunder Wave
- Foul Play
The first prankster-mon to get both screens and with perfect typing for it, this thing can come in on a variety of moves set up and switch out. With light clay, I net myself 8 turns of protection. Thunder Wave is priority with prankster, and I usually can set them up without hastle. Foul Play prevents me from being taunt-bait, and is a slap in the face to set up-mons, such as Agislash. More often than not, I'll continue to set up with Klefki until it is eventually taken out by the opponent.
Porygon2@Evolite
Ability: Trace
Evs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpD
Bold Nature
~ Thunderbolt
~ Ice Beam
~ Thunder Wave
~ Recover
My teams wall and support mage. He tends to stick around a long time, and is only really threatened my Fighting moves and toxic. I almost always open with a T-Wave, and weaken my opponent with Bolt-Beam, healing when needed. He is overall not only my favorite Pokemon, but also my teams MVP more often than not.
Blissey@Leftovers
Serence Grace
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpAtt
Modest nature
-Calm Mind
-Soft-boiled
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
My Blissy comes in using an aged set from way back in the day of R/S/E, which I have actually seen to be pretty effective! Overall, she is my special wall and tank. She can switch into a lot of specially based Pokemon, and set up in their face. From there, bolt-beam can cause some damage! Soft-boiled gives me reliable recovery, and better lets me tank special powerhouse Pokemon. I usually save her until the end of a match in order to try to check any special offencive Pokemon being saved until the end.
Rotom-Wash @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 28 SpA / 232 SpD
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
I've always liked Rotom, just look at it's mischievous little smirk. He can take hits pretty well, and retaliate with a pretty strong Hydro Pump, or make a swift escape with Volt Switch. Will-O-Wisp gives my team burn support, with is critical, as my team doesn't like running into fighting types one bit. Pain Split adds to my longevity, and can really hurt a Pokemon switching in if I am already low on health. More often then not, I send him out after one of my starting two Pokemon is taken out.
Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Fang
Thanks to Mawile's great defensive typing, and a bit of natural bulk, I can get a turn of set up without too much hassle, and from there it can be difficult for much of anything to survive long enough to take it out. Play Rough makes for amazing STAB, Sucker Punch is for priority, and vastly extends Mawile's life-span if predicted correctly, and Fire Fang is to counter steels. Unless a prime opitunity presents itself early game, I try and save her for mid-late game in hopes of going for a late game sweep.
Azumaril@Sitrus Berry
Huge Power
Evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 HP
Adamant Nature
~ Play Rough
~ Aqua Jet
~ Belly Drum
~ Superpower
The basic offensive belly drum set running around this gen. With Klefki screens support, it makes me more likely to be able to set up a Belly Drum, and with T-wave support from Klefki and Porygon2, I can actually outspeed some things without having to use priority. PR if for stab, and Superpower is there to help clear out steel and dark types that my team otherwise has issues with. She also is usually broght out just after one of my two first Pokemon get knocked out, in order to help finish off any Pokemon already damaged or weakened by Thunder Wave.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my post here, and I gratefully await your response.
Thanks in advance!
