Gen 1 Ditto (Mini) (READY FOR UPLOAD)

Banned deucer.
:rb/ditto:
[OVERVIEW]
Ditto is frankly a terrible Pokemon in Ubers; however, it holds a nanoscopic niche, as it can switch into paralyzed Mew that isn't attacking and threaten to transform into it, usually forcing it to switch out to a more passive teammate, such as Chansey or Mewtwo, dispelling any boosts it may have. It can also attempt to PP stall Mewtwo, Slowbro, and Chansey. However, it can't PP stall effectively because the first two are extremely hard to switch into once Ditto runs out of PP itself, and the latter 3HKOes Ditto with Seismic Toss due to its HP not changing after it's transformed. Ditto takes on the reduced Speed stat of the paralyzed Pokemon it's transforming into even if it isn't paralyzed itself. It also uses its own stats when landing or receiving a critical hit, making it extremely weak to them. Ditto is completely crippled by paralysis, and its niche of forcing Mew out is done far better by other Pokemon, such as Exeggutor, Zapdos, and Aerodactyl. Ditto doesn't do enough damage with any Amnesia boosts it may copy, and it doesn't have enough PP to stall adequately.

[SET COMMENTS]
Ditto can attempt to switch into paralyzed Mew that is using Swords Dance or Soft-Boiled and threaten Transform, which can force Mew out and remove any boosts it has acquired. It can also be used to stall out more passive threats such as Slowbro, as it can use Rest to remove paralysis. Ditto is much more threatening if the opponent is using an Explosion spam team, as it can transform into a Pokemon with Explosion to become actually threatening. It requires paralysis support to effectively fulfill the little niche it has, so the likes of Exeggutor, Thunder Wave Mew and Mewtwo, and Chansey can make good partners for Ditto. Ditto should preferably be kept hidden until Mewtwo, Chansey, and Slowbro are KOed, as these are its best switch-ins that prevent it from being threatening. If it is being used to stall, Ditto necessitates teammates that can switch into Mewtwo once it runs out of PP, such as Light Screen Chansey, Slowbro, and one's own Mewtwo. The easiest way to eliminate these foes is with Explosion users, making the likes of Snorlax, Self-Destruct Mewtwo, and Explosion Mew good teammates.

As discussed on discord I think that minis should still warrant a 2/2 and I have things to add here

(people also suggest it has a niche for copying Mewtwo and wasting its PP, though obviously this is way harder to switch out of) However, it's easy to simply switch out into Mewtwo, Slowbro, or Chansey and PP stall Ditto. Its HP remains at 299 even after its transformed, making it extremely easy to KO even after it morphs. It also takes on the reduced Speed stat if the Pokemon it's transforming into is paralyzed, even if it isn't paralyzed itself. (Probably worth noting that crit mechs fuck Ditto in both directions - critting off of 48 attacking stat or taking a crit with 48 defensive stat is horrendous for it) Ditto is completely crippled by paralysis and its niche of threatening Mew is done far better by other Pokemon, such as Exeggutor, Zapdos, and Aerodactyl. (Wouldn't call Aero a threat to Mew, just a wall)

Ditto can attempt to switch into paralyzed Mew that is either clicking Swords Dance or Soft-Boiled and threaten Transform, which can force Mew out and remove any boosts it has acquired. (It is probably worth noting that it can somewhat stall more passive mons like Slowbro because it can use Rest to take off paralysis, though this obviously requires forcing Rest to get an ally in and being willing to take para on Mewtwo; it's also hard to switch a boom user into it because Ditto can actually use boom to get decent value) Ditto requires paralysis supoort to even effectively fulfill the little niche it has, so the likes of Exeggutor, Thunder Wave Mew and Mewtwo, and Chansey can make good partners to Ditto. Ditto should preferably be kept hidden until Mewtwo, Chansey, and Slowbro are KOed, as these are its best switchins that roadblock it from being threatening. (Another note I might put here is that when using Ditto you need teammates that can switch into boosted threats like Mewtwo if you want to PP stall, like Light Screen Chansey or something, or else Mewtwo just forces you out instantly. Of course, Ditto + LS Chansey is ridiculously passive, which is part of the problem. Ditto's kind of caught between a theoretical PP stall role and the reality that it can't stall Chansey with 300 HP and can't stall Mewtwo because once it's forced out your switch-in is getting screwed. I don't know how to simplify that but IMO that is the core point of not using Ditto - it doesn't do enough with boosts it steals to be offensive, and it doesn't have enough PP to adequately stall) The easiest way to eliminate these foes is with Explosion users, making the likes of Snorlax, Self-Destruct Mewtwo, and Explosion Mew good teammates.

[OVERVIEW]
Ditto is frankly a terrible Pokemon in Ubers; (semicolon) however, (comma) it holds a nanoscopic niche, (comma) as it can switch into paralyzed Mew that isn't attacking and threaten to transform into it, usually forcing it to switch out to a more passive teammate, such as Chansey or Mewtwo, dispelling any boosts it may have. It can also attempt to waste the of PP stall Mewtwo, Slowbro, and Chansey. However, it can't PP stall effectively because (combining this part from the later sentence) the first two are extremely hard to switch into once Ditto runs out of PP itself, and the latter 3HKOes Ditto with Seismic Toss due to its HP remaining at 299 even not changing after it's transformed. It Ditto takes on the reduced Speed stat of the paralyzed Pokemon it's transforming into is paralyzed, even if it isn't paralyzed itself. It also uses its own stats when landing or receiving a critical hit base 48 Attack or Special if it critical hits and uses its base 48 Defense and Special when it's taking critical hits, making it extremely weak to them. Ditto is also completely crippled by paralysis, (comma) and its niche of forcing Mew out is done far better by other Pokemon, such as Exeggutor, Zapdos, and Aerodactyl. Ditto is simply too weak to PP stall Chansey with only 299HP, and can't effectively stall Mewtwo as once it runs out of PP itself Mewtwo is incredibly hard to switch into. (the stuff in this sentence is just repeated) It Ditto doesn't do enough damage with any Amnesia boosts it may copy take to be offensive, and it doesn't have enough PP to stall adequately.

adorluigi sorry, Cake sent to GP before giving me a chance to review her implementation of my comments so I hadn't actually finalized QC, but I just looked it over and it's good to go, QC 2/2; I'll upload it
