Ditto

[OVERVIEW]
  • Amazing ability in Imposter, which lets it transform as soon as it switches in.
  • Choice Scarf can be used on the transformed Ditto to easily revenge-kill stat-boosted opponents.
  • Z-Transform can be used to completely restore HP and transform into the Pokemon.
  • Moveset is copied, so opponents can switch into a Pokemon with resistances to the copied moves.
  • Horrible HP stat does not change with transform.
  • Terrible against defensive walls, Substitute, and Support teams.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

There's only one move Ditto naturally learns, and it's basically Imposter with no priority. Transform is useful in other sets, though.

Set Details
========

  • Max HP EVs allow Ditto to take hits better, as Ditto cannot copy a Pokemon's HP stat.
  • Defense EVs are in case of the very uncommon occasion you are up against another Ditto.
  • Don't give Ditto Speed IVs so it can have the IVs needed for Hidden Power Ice to easily attack Rayquaza.
  • Relaxed nature boosts defense but decreases speed, but with the Choice Scarf, don't worry!
  • Make happiness 127 to easily counter Mega Salamance, regardless if it has Return or Frustration.
Usage Tips
========

  • Ditto is best used as a Revenge Killer against already set-up Pokemon.
  • Should be used carefully around sweepers such as Deoxys-A, Pheromosa, and Porygon-Z, although that doesn't mean that they can't be swept back.
  • Use it to scout the foe's moves.
  • Can be switched in with a U-Turn or a Volt Switch.
Team Options
========

  • Ditto arguably fares better solo, as Imposter transforms Ditto into the Pokemon in front of it.
  • Can be used to remove entry hazards.
  • Wallbreakers can be used to assist Ditto.
  • Entry hazard support can be used to weaken opponents.
  • Giratina-O, Latias, and Latios are all great partners for Ditto.
Other Options
========

  • Limber and Z-Transform can be used when Ditto is injured, as Z-Transform can be used to transform and restore health.
  • Leftovers can be used instead of Choice Scarf.
Checks and Counters
========

**Calm Mind Arceus**: Has great bulk, it's Special Attack increases with every Calm Mind, and just to put the cherry on top, it can use Recover.

**Defensive teams**: Ditto can't OHKO walls like Blissey and will lose it's PP thanks to stall.

**Substitute**: Pokemon behind Substitutes can't be TRansformed by Ditto, making it as useful as a level 100 Magikarp.

**Status** Status moves like Thunder Wave and Sleep Powder will nullify Ditto's potential.

Minor nitpick, but you should mention happiness should be 127 to optimally counter mega-salamences, regardless if they run frustration or return. Also, mega rayaquaza is not in ubers, change that to other mons that are 4x weak to ice. (Mence, Zygarde, etc.) Also, include hp ice IV's in set

Z-Transform and Leftovers should both be removed. Choice Scarf is the only real reason to use Ditto because otherwise you have to rely on speed ties to win the 1v1. Z-Transform is not only really situational, but also will most of the time require you to take hit before transformation, and Ditto really can't afford to do that because of it's terrible defenses. Lefties are just as bad, why would you ever want to use them on Ditto? To better take care of walls? It still gets destroyed by them since it can't copy their HP.

e: Limber? No way. You're literally just giving the opponent a free turn.

While moving through this check it has become apparent that the writer lacks the ability to complete this analysis on their own at an acceptable quality. Ditto is the easiest analysis to write, but there is still a large list of issues with this skeleton.

Overview should have the mention of Z Transform removed; Z transform and leftovers are not OO worthy, you simply can't ever afford not to have Imposter and a Scarf. Overview needs to highlight Ditto's matchup against offense as this is the most important attribute of the mon. There also needs to be talk in the overview about how Ditto's presence is enough to deter opposing setup sweepers. The line about the Choice Scarf in the intro needs to be removed and discussed in set details only.

In the moves section remove the bit about Transform being useful: it never is since Imposter is all you need. Set details should specifically say that Ditto invests in HP because it's the only stat that isn't copied through Imposter. Targets of Hidden Power Ice are Rayquaza, Mega Salamence, and Zygarde-C, but none of these Pokemon ever run Hidden Power, so its rare that you'll be in a situation with a Ditto that has copied Hidden Power and benefits from hitting these targets. This fact should have been mentioned and it should have been pointed out that the 0 Speed IVs also help in Ditto vs. Ditto matchup.

Porygon-Z shouldn't be mentioned, it's not viable. Usage tips are bare and don't touch on anything that isn't obvious. Explain how to use this Pokemon against proactive team archetypes and reactive ones. Talk about the preservation of Ditto when facing offensive teams and the selection of choice-locked moves. Also discuss the ability to copy useful support moves such as Defog, Rapid Spin, Aromatherapy / Heal Bell, and when that is useful.

  • Can be used to remove entry hazards.
This is not a team option. List out all wallbreakers that work alongside Ditto. List out the hazard setters that pair well with Ditto. I'd argue Gira-O is not a notable partner for Ditto. Latios and Latias aren't viable. Number one check should just be passive Pokemon in general. If they have Rest or instant recovery, chances are Ditto can't do anything to them. Such Pokemon should be listed out. There are no users of Sleep Powder in Gen 7 Ubers that I'm aware of, so I don't know why that is mentioned. Opposing Ditto is also a Ditto check.

Minority covered everything wrong here. This is just not up to standards and gets too many things wrong to be worth fixing. Sorry bud. :/

This was an alright start with the formatting which is usually dodged by new writers but there are too many issues with the information itself for QC to go through to get this to the standards we require. Study up a bit on C&C and the mons and you can be much better prepared for another attempt in the future.
