I have tested this team out on Showdown and I have started making a few team members on my Pokemon Y copy.
Smeargle (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 SAtk
- Spore
- Stealth Rock
- Sticky Web
- Taunt
My hazard lead that has given me the upper hand in most battles. I gave max HP and Special Defense for the off chance that I can survive more than one special hit. I am aware it is a gimicky idea, but it has pulled me out of some sticky situations. However I find that he gets shut down by a Choice-Scarf Ditto lead. I am thinking of replacing Taunt with King's Shield.
Charizard-Mega-X (M) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
Dragon Dance allows Charizard to be a great sweeper. Flare Blitz is great to counter to a Jolly Mamoswine since Charizard has enough natural speed to outpace it. Dragon Claw is excellent for neutral damage (save for fairy types). I am debating whether or not to remove Roost. Thunder Punch can provide coverage for Bulky Water types but Roost helps heal Flare Blitz. I usually save him for a late-game threat.
Gardevoir (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Protect
- Will-O-Wisp
- Wish
A great specially defensive set. She can take almost any special attack. The trace intimidate has shut down some physical threats like Gyarados. Moonblast is another great way to wall special attackers indlucing Rotom-Wash, due to the relatively high chance of lowering special attack. Wish can couple well with the leftovers. Even if she gets hit by a toxic she can heal herself up to be able to sponge more attacks. Protect can also give me the chance to scout out an opponents move.
Azumarill (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 44 Spd / 212 HP
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Belly Drum
- Play Rough
- Superpower
I went with the Belly Drum set to give versatility and power to Azumarill. I have used her to switch in to threats, smack the opponent with a STAB Play Rough and sometimes KO with a following Aqua Jet. My only complaint so far regards the difficulty in pulling off a Belly Drum. However, I added the Sitrus Berry to keep her in the game longer.
Excadrill (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Shadow Claw
- Rapid Spin
A great partner for Charizard. Rapid Spin helps prevent Stealth Rock damage to him. Shadow Claw is there to hit Ghost-types who will attempt to block Rapid Spin. Earthquake and Rock Slide are coverage moves. I am debating switching Air Balloon to Assult Vest so that he can get some bulk and take more hits. I am also debating switching Rock Slide to X-Scissor to provide potentially better coverage.
Aegislash (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Quiet Nature
- King's Shield
- Iron Head
- Shadow Ball
- Shadow Sneak
Another great partner for Smeargle. Aegislash can help keep Sticky Web and Stealth Rocks up. More, I went for a mixed set here since I noticed my team lacked special attackers. Shadow Ball hits hard on most Pokemon. My strategy with him is to hit hard with Shadow Ball and follow-up with Shadow Sneak. King's Shield has been great at shutting down Pokemon with Knock-Off.
What are your thoughts? How can this team be improved?
