Welcome to the Do Not Use VGC Kickoff Tournament! Do Not Use VGC is a tier that features only the weakest of the weak Pokemon in a VGC format (more details below). This tour features a prize pool of minimum $25, increasing with the number of signups.
Tournament Rules
- All general tournament rules and guidelines apply.
- The format of the tournament will depend on the number of signups:
- 8 or fewer signups: Round Robin
- 9-16 signups: Groups with Double-Elim for top of each group
- 17+ signups: Swiss with Double-Elim for top players
- All matches are a single bo3 series played on the Dragon Heaven server.
- We have a teambuilder on Dragon Heaven which has Restricted and Unrestricted mons separated for convenience.
Metagame Overview
- This tier is comprised of Pokemon at or below 280 BST, with a few pokemon above that limit, and a few bans below the limit.
- Unbans: Beldum, Capsakid, Gulpin, Luvdisc, Snorunt, Swablu, Unown
- Bans: Smeargle, Shedinja, Wishiwashi
- Restricteds: Cottonee, Dewpider, Diglett-Alola, Flittle, Nidoran-M, Wattrel, Wingull, Zigzagoon-H
- Ability Bans: Huge Power, Pure Power
- Matches follow a mix of National Dex and Single-Restricted VGC Doubles Rules
- Pokemon/Moves from all generations are allowed
- All pokemon are at Level 50
- Matches consist of bo3 series
- Teams are Bring 6 Take 4 (Build 6 pokemon, 4 of them will be taken for each round of the bo3)
- You may have a maximum of 1 restricted pokemon on your team
- Open Team Sheets will be available within the simulator
- Item Clause
- All generational gimmicks (Z-Moves, Dynamax, Terastallization) are banned
Prize Pool
- Winner will get $25
- If there are 16 or more signups, 2nd place will get $10
- If there are 32 or more signups, 3rd and 4th place will get $5
