Do you see what I see? *Peaked #56*

So, I've been playing LC for awhile and it is quite fun. I've been working with this team, it's really fun just to battle someone with it. The main reason I'm doing this RMT is because I've been having a tad bit of a losing streak, and I'm having troubles identifing some problems.

Any suggestions are nice, so without further ado, I present my LC team.

*EDIT* Peaked at #36*

The Tower (Dwebble) (M) @ Oran Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- X-Scissor
- Rock Blast

Dwebble is a cool hermit crab. His ability to set up spikes and stealth rocks is very useful, making him one of the best dedicated leads. X-Scissor is very nice for power (which this set makes use of Dwebble's high attack, even for a entry hazarder) and gets STAB, which can take on thigs like Lileep. Rock Blast is a nice move, since Substitue is quite common. An Oran Berry helps to get health back in a pinch. Eviolite is a legit item also, but most things that will take on Dwebble will just try to hit really hard, with or without it will OHKO or 2KO it, sothe extra health help with Sturdy also.

Zigzagoon.gif

The King (Zigzagoon) (M) @ Oran Berry
Trait: Pickup
EVs: 208 Atk / 44 Def / 44 SDef / 208 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Belly Drum
- ExtremeSpeed
- Rock Smash
- Thief

Man, some people really underestimate the power Zigzagoon. Belly Drum is a god sent putting it's power up to a very very nice 52. Extremespeed is also amazing, it gets STAB and priority. Rock Smash and Theif are the real only move that Zig has for coverage. If Zig is about to die though, Thief can swipe foe's Eviolite or other items if it's Oran Berry is gone. Pick-up is an ability that I wouldn't like on Zig, but its the only legal ability with Extremespeed. Zigzagoon shouldn't be underestimated...ever.

The Bishop (Litwick) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 116 HP / 76 Def / 240 SAtk / 76 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Litwick might be a wierd choice, but I couldnt help myself, I love Litwick.
Sub + 3 attacks is quite a good set. Fire Blast is an amazing STAB move. Shadow Ball is another nice move with STAB. Hidden Power Ground hits Chinchou and Houndour reliably. Litwick might be considered Rare, but he hasnt went down the crapper yet.

FlagBearer (Chinchou) (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 52 Def / 232 SAtk / 220 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Chinchou is a prime bulky sweeper. Hydro Pump is awesome STAB Water move. Thunderbolt provides a lot of coverage with Hydro Pump and a prime STAB move. Substitue is a great move. With Eviolite it gives it bulk to help it survive and with Volt Absorb, it can get its HP back. Hidden Power Fire helps for Ferrothorn.

The Pawn (Squirtle) (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 244 HP / 156 Def / 84 SDef / 20 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Squirtle. Its main purpose is for Rapid Spin support. Surf is a reliabe STAB move. Rapid Spin help this team quite well. Toxic helps for breaking down walls. Hidden Power Fire once again is for Ferroseed. Not much to say.

Checkmate (Pawniard) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 Def / 196 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Night Slash
- Brick Break

Pawniard is amazing. Sword Dance makes its attack go shy high. Night Slash is reliable STAB move. Sucker Punch is a verry good STAB with priority, since most things that go against Pawniard, just straight out attack. Brick Break is great coverage. Pawniard is also good with Litwick, since he can switch into choiced fighting pokemon and set up Substitue.

- Some noticable threats are ground types. I could put in Bronzor, but I do not know who to replace.

Thanks for looking at my RMT. Any suggestions are very appriciated

Okay, lets see. Decent team, I must say, but I think you could make some nice changes to it.

For one, Litwick is horrible. He has horrible typing and lackluster speed. He should definitely be replaced for Gastly, who is much better. Gastly will help cover your ground weaknesses on Chinchou and Pawniard.

Secondly, Squirtle is subpar, at best. He gets okay stats, but Staryu is faster, has better coverage, and spins as well.

Zigzagoon is, well, gimmicky, really gimmicky. He's okay if you can set up, but the only thing you can really safely set up on is ScarfGastly locked into Shadow Ball. Anything you send Zigzagoon in on is going to hit back at it while it sets up Belly Drum, and the only pokemon in the meta right now that can really safely have a fighting weakness is Ferroseed (not to say all normal types suck). I'd really suggest replacing him for bulky Mienfoo.

Gastly @ Oran Berry
116 HP/196 SpA/196 Spe
Timid Nature

- Scald
- Thunderbolt
- Recover

Pickup is not all that bad. In LC, there really is no room for pinch berries. Plus, Pickup can grab foe's Oran Berries after they are eaten. (assuming it is not OHKO'd by a +6 Extremespeed)

maybe use aqua jet on squirtle over surf or toxic since with a priority move you can use it as death fodder after it has spun and cant do anything else so it can weaken or KO something with priority before they KO it.

i would personally use pineco since it has sturdy, good defense, all entry hazards(at least in gen 4) and can explode for a nice switch in and heavy damage on the opponent. It also resists righting and ground as well as can spin so you can replace squirtle if you want if spinning was the only idea.
i use this set

Pineco @ Oran Berry
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Impish/Adamant(depends if you want it to last or boom better)
-Protect
-Stealth Rock
-Rapid Spin
-Explosion

Protect is for fake out leads that neglect sturdy, after fake out is out of the question sturdy guarantees a turn to set up stealth rock (bar if they have a multi hit move and get a hax shot) and then oran berry heals it which could let you spin or explode, spikes can be used in place of explosion but pineco is then harmless(or rapid spin but i always keep a spinner though i have a back up spinner too), i just wish poison types didnt effectively "spin" the field of toxic spikes though, luckily croagunk isnt that common now days so toxic spikes is a viable option, you could even run max speed with a scarf to almost guarantee two layers though thats rather gimmicky.

Volt absorb isnt a reliable recovery since you would need to predict an electric attack, no one i know is dumb enough to use an electric attack on chinchou.

pawniard looks fine though i have never used it, and litwick is only good for immunity which are situationall and i dont see fire types being a problem with two water types on the team so maybe ghastly is a better option.

and personally on the chinchou set i can see you down to chinchou who is the last counter to some threat that you have and the battle rests on its shoulders, i see you clicking the all powerful hydro pump! and it misses..... personally i use more accurate moves and have seen hydro pump miss ohh so many times. i think substitute is rather worthless since they normally get broken the turn they are used unless the user is very slow in which case they may end up to weak to use it.

you may want to use a huge power azurill over zigzagoon, make sure it can survive somehow with a sash or eviolet if that works and give it waterfall(which gets the equivalent to adaptability boost with huge power) and return (gets a 2.5 boost from its regular attack stat) though it will probably only dish out one hit that hit will be a painful one for the receiver.

i think pawniard would suffer in many battles though since EVERY BW LC battle i see has a meinfoo or timburr(rarely) or some other fighting type that could outspeed and OHKO it with no problems given its glaring 4* fighting weakness.

from what i see this is a sweep team like most which some ramshackle defenses thrown in, thats not a bad thing as most teams are like this since LC is fast paced but those defenses wont do much like substitute on chinchou could be replaced by protect for its priority and the fact it doesnt cost a quarter of your HP(P.S if you are planning on keeping Sub make sure your HP is an odd number so you get 5 subs not 4).

though i can see a fighting type and a grass type tearing through this team, grass taking chinchou and squirtle and fighting taking zigzagoon and pawniard as well as dweeble, one of them is bound to carry a rock/ground move as well which KOes litwick
