Starting X & Y off, I was immediately captivated by all the Mega mons that were now at my disposal. As we are now entering a month in which X & Y has been out, I was beginning to get bored with the same megas being used over and over again, One day I was messing around and started using Mega-Heracross and this thing astounded me! With solid bulk and an immense base 185 attack stat, plus access to skill link, this mon has some amazing coverage and nets me at least one faint everytime i play. So without further adue, here is the team!
Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Pin Missile
- Arm Thrust/Close Combat
- Rock Blast
- Bullet Seed
The main attraction of the team. Heracross can tank hits and then procede to dish out a ton of damage with any one of its 4 moves. Pin Missile and Arm Thrust, or CC depending on which you prefer, will be your main moves on this set. Rock blast and Bullet Seed are there for coverage and do an excellent job of taking out mons that resist both of Mga-Heracross' stab moves.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
Now I know what you're all thinking. Why the hell does this thing have rocky helmet? I know it seems very gimmicky at first, but this thing gets the job done. I have never had a problem with Mega Kangaskhan while using this team. Lando intimidates any physical attacker, takes 17% of their health off every time they make contact, and can usually take it out with an EQ or stone edge due to its immense base 145 attack stat.
Dragalge @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Thunderbolt
Another set that seems gimmicky but trust me, not a lot of mons want to take an adaptability + specs draco meteor or sludge wave from this thing. Even though its base special attack is only 97, it essentially is at +2 on its stab attacks. Focus miss and t-bolt are there for coverage although ive never had to use t-bolt so I may swap it out for something else down the road.
Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite/U-Turn
- Superpower/Brick Break
- Swords Dance
Real standard Scizor set. I needed some priority on my team so i decided to go with one of the best priority users of gen 6. Once I get an SD up or 2 not very many things want to take a Bullet Punch from Scizor. U Turn can be interchangeable with Bug Bite if you would like to have more of a volt-turn team and Brick Break for superpower if you don't wish for the attack and defense drops.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 152 Def / 252 HP / 104 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Somewhat defensive Rotom=Wash set used for countering Talonflame. WOW can cripple any physical attacker and pain split to recover HP. Volt switch and Hydro Pump still hit relative hard and can be used to gain momentum.
Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Vacuum Wave
- U-turn
Last but not least, special Infernape. Finishing this team up I realized I needed a scarf user & also a fire type mon, so I went with infernape! Fire Blast catches a lot of defensive pokes off guard and can turn momentum in my favor. HP Ice is used to take out dragons & U-Turn is there to keep momentum in my favor. Debating taking out Vacuum Wave for Focus Miss as it is kind of a utility and I havent really had to use it.
So there the team is! My Current record with it is 56-21 and my rating on the PS pokebank OU ladder is 1865. I feel as if there is something missing from this team so I have decied to share it as I am looking for that last "oomph" to get me into the 1900's and higher.
