Introduction:
Remember when I said I was retiring for a sweet 3 week break? I LIED, I had one more thing to do...I got excited by the new Gen 6 news concerning the Ghost buff against Steels, and tbqh it made sense, Ghosts are unwordly and can bypass Steel made objects all the time. In any case, I wanted to learn how to use Gengar before the new meta arrives and I also felt that Kingdra was still under-appreciated in our OU world, that and me still wanting to play, this team came to being. I didn't start fresh and ladder from start as always, rather I took a +2000 alt and let the match making bring in some hard hitting folks from top of the ladder, mostly 50+ players (and a couple of top 10 as well) and I went on a winning spree (20-2) and so I felt confident about this team. Gengarino brought together a bunch Dragon strong men and some running boys to go around terrozing the neighborhood and putting bitches where they belong, and here is how he did it!

Step-by-Step building process:
A) Gengar was the star of the show, and instead of one I devised two sets to keep the element of surprise. One of them of course had to be a choice scarf set while the other was a sub + 3 attacks:

94.png

B) I needed Dragons! So I brought in my favorite physical dragon-ite, and a special Kingdra as mafia leaders. Dragonite needs no explanation, but I'll do it anyway, physical set up sweeper, priority, status absorber, sun lead, messes up BP, etc. Kingdra on the other hand manages to make the best use of his ability and Rain Dance to gain a agility boost and a Water booster at the same time, as well as messing up weather teams of all kinds:

Spr_5b_230.png
Spr_5b_149.png

C) Where there is a Dragonite, there is a spinner. And what better cleaner do the job other than Starmie? No one of course, rocking a LO and Analytic, it makes ruin of all spin blockers and manages to outspeed and revenge kill many more:

94.png
Spr_5b_230.png
Spr_5b_149.png
Spr_5b_121_s.png

D) Last but not least, I needed Steel, SR and a momentum driver as well as another physical attacker, hence Landrous-T and Jirachi. It's important to notice that there isn't much of a common weakness between all 6:

Team Analysis:

Gengar (aka Gengarino) @ Expert Belt/Choice Scarf
Modest (-Atk, +SpA) / Timid (-Atk, + Speed)
Levitate (Immune to Ground attacks and spikes)
252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 SpD

tumblr_mltk1n3A7l1rgagxfo1_500_zps14c8455b.gif

Substitute/Trick
Will -O-Wisp / Icy Wind
Shadow Ball
Focus Miss Blast

As I said before, I like to keep the element of surprise and I found both sets to be good. If you are running Expert Belt, you should be searching for max power and let the sub as well as Icy wind do that job, speaking of which this is an awesome move, and it almost always OHKOs those x4 weak to Ice anyway (especially after SR). Perfect coverage is perfect coverage, even though focus misses too much it's still good. Trick on the choice set is mainly to screw up Blissey's and the like, which is always priceless. You see, Gengar is not only a spinblocker, he is a HO blocker and someone who messes up everything.

----------

Kingdra (aka X5Dragon) @ Life Orb
Modest (-Atk, +SpA)
Swift Swim (Doubles speed under rain)
252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 SpD

Rain Dance
Surf
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse / Signal Beam

You would be very surprised at how many weather teams, especially Rain teams are exposed to this sea weed. So exposed in fact that usually Politoed is the LAST pokemon to make an appearance in the match, but just the same. I try to concentrate on power and high accuracy as much as I can, and with rain boosting water moves and LO being equipped as well as outspeeding everything even with Modest, this is a proper wrecking ball. At the very least, he can also change weather and teams like sun ones are destroyed or Sand stall is ruined if done right. Here is a demonstration of his destructive powers and ability to pull a late game sweep, better yet get you out of trouble even with the stat drops:

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Dragon Pulse vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 255-302 (97.32 - 115.26%) -- 81.25% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 236+ SpD Celebi: 192-227 (47.52 - 56.18%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Dragon Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Dragonite: 338-400 (104.64 - 123.83%) -- guaranteed OHKO

-1 252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Dragonite: 351-413 (108.66 - 127.86%) -- guaranteed OHKO

-1 252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 4 HP / 0- SpD Garchomp: 447-530 (124.86 - 148.04%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 286-337 (88.54 - 104.33%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

-1 252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Kyurem-B: 382-452 (94.32 - 111.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

-2 252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Surf vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T in rain: 328-385 (85.86 - 100.78%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 416-494 (114.28 - 135.71%) -- guaranteed OHKO

-1 252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Latios: 322-382 (106.97 - 126.91%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Keldeo-Resolute @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Icy Wind
- Hidden Power [Ghost] / Rain Dance
- Surf
- Secret Sword

----------------

Dragonite (aka Nobolite) @ Lum Berry
Adamant (-SpA, +Atk)
Multiscale (If at full health, damaging moves are reduced by 50%)

252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP

tumblr_inline_mmmbg1Hfzt1rllbyo_zps10ccd128.gif

Dragon Dance
Outrage

Extreme Speed
Fire Pwnch

Favorite Dragon no doubt, this single pokemon performs many duties. There's the abuse Multiscale and DD to sweep option, using Priorities to finish off weakned foes, Fire Pwnch to kill Scizors and Ferrothorns, Lum berry to absorb status for a variety of situation, and Outrage to start a sweep.

--------------

Jirachi (aka Fairynice) @ Shuca Berry
Timid (-Atk, +Speed) or Naive (-SpD, +Speed)
Serene Grace (Secondary effects chances of happening are doubled)
252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 SpD or 152 Atk / 208 SpA / 148 Spe

tumblr_ljkcuuBLoe1qhtqp3o1_500_zps0438ed80.gif

Grass Knot / Iron Head
Thunderbolt
Icy Wind
Stealth Rock

No one expect the troll Jirachi! You see many variants of this set going by, but I feel this is the best one to use as a lead, momentum killer, SR user or even lead executioner/spin blocker. It does a lot of things basically, and let's not forget it's also Steel with respectable bulk all around. There are very few safe switch in's into this fairy, and even then they have to be very careful not to be screwed by it's hax!

----------------

Starmie (aka Starflex) @ Life Orb
Timid (-Atk, +Speed)
Analytic (Powers attacking moves by 30% if the opponent switches out or moves last)
252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 SpD

tumblr_lo06foARns1qmsxxfo1_500_zps973cbeb5.gif

Rapid Spin
Surf
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam

Don't you love it when your support is also you offense? Best defense is offense they say, Nyahhahahah! Anyway, Boltbeam is solid as always, boosted by Life Orb and opportunistic switches with the help of Analytic, while Surf is to both take advantage of it's great neutral power, STAB and rain teams and rain dance via Kingdra, synergy! Let's not forget it 115 base speed, which outruns basically everything that isn't scarfed or Joltoen...

------------

Landorus-T (aka RockandTurn) @ Choice Scarf
Naughty (-SpD, +Atk)
Intimidate (Lowers the opponents attack stat by -1 when switched in)
252 Atk, 184 Speed, 72 SpA

tumblr_mbe66xIVzy1qczibyo1_500_zpsc1c45d8d.gif

U-Turn
Hidden Power Ice
Stone Edge
Earth Quake

Everyone hates Jirachi right? You also like to have another Physical attacker in the team lest you be Blissey'd, eh? Surprise factor is always nice, and when I mean surprise I'm not referring to those running Jolly on their Landy's, U-Turn at a Starmie who wants to spin and go out and find it to be still alive only to totally wreck which poor soul you have chosen to fodderize or have your precious rocks spun out. Let's not kid ourselves, if it outspeeds all non scarved pokemon (Joltoen as a benchmark) then it should be enough, but if you want more assurance and utility at the cost of less SpA to use with HP Ice, you can bump it to 285 so you jump over +1 AdmantNite with ease.

Hey X5Dragon! This is very cool RMT you made, did you draw the Gengar by yourself? It's really cool! However, I think you should add an importable so that people can steal check it for practicality and any threats that they have missed.

Anyway, this is a very powerful HO team, I see many fast and hard-hitting mons on the team. Hidden Power Ice is a nice touch on Landorus, being able to check those nasty Dragons who will actually ransack your team (two pokemon weak to dragon, Jirachi is weak to the common Fire/Earthquake that they pack). I really think that Scarfed Salamence is a threat to the team, so play it carefully with Landorus!

The synergy is perfect, I cannot find an attacking type/combo that can break through the team easily. The only common weaknesses that I see are Dragon/Ice, which isn't a really big deal... unless you put in Kyurem-B. Yeah Kyurem-B is a pretty scary monster for your team; Jirachi can't touch it and Landorus can only revenge kill it; can' switch in safely.

I think that Grass Knot is not that useful on Jirachi, why don't you switch it to Iron Head?

anyway, I'm hard pressed to find the weaknesses in your team; it's really that good. Great job!

So if you need a rate I'm rating this 9.5/10

Hmm I like this team, its solid.
Rain teams with ferrothorn are annoying because they hinder kingdra+ jirachi cannot touch it. Starmie can dent it but its not the best answer to ferro and ofcourse Dnite will have a harder time breaking it. This leaves LandoT + gengar who can both damage it however. I feel llike icywind on Gengar isnt the best choice of move slot. I would try Will O wisp over Icywind this way you can sub+willo common pokemon that switch into gengar like ttar/Scizor/jirachi' etc and still nail ferro for a burn which really hurts its staying time. Focus Blast is obviously going to damage ferro but the miss factor can really be make or break and at least with Will O wisp you lose nothing by spamming it on switches. Also I agree with the above about Ironhead over Grassknot simply because you can flinch Skarmory turn 1 and then tbolt it meaning its less of a pain for starmie to spin vs common skarmgar teams. And Grassknot generally only helps vs gastro/hippowdon , however keep in mind, willo wisp on gar hurts both alot in the long run too. Great team though! I like it

Thanks man, I don't think I had a 9.5 before, lol. No, the drawing was done by a talented dude with the name Drift Kirby, and it was so cool I built the team theme around it. I'm adding an importable, so you can steal check it yourself :rolleyes:

I suppose I can see the need for more steel moves, so trying out Jirachi as a mixed attacker/SR lead with Iron head is worth testing, thanks!

Thanks man! Well Icy Wind really works better for the substitute set as it really messes up whoever wants to switch in and revenge kill it or at the very least it make it fodder for whoever comes next. I can see your concern about Ferrothorn, and burning it as well as other left over walls can be very valuable. I'll slash it in then along with the Iron head suggestion!

It's so Perfectly pretty. Shouldn't kingdra have some other coverage move instead of dragon pulse?

Thanks, well Kingdra isn't going past his usually check named Ferrothorn with any coverage move so I opted instead for a reliable, accurate STAB that usually hits everything neutrally and the same time nabs lots of OHKOs without resorting to Draco Meteor. If you want though, you can test Signal Beam on the set for the Celebis.

-------------

For those who want more Fighting STABs in the team and at the same time the ability to go mixed, I've put a Keldeo set as another suggestion under Kingdra.

Nice team. The only problems I found Was that fire punch was often too weak to rid of ferrothorn in the rain. Which outside of focus miss from gengar, you don't have anything else to hit. You can either try a cb dragonite with superpower, or an agility rain sweeper set with hurricane. If you are adamant (see what I did there...) about using dd dragonite, you may opt for a jolly set withn 180 speed evs to outspeed scarf latios, keldeo, and venusaur in sun at +2.

P.s. we never had our battle date...

LOL well yeah let's have our match soon, I'm on the PS doing test thingies and what not. Actually I've been trying the suggested pokemon for Kingdra, Keldeo for a while and I find it solves the problem nicely well also providing mixed capabilities and offensive power. Thanks for the rate!

Here's me doing good against a high ranked Stoutland (how the fuck is this thing NU?) team:
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-52289666

I plan on posting in the OP high level matches against all playstyles to demonstrate how this works. I might even get excited an just ladder from start. Please post your feedback or your experiences with the team.

Edit: 5 High level matches have been added to the OP, enjoy!

Hey X5Dragon, thanks for the request! This is a really solid team and it has a nice Offensive Core that you can play around with to make a few nice versions of the team.

So first of all, as others have said Ferrothorn definitely seems annoying to deal with and it walls your Kingdra which is a big problem. I also can see Dragon types giving this team a problem though. With Jirachi being your lead and only Steel type it will be worn down pretty easily, putting the rest of your team in a very tough situation if you lose momentum.

With that being said I would recommend switching your current Shuca Rachi to a Scarf Set. Choice Scarf Jirachi deals with Dragons amazingly since it can tank a few strong Dragon attacks plus it can outspeed and KO with a couple of Flinches or with Ice Punch. Plus it has Healing Wish which is an amazing move to pack on and Offensive team built around Set-up Sweepers.

Now with your Jirachi set being changed you lack SR on your team and Lando-T becomes pretty redundant as a Second Scarfer. I think using a Lead Garchomp over Lando-T would fit your team really nicely. Garchomp is really great at setting up SR and providing immediate Offensive Pressure to the opposing team. There are a few sets you can play around with as well. I've found SD to work really nicely but a set with Fire Blast for coverage against opposing Ferrothorn is something your team might really appreciate as well.

Hopefully my suggestions helped! Let me know how it works and great job with the team!

Thanks man for the rate, indeed I've had around 3 versions so far and they all seem to fair well. I got to say I like Rachi's LG, revenge killing capabilities well Garchomp on the other hand is also a nice SR lead and can dish out damage immediately. I chose Adamant Garchomp with enough EVs to outspeed JollyMamoswine, and the rest into Atk and HP, while for Rachi I opted for Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Iron Head and Healing Wish. Here's a match with a plus 2000) account:

I'm looking forward to trying the suggestion of CB nite while keeping Kingdra on the team, let's see how it works out.
