Hey guys! Im new to the forums and this my first RMT, sorry if it sucks!
(つ°ヮ°)つ └⋃┘ (Tyranitar) @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
I wanted Tyranitar to be the main physical sweeper of my team. Mega Tyranitar has great attack and defensive stats making it ideal as a DD sweeper. Crunch and Stone edge are the main stab attacks, Fire punch is coverage against bulky steel types that would normally wall Mega Tyranitar, as well as hitting grass types that would also wall Mega Tyranitar.
Cat Planet Cuties (Kyurem-Black) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 224 Atk / 32 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Iron Head
- Fusion Bolt
Kyurem-Black serves as the revenge killer/late game sweeper of the team. Kyurem-Black main purpose is to revenge kill anything that knocks out other pokemon on my team, its enormous attack stat breaking through most everything that doesn't resist Kyurem-Black's attacks. The choice scarf allows it to out speed the majority of the unboosted metagame, as well as acting as a surprise factor (i have yet to see another Kyurem-Black with choice scarf). Ice beam is one of the main stabs OHKO most ground types. Outrage is more for the late game sweeper component, OHKO most things it hits and dealing significant damage to physical walls. Iron head is coverage against anything fairy, mainly mega Gardevior, which would normally destroy my team (224+ Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 24 Def Mega Gardevoir: 316-374 (114 - 135%) -- guaranteed OHKO.) Finally Fusion bolt, which is for bulky water types, like Azumarill. (224+ Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 92 HP / 0 Def Azumarill: 348-410 (95.6 - 112.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO)
Jet Memes (Latias) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Defog
- Healing Wish
Latias is the special sweeper/ support of the team. Latias main function is to burst foes's with Draco meteor, clear up any hazards, and if it comes to the late game, use healing wish to revitalize Mega Tyranitar or Kyurem.B. Psyshock it decent stab agaisnt fightning types which normally would stomp my team. Draco meteor is the other stab which is there just to do heavy damage/OHKO anything that doesn't resist it. Defog is pretty self explanatory. The one contentious thing in this set is Healing wish, which seems strange considering i already have a Sylveon. The reason for this is because for the purposes of my team, Sylveon is there to provide early to mid game support. I often find that Sylveon rarely survives to the late game, and is often sacrificed in order to give me momentum on the switch (i will often sacrifice Sylveon so i can get a safe switch into Kyurem.B and revenge kill) . For this reason i find healing wish necessary as a late game measure.
┬┴┬┴┤・ω・)ノ├┬┴┬┴ (Sylveon) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Wish
The cleric of my team, chosen for her great bulk and my need for a early-mid game support. Sylveon is again, another counter measure to fighting types, dragon types and gives me some useful coverage against dark types. Her excellent Sp.Def stat makes her a natural special wall against most special sweepers with the exceptions of Heatran and Gengar which out speed her and deal heavy damage with thier respective stabs. While most of the set is self explanatory, the Hypervoice may seem to be an odd choice. Personally i cannot count the # of times i have one shot a squishy fighting type or dragon type with Hypervoice, and while the one shot is to be expected, people in general never seem to expect Hyervoice. Not only does it act as a surprise factor, it also saves me from being completely taunt locked and deal good damage to the taunter.
So much nope (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Knock Off
I chose Landorus-Therian to fill the pivot role i severely lack on my team. Landorus-Therian acts as the momentum gainer, saving me from having to hard switch every Pokemon on my team and dealing heavy damage with stab EQ. Earth quake as I mentioned is the main stab and coverage against steel types like Heatran or the odd excadrill. Stone edge is to hit flying types like thundurus and Charizard Y. U-turn is for momentum and finally knock off helps against evolite users and choice sweepers. \
Starmeme (Starmie) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect Type
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Recover
I chose Starmie specifically for its insane speed and reflect type. Starmie is the odd ball on my team and designed to act as a physical wall of sorts, spreading burns with scald to undermine physical attackers and using reflect type to gain resistance against most who attack it. Reflect type is perhaps the best defensive move in the game, save kings shield. It allows Starmie to resist the stab of whoever attacks it and can force a switch giving me the upper hand. Scald is a solid stab with the possibility to burn the opponent, shutting down most physical sweepers. Psyshock is another stab to hit fighting and poison types as well as anything that is Sp.Def invested (im not sure about psyshock my self, please suggest another move in exchange). Finally, to make up for Starmie's lack of bulk, recover provides good healing, paird with Starmie's speed stat it can take a hit then fully recover and whittle down the opponent with burn damage.
Checks and counters:
Pursuit trappers: this is mostly a problem for latias who has nothing to hit dark types with after it uses Draco meteor, allowing it to be forced into staying and possibly letting the opponent set up under the threat of getting trapped (mind you if this is the case i will almost always purposefully sack Latias)
Fairy types: the only coverage i have against fairy types is Iron Head on Kyurem.B which more often then not fails to OHKO bulky fairy types, who in turn can set up on Kyurem.B and one shot him (especially Celfable, **** Clefable).
