Hey everyone! Well, I survived USAFA Basic Cadet Training (it was a bitch), and I've gotten through the first week or so of the academic year. I'm pretty much free on weekends, but I have a lot to do. I'd imagine that I will probably be able to battle a bit for fun once and a while, and on vacations. I've been looking around a bit, and it seems things have changed for the better. I apologize to Rojo23 for my unannounced withdrawal from the CaP tourney--I didn't realize how much I had to do before I left. Besides that, its good to have a computer again, but that's pretty much the only semblance of "freedom" around here as a freshman. Hope things have been going well for everyone--I'm just surviving for Parent's Weekend at the moment (Aug 29th) which is the first time I get to leave base. But yeah, I'll check periodically if ya'll have anything to say--just wanted everyone to know I'm still alive, and will return some day.

Hey, congratulations on getting accepted into the Academy. I went to West Point's Summer Leadership Seminar last summer to live a week of cadet life. It was one of the most unique experiences of my life but in the end I just didn't want to spend 4 years at school and then have another 5 years of service.

Don't let plebe year get you down though. I've heard about ALOT of really rotten things that freshmen have to go through. I'm not sure on how passionate you are about the Academy but if you're ever questioning your decision, just remember that it's all much easier after that first year. This is an awesome opportunity and you don't want to give it up.

Yeah, I never thought about getting out after the first two days or so of basic cadet training (everyone calls it beast). Pretty much if you weren't passionate about the academy before, you will be if you survive beast. It was really challenging, but the feeling of accomplishment made it worth all the crap. Freshman year is just as challenging but in different ways. Mostly its because you are juggling the three aspects of the academy--academics, military, and physical training. In one day you have to figure out how to do your squadron duties, make it to every class on time, find some time to work out, and then hit the books for homework. The weekends are great because you can feasibly relax on Saturday, and then do homework on Sunday.

I see everyone I used to know around here has been doing well--congrats to Irak for getting that #1,2 status. I'm eager to try the smogon server of shoddy. Seems that Deoxys is all the rage nowadays as well, and I thought Garchomp would be dealt with by now--when I left it was getting to the point when whole teams could counter him. *sigh*
