As one of the few genetically enhanced Pokémon, Assault Vest Genesect blends offense with defense in order to become an excellent offensive pivot in DOU. Most importantly, it synergizes very well with metagame titans such as Mega Gengar, Mega Manectric, and Incineroar by throttling the likes of Landorus-T, Zygarde, and Kyurem-B. An Assault Vest lets it switch into Tapu Lele, Kyurem-B, and Deoxys-A somewhat safely. It also benefits from wide coverage; alongside Download, this can make it surprisingly strong if played correctly, hitting a good portion of the tier for super effective damage while still keeping U-turn, which solidifies its role as a pivot. Nonetheless, its somewhat lacking Speed and immediate power, especially with the wrong Download boost, can let it down at times; strong and fast teammates like Mega Gengar, Zygarde, and Kommo-o can make up for that and appreciate Genesect baiting Incineroar in and giving them a free opportunity to switch in through U-turn.

main points:
  • No need to mention Download boost about U-turn
  • If space permitting,
    • specific examples of wrong Download boost failing Genesect in achieving some of its core roles (fails to secure OHKO on Zygarde and offensive Kyurem-B even after SR, i.e. pretty pathetic and requires chip damage, but granted it can provide that by itself)
    • elaborate on Gengar and Kommo-O synergy (attracts Incineroar on the U-turn)

i wanted to qc this :{|} but looks like im late to the party. It still honestly feels somewhat incomplete; you gave the reasons why it's good, which are all fine points, but you never really gave the main idea that all those points support. In a way, it felt like reading an argumentative essay without a thesis statement. You never really said anything about the role it excels in or the key point for why people should use it, rather you only said why it's actually good. To that end, it felt like it lacked any actual direction other than you just describing it. Add a strong opener summing up AV Gene, which is probably one sentence max and should be easy to fit post-GP, and you're golden. Again, sorry for being late!
