Thanks to its great defensive typing and physical bulk with Eviolite, Doublade is an effective physical wall and setup sweeper in UU that can wall and set up on huge threats like Terrakion, Scizor, and Mega Aerodactyl, which is invaluable to offensive and balanced teams. These traits make it a great partner to a variety of Pokemon such as Togekiss, Kyurem, and Celebi, which greatly appreciate its defensive capabilities. Shadow Sneak can allow Doublade to clean up late-game after the enemy team has been weakened, making up for its rock-bottom Speed stat. Doublade struggles against common Pokemon like Rotom-H, Krookodile, and Mega Manectric, making partners such as Kommo-o, Hydreigon, and Blissey solid teammates. It also lacks any form of reliable recovery and can get worn down over the course of a match, making Wish users such as Florges and Sylveon appreciated as well.

Shadow Sneak can also allow Doublade to clean up late-game after the enemy team has been weakened, making up for its rock-bottom Speed stat. Doublade does struggle struggles against common Pokemon like Rotom-H, Krookodile, and Mega Manectric, making partners such as Kommo-o, Hydreigon, and Blissey solid teammates. It also lacks any form of reliable recovery and can get worn down over the course of a match, (better flow by putting both problems before the solution rather than problem>solution>second problem also solved by solution) making Wish users such as Florges and Sylveon appreciated as well, (RC) as it can get worn down over the course of a match.
