[OVERVIEW]

With its strong defensive typing and fantastic Eviolite-bolstered physical bulk, Doublade acts as a decent physical tank, able to take on a variety of physical attackers including Braviary, Snorlax, Tyrantrum, and Tauros. In addition, its good Attack, powerful coverage, and access to Swords Dance let it crush defensive staples such as Copperajah, Diancie, and Sylveon, while useful priority in Shadow Sneak lets it sufficiently threaten offensive teams. However, Doublade's meager Special Defense despite Eviolite means even powerful resisted STAB moves from the likes of Exploud, Indeedee-F, and Dragalge can 2HKO it, making it awkward to fit on teams as a Steel-type, and its reliance on Eviolite makes it a poor answer to many physical attackers like Toxicroak, Escavalier, and Tsareena that run Knock Off. Doublade's total lack of reliable recovery and vulnerability to common coverage makes it an ineffective long-term check and spinblocker to Tyrantrum, Copperajah, and Tsareena. While Doublade is powerful after Swords Dance, it is also not exceedingly difficult to wall, with bulky Pokemon like Mantine, Talonflame, and Mudsdale able to take it on, and it is easy to revenge kill due to its over-reliance on a relatively weak Shadow Sneak to handle faster threats.

Despite its limited coverage, Iron Head is important to threaten Fairy-types, particularly Diancie, and cover certain neutral targets such as Vileplume and Dragalge. Shadow Sneak primarily hits faster Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Decidueye, Golurk, and Starmie, OHKOing all of them at +2 with Stealth Rock support, as well as weakened, frail Pokemon like Salazzle. Close Combat is a powerful weapon against Copperajah and Snorlax and lets Doublade strike back against faster Dark-types like Guzzlord and Scrafty. The listed EVs allow Doublade to outspeed Dhelmise and defensive Copperajah.

As chip damage is so detrimental to Doublade's walling ability, it needs to be paired with a Wish user such as Vaporeon or Sylveon. Vaporeon can also take on many of the Fire-, Water-, and Ground-types that trouble Doublade, while Sylveon can check Dark-types and Sirfetch'd for it. Itemless Vileplume is a strong partner, absorbing Knock Off and Poltergeist and nailing Xatu with Sludge Bomb so Doublade can come in freely on a forced Roost. Weezing forms a potent physically defensive core with Doublade, handling Ground-types and Sirfetch'd while also switching into Knock Off from foes like Tsareena and Toxicroak. As Doublade cannot reliably use its set of resistances against special attackers, Diancie, Guzzlord, and Snorlax are excellent teammates, checking Pokemon like Exploud, Heliolisk, and Indeedee-F, respectively. Doublade appreciates a partner that can deal with faster Pokemon unbothered by Shadow Sneak, such as Heliolisk, Exploud, and Tsareena; Passimian is a good candidate and also brings Doublade in with U-turn.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Shadow Claw gives Doublade a stronger hit against Talonflame, Dhelmise, and Mantine and retains perfect coverage with Close Combat; however, Iron Head gives Doublade better matchups overall. Rock Slide Doublade can lure in and OHKO Talonflame without a boost, but fitting Rock Slide heavily compromises Doublade's overall coverage. Toxic punishes walls that Doublade baits in such as Mudsdale and Arcanine but diminishes its offensive potential.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Knock Off**: Powerful Knock Off users such as Escavalier, Toxicroak, and Machamp are very dangerous for Doublade to take on, opening it up by hitting it hard and removing its Eviolite. Passimian and Tsareena can use Knock Off so that Doublade cannot easily stop them from cleaning late-game and spinning, respectively, and Tsareena is also immune to Shadow Sneak.

**Special Attackers**: Powerful special attackers can easily prey on Doublade's awful Special Defense. Salazzle and Inteleon can both OHKO it after Stealth Rock with their STAB moves, and Heliolisk and Rotom-C can exploit it for pivoting opportunities. Strong resisted special STAB moves from the likes of Dragalge, Exploud, and Choice Specs Sylveon also potentially 2HKO Doublade. Indeedee-F is especially problematic, 2HKOing Doublade with Expanding Force or a coverage move, disrupting it with Trick, and nullifying Shadow Sneak with Psychic Terrain.

**Physical Walls**: Mantine, Weezing, and Talonflame are excellent answers to Doublade, as they can all take hits from +2 Doublade and turn it into fodder by burning it. The uncommon Arcanine fully counters Doublade, taking any hit with ease due to Intimidate and hitting back hard with Flamethrower. While Vaporeon does not appreciate taking +2 Close Combat, it is also a workable check in a pinch if it can produce a Scald burn.

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale checks Doublade well at full health due to Stamina, but it can be a shaky answer because it is easily worn down and can only 3HKO with Earthquake. Quagsire is totally unbothered by Doublade due to Unaware and its resistance to Iron Head, and it can burn Doublade or chip it down with Earthquake. Golurk can survive an unboosted Shadow Sneak and threaten huge damage with a STAB move, while Silvally-Ground easily takes a boosted Shadow Sneak and OHKOes Doublade with +2 Multi-Attack after Stealth Rock.

**Sirfetch'd**: In addition to carrying Knock Off, Sirfetch'd is the only physical attacker in the tier that can outright OHKO Doublade through Eviolite thanks to Scrappy and its nuclear Choice Band-boosted or critical hit Close Combat. Sirfetch'd also takes +2 Shadow Sneak well, so Doublade becomes ineffective defensively if Sirfetch'd is the opponent's physical attacker of choice.

However, Doublade's meager Special Defense in spite of Eviolite means even powerful resisted STAB moves from the likes of Exploud, Indeedee-F, and Dragalge threaten to 2HKO it, making it awkward to fit on teams as a Steel-type. Doublade's total lack of reliable recovery allows Pokemon that it wants to check, most importantly Tyrantrum and Copperajah, to defeat it over time with super effective coverage, and makes Doublade an ineffective long-term spinblocker (I understand the last point here, but it could be clearer. Right now it could imply that tyrantrum and copper are spinners, or the reader just wouldnt know why spinners have an edge. I would add the spinblocker portion near the beginning, making this point more about that the lack of recovery + vulnerability to common coverage attacks means it fails as a long-term check and spinblocker versus trum, copper, and Tsareena). Also, many physical attackers such as Passimian, Toxicroak, and Escavalier commonly run Knock Off, which severely damages Doublade and removes most of its defensive presence provided by Eviolite. While Doublade is powerful after setting up, it is also not exceedingly difficult to wall, with bulky Pokemon like Mantine, Talonflame, and Mudsdale able to take it on, and it is easy to revenge kill due to its overreliance on a relatively weak Shadow Sneak to handle faster threats.

Despite its limited coverage, Iron Head is important to threaten Fairy-types, particularly Diancie, and cover certain neutral targets such as Vileplume and Dragalge (STAB moves usually don't need a sentence but I understand that you want to justify Iron Head over its other STAB attack, shadow claw, so feel free to keep this). Shadow Sneak primarily hits faster Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Decidueye, Golurk, and Starmie, OHKOing all of them at +2 with Stealth Rock support, as well as weakened, frail Pokemon like Salazzle. Close Combat is a powerful weapon against Copperajah and Snorlax and gives Doublade a way to strike back against faster Dark-types like Guzzlord and Scrafty. The listed EVs allow Doublade to outspeed Dhelmise and defensive Copperajah.

As chip damage is so detrimental to Doublade's walling ability, it needs to be paired with Pokemon that can provide it with Wish support, such as Vaporeon or Sylveon. Vaporeon can also take on many of the Fire-, Water-, and Ground-types that trouble Doublade, while Sylveon can check Dark-types and Sirfetch'd for it. Vileplume is a strong partner for Doublade, functioning as a Knock Off and Poltergeist absorber and luring in lure for Pyschic-types such as Xatu for Doublade to take advantage of.(trimmed fluff / kept the same tense) Weezing forms a potent physically defensive core with Doublade, handling Ground-types and Sirfetch'd for it. As Doublade cannot reliably use its set of resistances against special attackers, Diancie is an excellent teammate, checking Dragalge and Exploud while setting up Stealth Rock for Doublade and appreciating the latter's matchup against Steel-types. Guzzlord is a strong partner for similar reasons, checking Salazzle, Rotom-C, Heliolisk, and Zoroark for Doublade, while Drapion handles Indeedee and Decidueye, and both can weaken Mudsdale and Escavalier with Knock Off for Doublade to break through them (While these last two sentences were great, this section is getting verbose, so combine the Diancie + Guzzlord points into one sentence about special walls and some of the threats they alleviate pressure for Doublade). Doublade appreciates a partner that can deal with faster Pokemon unbothered by Shadow Sneak, such as Heliolisk, Zoroark Exploud, (Zoroark mentions should be replaced, it's too irrelevant) and Tsareena; Passimian is a good candidate for this, and also provides U-turn to give Doublade opportunities to come into play.

Shadow Claw gives Doublade a stronger hit against Talonflame, Dhelmise, and Mantine and retains perfect coverage with Close Combat––however, Iron Head's matchups are better (trimming fluff, you already mentioned these perks for the most part above, so we don't need to reiterate here as much as we just need to again say Iron Head is better). However, Doublade much prefers Iron Head's overall power, flinch chance against important slower walls such as Mudsdale, and ability to destroy Fairy-types. (Rock Slide when baiting Talonflame, and Toxic when baiting general physical walls, especially Mudsdale)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Knock Off**: Knock Off users are very dangerous for Doublade to take on, since they can circumvent its excellent physical bulk by removing its Eviolite while hitting it super effectively. Escavalier, Toxicroak, and Machamp can all take an unboosted hit from Doublade and open up themselves or a physically attacking teammate by catching it with a boosted Knock Off. Passimian and Tsareena can also threaten Doublade with Knock Off on the switch so that it cannot easily prevent them from cleaning late game and spinning, respectively, and the latter is also immune to Shadow Sneak.

**Special Attackers**: Powerful special attackers can easily prey on Doublade's awful Special Defense. Salazzle, Zoroark, and Inteleon can all OHKO Doublade after Stealth Rock with their STAB moves, and Heliolisk and Rotom-C can abuse it for pivoting opportunities. Strong resisted special STAB moves from the likes of Dragalge, Exploud, and Choice Specs Sylveon also threaten Doublade with a potential 2HKO.

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale checks Doublade well at full health due to Stamina, but it can be a shaky answer because it is easily worn down and can only manage a 3HKO with Earthquake. Quagsire is totally unbothered by Doublade due to Unaware and its resistance to Iron Head and can burn Doublade or chip it down with Earthquake. Golurk can take an unboosted Shadow Sneak and threaten huge damage on Doublade with a STAB move, while Silvally-Ground easily takes a boosted Shadow Sneak and OHKOs Doublade with +2 Multi-Attack after Stealth Rock.

**Psychic Terrain**: Offensive teams featuring Indeedee-F are very difficult for Doublade to face, as Psychic Terrain nullifies Shadow Sneak against most targets and leaves Doublade easily picked off by faster attackers as a result. Indeedee-F itself can take an unboosted hit from Doublade and easily 2HKO it with Expanding Force, Mystical Fire, and Shadow Ball or sabotage Doublade's offensive and defensive presence with Trick.

**Sirfetch'd**: In addition to carrying Knock Off, Sirfetch'd is the only physical attacker in the tier that can outright OHKO Doublade through Eviolite thanks to Scrappy and its nuclear Choice Band or critical hit Close Combat. Sirfetch'd also takes +2 Shadow Sneak well, so Doublade becomes unable to perform its walling duties if Sirfetch'd is the opponent's physical attacker of choice.

QC 1/2! Great work. Let's wait till the meta settles a little for the second QC; could be worthwhile to mention Doublade as a check to Trick Room Stakataka if that set takes off, for example, but it's too early to tell. For now, the writing was very solid and I really only trimmed a little here and there. Once again, great job!

Weezing forms a potent physically defensive core with Doublade, handling Ground-types and Sirfetch'd for it while also switching into Knock Off from foes like Tsareena and Toxicroak. As Doublade cannot reliably use its set of resistances against special attackers, Diancie, Guzzlord, and Drapion Snorlax are excellent teammates, checking Pokemon like Exploud, Heliolisk, and Indeedee for Doublade Indeedee-F, respectively. The former also sets up Stealth Rock for Doublade and the latter two can wear down its checks with Knock Off. (general enough support points to where it's not overly helpful to mention in this context) Doublade appreciates a partner that can deal with faster Pokemon unbothered by Shadow Sneak, such as Heliolisk, Exploud, and Tsareena; Passimian is a good candidate for this, and also provides U-turn to give Doublade opportunities to come into play.

The prose is overall quite good, but make sure you reread this and pay attention to verb conjugations. QC 2/2 when done.
