Starting with
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold
EV's: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spe
Wish
Protect
Surf
Ice Beam
Instead of Vaporeon, I might use this as my other lead:
Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Timid
EV's: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe, 30 IV's in Attack and Defense (for HP Ice at 70 Base Power)
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast
Hidden Power [Ice]
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Levitate
Naive
EV's: 4 Atk/252 SpA/252 Spe
Stealth Rock
Explosion
Taunt
Fire Blast
I've been play-testing the Vaporeon/Azelf lead at the Plat Battle Tower. Vaporeon Protects, Azelf goes boom.
I also use this Azelf set as a lead in Standard Battles, but Stealth Rock isn't needed for double battles because I have Azelf explode right away (I might give him Choice Scarf to ensure he goes first.) I'm also debating whether I should lead with a Vap/elf combo or Gengar/elf. Gengar's immune to Explosion, and he's an effective sweeper/revenge killer.
The cleanup crew:
Salamence @ Choice Specs
Intimidate
Modest
EV's: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Draco Meteor
Hydro Pump
Fire Blast
Dragon Pulse
Lucario @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
Adamant
EV's: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
ExtremeSpeed
Close Combat
Swords Dance
Crunch
Finishes off whatever's left. Not much else to say for these two. I might put Stone Edge on Luke though, as I don't need Crunch if I have ScarfGar. I haven't picked my 5th and 6th Pokemon (because of the limit of 4) - I'll have to see what works well together before making that decision.
