Double Dragon: A Hyper Offensive Team

Hey, this is my first RMT and I could definitely use the help as I'm really not the best team builder or battler. I chose to go hyper offensive because I enjoyed the style of play a lot better than any other. Weather wars were unappealing to me, long battles bored me and gimmicks like trick room and gravity simply didn't seem viable to me.

Team At A Glance:

My team is evidently hyper offensive and it revolves around the abuse of entry hazards to wear down the opponent's pokemon to make sweeping easier. The use of both chomp and mence may look strange but SD stall/wall breaker chomp is able to roughen up all of mence's counters so he can come in and clean up with scarf+moxie.

Team In-Depth:
Garchomp:
images

Garchomp @ rocky helmet
Trait : Rough Skin
EVs 4hp/252atk/252spd
jolly nature
-earthquake
-outrage
-fire fang
-swords dance
Garchomp was the starting point of my team. I wanted to capitalize on his bulk while still maintaining his ability to do damage and abuse his trollish 102 speed stat. I decided that swords dance was the best way to do this because of +2 fire fang's ability to potentially 2hko skarmory after rocks. Surviving +2 breloom's mach punch makes him great at scoring a kill by retaliating after taking a hit. Rocky helmet may seem odd at first but when combined with rough skin contact moves take off 29% each from the enemy pokemon. Because all priority except ice shard and vacuum wave are contact as well as the fact that u-turn is a contact move (plus chomp is immune to volt switch) allows Garchomp to shut down priority based revenge killers and volt turn cores. He is great at supporting the team and doing huge amounts of damage over large amounts of time.

Salamence:
images

Salamence @ choice scarf
trait : moxie
EVs: 252atk/4Spatk/252spd
naive nature
-draco meteor
-outrage
-earthquake
-flamethrower
Salamence was the second pokemon I added to my team, it may seem strange considering he shares a near identical typing with Garchomp but they play very different roles. Because of moxie when the opponents team is weakened they often have to choose between taking two outrages without a boost or a +1 outrage, making it very hard to wall at all. He can come in and instantly clean up Chomp's mess. A naive nature is given to stand priority slightly better, giving genesect a download boost is no big deal when ice beam is going to destroy me regardless. The other three moves are totally situational but are there if Mence is needed to revenge something that it can't beat with outrage like scarf heatran or metagross or something physically defensive but specially weak .

Deoxys-D:
images

Deoxys-D @ mental herb
Trait : Pressure
EVs: 252hp/4Spatk/252Spdef
calm nature
-stealth rock
-spikes
-taunt
-psycho boost
Deoxys-D is infamous as a suicide lead for HO teams, filling the void Deoxys-S left in our hearts. Mental herb allows it to taunt faster taunters and set up hazards and psycho boost is a 140bp Stab that is situational at worst and scores a nice 60% chunk out of something at best. I added him after I realized how important hazards were to plenty of KOs for my other pokemon as well as how full proof it was as a lead so I didn't have to do to much predicting what the opponent will lead with. The only thing that really gets past him are magic bounce pokemon and CB sect or Ttar.

Weavile:
images

Weavile @ life orb
trait : pressure
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252spd
jolly nature
-ice punch
-ice shard
-low kick
-night slash
Weavile provides extremely important priority to the team and can also beat other weakened priority users because of its great speed stat. The fact that it can OHKO and outspeed tornadus-t without priority or a scarf makes it a very potent all out attacker and revenge killer. dark/fighting has amazing coverage, ice/fighting has amazing coverage and Weavile has both. He can OHKO Ttar as well as both magic bounce users so Deoxys-D can do his job flawlessly. He OHKOs tons of frailer weaker threats and outspeeds alakazam and hits him with a super effective stab. He's a team player who doesn't last long but does his job with impunity.

Genesect:
images

genesect @ expert belt
trait: download
EVs:4atk/252spatk/252spd
hasty nature
-u-turn
-ice beam
-thunderbolt
-flamethrower
Gensect is another pokemon with unrivaled coverage. Weavile is an amazing revenger and in all honesty I find scarf gensect to be pathetically underwhelming. Especially since he has amazing coverage and never uses it because he's always spamming u-turn instead. He can often score a kill with t-bolt or flamethrower then kill a ground type who assumes I'm locked into t-bolt when they switch in. It fakes out tons of people and can also fix troublesome items like breaking sashes and balloons to allow a Chomp to easily revenge balloontran.

Rotom-W
images

Rotom-W @ choice specs
trait: levitate
EVs 4hp/252spatk/252spd
timid nature
-hydro pump
-volt switch
-trick
-hidden power [grass]
Rotom joins with genesect to form a volt turn core, allowing me to easily force switches and keep up pressure. He provides another valuable immunity to the team without complcating it with a stealth rock weakness. He's a special attacker which is helpful and makes sure the team isn't stopped dead by a fully physical wall like hippowdon. I chose choice specs because he needed to hit much harder and he isn't going to be outspeeding much at 86 speed even with a scarf. I changed the hidden power to grass, which may seem strange but I was being constantly walled by lanturn and gastrodon that were there to counter rain teams. I couldn't afford to lose momentum and I hit nothing notable with hidden power ice or fire.

That's the team itself. The main threats I've been failing to cover are mostly any 101 speed or higher scarfer that are resistant to ice shard and venusaur. Venu can usually be played around with prediction as well as ice shard but scarfers simply ruin me unless they lock themselves into a move that genesect resists so I can force them out or KO them. Recently I lost twice to scarf Starmie even though I was able to defeat it because it weakened my team to much. Weather has been no problem and stall has been ineffective because of my ability to force switches.

That's the team. Any rates are very much appreciated and thanks for reading.

Hey there and great use of Hyper Offense! Now, hyper offense is one of the best playstyles out there and the best one in my opinion. With tons of sweepers to choose from, it's hard to put six in a team, like you have done with this team, so kudos to you. But what are we here for? We're not here for me to talk about hyper offense teams while you just listen, we're here to make suggestions to help this team improve, so let's get into it shall we? Okay, I'll kick off this rate by saying that I cannot find any glaring weaknesses, so I'll just go ahead and suggest some EV Spreads and moveset changes. I also might have to change a Pokemon or two, so please bear with me, okay? Firstly, on Salamence, I would run Fire Blast over Flamethrower due to its much higher base power. Moving on to your Deoxys-D set, I would change it to a Suicide Lead over the set that you currently have. The reason for this set is that this seems to be a hazard stacking offense, and nobody does it better than Deo-D, as with this set, it can set up a layer of Stealth Rock, a few layers of spikes and then die because you're all set with your hazards, but watch out for rapid spinners as they can get in the way of this strategy. On Weavile, I highly suggest that you use the Swords Dance set over your current one. The main reason for this is that Weavile functions as a late-game sweeper and can sweep a weakened team just like Salamence. It can also function as a back-up sweeper if you already have a Scarfed revenge killer like you do on this team. That's all I have to say for this team, I hoped I helped you just a little bit. Have fun and good luck with your team!

Thank you for the rate. I ran flamethrower on Mence because the absolute last thing I wanted to do was miss an important KO because of the RNG. However if it nets me an important KO/2HKO that flamethrower doesn't in rain or something I will definitely consider it and will run calcs right away.

As for Deoxys-D that set looks much better because often times I would get my hazards up then just be sitting there because I haven't died, can't do anything and it costs me momentum to hard switch. I'll test the EVs however I feel I need to keep mental herb+taunt to make sure I'm not taunt bait and can stop pokemon that try to set up alongside me while I get my hazards up.

As for Weavile I feel I need ice punch and ice shard for power and priority, rather than choose between the two. Swords dance is often for not because of how frail Weavile is and that it often isn't staying in for long. Mence isn't really for revenging either, he's mostly a cleaner who absolutely needs the initial speed. However if you think it would allow weavile to function better I'd be willing to change it. My only gripe is that he's usually only in for around 2 turns and 1 +2 attack is equal to 2 +0 attacks.

Again thanks and I'm going to go check these out, see if it's a significant improvement. The deoxys EVs look to be the most significant change.
