SS OU Double Trouble

Welcome! Thank you again for coming; The idea behind this is simple. Ideally set up rain and or electric terrain and sweep whichever is ideal depending on the situation.I usually lead with either pelipper, tapu koko, or landorus. I’m thinking I could change the Evs on a few mons

Pelipper @ Focus Sash
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Hydro Pump
- Hurricane
- U-turn

I opted or focus sash over damp rock. It allows to get a little bit more damage off before dying. Debating on heavy duty boots would but being a hyper offense team they might be a better item Pretty standard set.

Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Flip Turn
- Liquidation
- Close Combat

Thanks to pelipper this speed tier is almost untocuched. Set has priority, pivot move and a great stab and strong coverage option.

Tapu Koko @ Terrain Extender
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

Hawlucha @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
Get an unburden boost and win. Usually the cleaner of the team but this team is great in the sense you can switch the style to help you get the best matchup chance.

Magnezone @ Magnet
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder
- Rising Voltage
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
Thunder for the rain as it appreciates half fire damage. Rising voltage if terrain is up and just starts nuking things. Flash cannon is okay coverage haven’t really had to use it too much. Volt switch to keep momentum

234.png

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- U-turn
Hazzard setter of the team knock off to knock off items and earthquake for Stab. U turn to keep momentum.

So that’s my team together it’s pretty good. The ability to go rain team or electric terrain team if needed is nice. I think the biggest change I could do is perhaps some ev changes but not too sure. Thank you for dropping by!

Unforunately, you cannot have both Barraskewda and Hawlucha on the same team. The issue is that rain is a highly restrictive playstyle. There is little to no room to use flexibility on a rain team. This means that you can only go either a rain team or a hyper offense team, depending on which one you choose. Now, I'll try to give my advice on both

I'll start with rain

On a rain team, you almost always need :damp rock: on :Pelipper:. Thanks to its reliable recovery and u turn, you can afford to extend the rain turns. Unlike last gen, you really need the rain turns because gen eight rain abusers suck balls

:Barraskewda: seems fine to me

Next, replace :Magnezone: with :Ferrothorn:. Magnezone has no business being on a rain team. Rain boosted choice band liquidation is already enough to brute force thru most water types and rain should have no trouble dealing with metal birds. If you're having trouble against metal birds as a rain team, then it is a bad rain team. Ferrothorn will prove to be an issue but there is a perfect solution for that which I'll mention later

Aside from Ferrothorn, you absolutely need a ground type. Like with Magnezone, :Landorus-Therian: has no business being on a rain team. You are already weak to water type hits. You do not want to be more vulnerable than you already are. Instead, you wanna put in :Seismitoad: since it can abuse the rain and is a ground type

For the next slot, you want a hurricane user on your team. If you don't have one, then Rillaboom, especially sd variants, tears rain apart. There are many options for this slot but the most common two are :tornadus-therian: and :zapdos:. Tornadus is fast and has nasty plot while Zapdos has access to thunder. Now, the reason why Zapdos is a good pick is because you cannot afford to use a thunder user on the last slot. Why? Because your team will be completely helpless against Kyurem. It will spam ice beam and there is nothing you can do about it, especially if its specs. Zapdos compresses both hurricane and thunder into one slot but comes at the cost of reduced damage and slower speed. Tornadus has access to a boosting move and hurricane but comes at the cost of no thunders. In the end, this is your choice. Also, you can use galarian Articuno or Moltres on this but Zapdos and Tornadus is usually the proven ones

Finally, the last one on a rain team is the only free one. For the maximum consistency, spdef :Scizor: is the best pick as it is one of the best hard counters to Kyurem, which as already mentioned, is a massive threat. However, rather than try to be safe, I will instead recommend :Volcanion:. This is because Ferrothorn is also a huge pain for rain teams and rain boosted steam eruptions will two shot anything that isn't a max spdef Ferrothorn. Volcanion will also serve as a deterrent. Its presence should make Kyurem think twice about clicking its ice moves. Combined with Ferrothorn, it should think twice about clicking even freeze dry. It's definitely not fool proof but on a weather team, especially rain, you really have little options to play with

Here's a sample team

Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Scald
- U-turn

Barraskewda @ Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flip Turn
- Liquidation
- Close Combat
- Psychic Fangs

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Body Press

Seismitoad @ Life Orb / Mystic Water
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Weather Ball
- Stealth Rock

Volcanion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Flamethrower
- Steam Eruption

For the birds, choose one among these

Tornadus-Therian @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Hurricane
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot

Zapdos @ Heavy Duty Boots
Ability: Static / Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Roost
- Thunder
- Hurricane
- Weather Ball

If you wanna be creative, then you can choose among these instead but as I mentioned, they're unproven

Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Hurricane
- Scorching Sands

Moltres-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots

Modest Nature

Articuno-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots

Modest Nature

- Agility
- Hurricane
- Freezing Glare

Now, if you want to go hyper offense, then you are gonna have to ditch everything but Tapu Koko and Hawlucha

Starting things off is your suicide lead. Atm, I think :Mew: is a really strong pick since it has access to both spikes and stealth rock. You will need a defog deterrent

For the next slot, you want something to deter defog. :Bisharp: is an incredibly strong choice since it has access to sd, knock off and priority. Now, you will be in trouble against Tapu Lele but there really are very little options as a defog deterent

Next, you wanna add in :Garchomp: to your team. Chomp is an incredibly strong pokemon on hyper offense since it can serve as a sweeper and wall breaker all in one. It should not serve as your main sweeper, that's what Hawlucha is for, but it is an incredibly strong pick nonetheless

Lastly, you want another sweeper. :Bisharp: and :Garchomp: already serve as your wall breakers so something to help Hawlucha will be nice. One that I can think of quickly is :Volcarona:. It appreciates the pressure that Chomp and Lucha put on its nemesis, Heatran, and combined with hazards, can feasibly get rid of it for Volc. Not to mention that if there is no Heatran, then Volcarona is very happy about it

For :Tapu Koko:, you want to use a screens set with :light clay:. This will provide your team with the much needed longevity a hyper offense lacks

Finally, use taunt > stone edge on :Hawlucha:. Zapdos is incredibly rare these days so you don't really need stone edge. Also, fighting Zapdos should not be Hawlucha's job. It should be Garchomp's. Taunt will allow you to not get stuffed by Toxapex, which is the biggest thorn in everyone's side

Here is a sample team if you wanna go that route

Mew @ Red Card
