Hey, it’s me again, coming up with another doubles weather team! This time I decided to make an offensive sunny day team. This team is made to set up Sunny Day and sweep using the move Lava Plume and occasionally Heat Wave. My main sweepers are Flareon, Heatran, and Arcanine. So here goes my team!

Team in Depth:

My EXPLODING Leads
bronzong.png

Bronzong @ Heat Rock
Heat Proof
Impish 128 HP / 128 Atk / 252 Def
-Sunny Day
-Explosion
-Stealth Rock
-Protect
Opinion: Bronzong starts up my team’s fun. Shiftry will have Bronzong back by blocking any potential taunters with fake out allowing Bronzong to use Sunny Day with ease. At first I was considering Drifblim for this spot since he is a ghost, but the chances of a Bronzong lasting a turn is a better chance then Drifblim.

Move Selection:
Sunny Day: Bronzong begins the fun with a Sunny Day that strengthens fire type moves like Lava Plume and makes Shiftry much faster so he can explode.
Explosion: All of my leads can go out in a bang thanks to this move. My Shiftry’s Solarbeam keeps Pokemon with the ability Damp in check and dark pulse stops ghost types.
Stealth Rock: Stealth Rock is excellent for a lead. It does decent damage to foes coming in.
Protect: To safely dodge Shiftry’s Explosion I decided to put this here.

shiftry.png

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Chlorophyll
Mild 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Solarbeam
-Fake Out
-Dark Pulse
-Explosion
Opinion: Shiftry gets rid of many things that stand in Explosion’s way. He also helps Bronzong set up. When Bronzong sets up Shiftry’s speed is doubles thanks to Chlorophyll.

Move Selection:
Solarbeam: Solarbeam gets rid of any Water type Pokemon with the ability Damp. It doesn’t need to charge up thanks to Sunny Day and provides stab.
Fake Out: Fake Out allows Bronzong to set up without to many problems.
Dark Pulse: This powerful dark type move gets rid of any Ghost Pokemon standing in Shiftry’s and Bronzong’s way to EXPLOSION!
Explosion: A powerful BONECRUSHING move! Explosion hopefully won’t KO Bronzorg after some proper testing I’ll decide if I need to replace Bronzorg with a ghost type.

Sunny PLUMERS!
flareon.png

Flareon @ Life Orb
Flash Fire
Modest 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
-Protect
-Sunny Day
-Lava Plume
-Hidden Power Grass
Opinion: Flareon does this role better then most Pokemon I could find which is why I have him. Combined with Heatran his power soars and can do some very decent damage.

Move Selection:
Protect: When Bronzong Explodes Protect is here to avoid the damage!
Sunny Day: When I’m out of my Vitamin C, Flareon has Sunny Day to bring up the sun again.
Lava Plume: This is the first appearance of Lava Plume. Lave Plume increases Heatran’s power and hits BOTH opponents at once! Dealing some massive damage!
Hidden Power Grass: In case any ground or water types come in to ruin my fun, Hidden Power Grass stops them.

heatran.png

Heatran @ Life Orb
Flash Fire
Modest 248 HP / 56 SpA / 204 SpD
-Lava Plume
-Earth Power
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
Opinion: Heatran is a very popular Pokemon in the OU metagame and for good reason to. Heatran has a very high Special Attack, Defense, and Special Defense. Thanks to Flareon, who powers up Heatran with Lava Plume, Heatran’s strength has intensified.

Move Selection:
Lava Plume: Lave Plume increases Heatran’s power and hits BOTH opponents at once! Dealing some massive damage! It also provides stab.
Earth Power: Earth Power has excellent coverage with Lava Plume, hitting Fire-types and Rock-types who resist it.
Rest: Heals Heatran, increasing survivability; and makes Heatran a special sponge.
Rest Talk: While still resting Heatran can continue to go on the offensive by using random moves to subdue his opponents.

The Vitamin C
exeggutor.png

Exeggutor @ Lum Berry
Chlorophyll
Modest 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Sunny Day
-Solarbeam
-Hidden Power Fire
-Sleep Powder
Opinion: Exeggutor is here as a ground resistor. He gets increased speed in the sun thanks to Chlorophyll

Move Selection:
Sunny Day: Sunny Day increases speed and up Hidden Power.
Solarbeam: With stab, 120 base power, and no charge time, Solarbeam becomes and excellent option.
Hidden Power Fire: Hidden Power Fire has increased power in the sun and can potentially charge up either Flareon or Heatran.
Sleep Powder: This move puts annoying Pokemon to sleep. Zzz Zz ZzZ...

cresselia.png

Cresselia @ Heat Rock
Levitate
Bold 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
-Sunny Day
-Moonlight
-Solarbeam
-Charge Beam
Opinion: Another popular legendary in the OU metagame. Cressila is very bulky and can last a long time, with moves like Solarbeam, Moonlight, and Sunny Day; I considered her to be the best choice for support.

Move Selection:
Sunny Day: When I’m out of my Vitamin C, Cresselia has Sunny Day to bring up the sun again.
Moonlight: instead of just like the regular recover with only a 50% max health recovery, Moonlight has a wiping 67% max health recover in the sun! Greatly increasing Cresselia’s survivability.
Solarbeam: with a base power of 120, 100% accuracy and no charge time in the sun I would have to be crazy not to put this down.
Charge Beam: I really don’t know what to put here, so I put down Charge Beam so Cresselia can have another Special Attack and have in an increase in Special Attack to. This spot is basically up for grabs so do what ever you want with it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where that’s my Sunny Day team! Do what ever you want with it, rate it / test it / steal it. Every single post helps and is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I'm utterly inexperienced in the doubles metagame, so please don't jump on me if I say something wrong XD

The double Lava Plume idea actually sounds very good, but a well-predicted earthquake could spell doom for your team. Assuming that Shiftry and Bronzong have exploded, you only have one pokemon immune to ground type attacks (cresselia as you know). This means that if your opponent gets the chance to fire off an earthquake mid game, something is going to go down - I.E. : Flareon+Heatran are on the field. You only have cresselia to switch to so at least one of Flareon/Heatran/Houndoom is going.

As I have already stated, I have next to no experience of doubles but I would assume that earthquake is quite commonplace due to it hitting all pokemon so I would make some provision for this.

A simple suggestion would be to try and drop Flareon for something that would better the synergy of your team and still again a benefit / put up with your team's theme. A suggestion that comes to mind right away would be to encorporate something like an Exeggutor or Jumppluff. They would remove one of your team's main weakness's and get a benefit from Sunday.

You would then want to consider what needs to be done to remove one of your pokemon with a fighting type weakness. I suggest going for Houndoom, because more than one Pokemon with Flash Fire won't do you any good... Well, at least in single battles...

Good luck with your team!

why not replace houndoom with Exeggutor, and then have flareon swap spots with Exeggutor?
Can anyone tell me if thats a good option or not?

EDIT: for those of you voting on the poll don't just be a total dick and say "horrible!" And not give a logical reason why you chose that option *cough* Sheep *cough*

That would improve the synergy better now that you mention it. However, Flareon is weak to stealth rock, which may not be too much of a problem... Especially considering Flareon would be the only Pokemon on your team weak to it. I think Flareon could be pretty good especially since it learns Lava Plume!

A common switch in to Cressy is tar and that set just lets him set up easily. Your whole team is actually really Tar weak so running any bulky ground or something like scizor helps that, or you could just run Dugtrio to get rid of him completely.
