DP Stantler

I’ve been using this Stantler set in UU, and I personally think it should become a whole set, instead of just in other options, because its so easy to set up, and then open sweeps!

Hypnosis helps give easy setup for Light Screen and Reflect, which helps open sweeps for the likes of Absol and Kabutops. The idea is simple, merely Hypnosis a Pokémon, or Stantler’s counter, then setup both screens. Intimidate also helps force switches if one of your opponents team is already asleep, which furthermore helps setup. Earthquake is a great way of dealing with Aggron and Golem. Note Light Clay is an option, to let both screens last longer. Body Slam's 30% paralysis rate can also help cripple threats such as Primeape and Hypno, who want to take the expected Hypnosis. Thunder Wave can take this slot too if you want to use it, due to Body Slam's paralysis not being guarunteed.

I like this, it'd be cool if Stantler got Stealth Rock too...

Anyway, perhaps Thunder Wave (or Body Slam) could be an option over Hypnosis or Earthquake, as a means of crippling a switch in like Primeape.

What Havak said, T-Wave should be an option, especially if you're shying away from using Body Slam. How much does a CB Primape Close Combat do after Reflect? Can Stantler beat it 1 on 1?

I used to run a set almost like yours. I used Confuse ray, Thunder Wave, Light Screen and Earthquake. I also am for Thunder Wave and even Confuse Ray as other options. You could also try a Lum Berry as another item option so Persians dont screw you over. But yea, really cool set.

EDIT:

Lol, I thought I was being original.

That's pretty much the original set in the analysis you just described. Light Clay is superior to Lum Berry here for the 8 turns of screens it provides. I can see this being an effective lead, if only ScarfApe and now Aerodactyl were less common.

Tortured Soul, I've mainly used this as UU, I found it works better mid-game, due to the amount of sleepers you see early game ):
But I guess you could try it in OU as a lead :/

I'll add Thunder Wave.
Maximum attack Adamant Primape with CC after Reflect: 80.95% - 96.43%
Maximum attack CB Jolly Primape with CC after Reflect: 110.71% - 130.95%

So you would have to setup Reflect upon the switchin, then switch out to your normal Primape "counter" to take little.

He means Primeape (Scarfape) and Aerodactyl is UU now. On another note are UU leads whoring Taunt now? I havent played it in the longest x_x, just a concern because it stops it in its track.

Oh xD My mistake.

Well, I still think its better mid-game, because theres so many Persian's Hypnosis' at the start; which would immediately shut Stantler down. So its not so much Taunt, more sleep IMO.
