Welcome to the eleventh edition of Doubles Premier League!
Our annual auction-style draft returns once more! This year we will feature 8 teams to fight it out over a 7 week round robin regular season. The top 4 teams at the end of that phase will move on to the playoffs, where after 2 weeks we will crown a new DPL Champion once again!

The rules are as follows: We are looking for 8 teams that will receive 100k credits each to draft a squad of 8 starting players and at least 2 substitutes. This edition will feature 3x SV and 1x SS, SM, XY, BW, DUU.

There is an option to add co-managers.
Managers will be allowed to sign up with a co-manager, or alternatively choose a co-manager from their team after the draft. If a manager signs up with a co-manager, only one of them can be bought (and thus play). The other manager who is not bought cannot play at any phase, but will remain eligible for winner's prizes. Co-managers appointed after the draft will be allowed to play.

The formula for self-buying managers:
Manager prices deduced by the following formula:
((max(10,000, last auction price) + 10,000 + (1,500 * all wins last DPL))/2) rounded up to the nearest .5k

Teams will be able to retain players from their franchise’s last year team. Teams will be limited to either two retains, or one retain and one manager self-buy.

The formula for retains will be as follows:
Last year’s draft price+3k OR 10k, whichever one is higher.

Why should you be a DPL manager: In my past three auction tours I have reached finals on every campaign with two victories. Unfortunately DPL was the one that got away so I'm looking to run it back. I love managing and putting together exciting team environments. I have plenty of experience for all the tiers on offer in the tournament and will be active in helping all slots succeed. Arcticblast is my right-hand man, he is very reliable and balances out my hot-headedness. Just a few weeks ago we were chowing down on tacos and chips and salsa together. That's my guy.
If you could remove any one pokemon from existence, what would it be and why?: Unown ! form. What's that guy so excited about? I don't like it.

Why should you be a DPL manager?:
Created iconic team in DPL2 and nearly lead them to finals.
Today I would make a much better captain than I was then, so I am sure we will win.

I have the best eye for talent, just consider these examples : drafted 3k matame in DPL2. Convinced Kylecole to pick up JRL for 3k in his first DPL (also tried convincing him to pick up Tenzai for 3k). I got yobuddy into competing in our smogon circuit tours because I saw how good he was in room tours. And I spotted madraaa on the ladder and helped him get involved in our community after seeing his potential in our friendly fights. So I am sure to spot under the radar talent again.

If I am not selected then I will curse someone else. The 3 times I was snubbed from manager bravious, stratos and arayquaza where picked instead. Where are they now?

And finally I have a fantastic Co-manager helping me, especially with SV.

If you could remove any one pokemon from existence, what would it be and why?: any and all snake type pokemon, they are evil creatures!

Why should you be a DPL manager?: I've done a lot of managing the last few years, putting up generally good results (top 4 and 2nd in derby, top 4 and 1st in dwcop, we don't talk about DPL IX or X). Kunal is a bit newer to managing in DOU tours but anyone who has interacted with him in a team chat would tell you he is consistently one of the best presences on any team. Lastly, and most importantly, if I am not selected, then I will curse Schister.

If you could remove any one pokemon from existence, what would it be and why?: I would remove Kyurem because he clicks freeze dry on kingdra :(

Why should you be a DPL manager?: we are as apt to manage as we were three years ago, but now that i win in this tier people will respect me instead of lynching me for no reason whatsoever so we will be able to win in peace

Why should you be a DPL manager?: I have plenty of experience managing in DOU tours like world cup and DPL, winning both of them as a manager. Akaru has managed LATAM in DOU world cup for several years and won it as a manager as well. We also have experience out of DOU being managers in lots of spanish community tours.
We are familiar with every tier in the tournament and we both are able to help in any slot.
If you could remove any one pokemon from existence, what would it be and why?: Metagross so Akaru would need to find a better favourite pokemon

Why should you be a DPL manager?: I have extensive experience as a manager, particularly for DPL, and a strong knowledge of the different tiers and playerbases. Joining me this year is returning teammate ratpacker, who has managed before in DWCoP, and is more than familiar with helping prep across multiple slots even when not officially a manager.
If you could remove any one pokemon from existence, what would it be and why?: Tyranitar, because it counters FanRoom :changry:

Why should you be a DPL manager?: I have tons of experience playing oldgens + SV and would like to give managing a spin. Also have been around the community for longer than I'd like to admit so I'm pretty in touch with the playerbase. Bagel's managed DPL before and similarly has experience across multiple gens.

Why should you be a DPL manager?:
I’ve been leading Team France in both the UU and NU World Cups, and have managed in a wide range of major tournaments including PTPL, HPL, CNPL, BSSPL, UUbersPL, UMPL, UUSD, RUPL, and many more.
Since I started managing on Smogon in 2023, I’ve built a consistent and proven track record. I’ve won the UUFPL, reached the finals of the Spanish PL (EPL) in 2023 before winning it in 2024, won the NFE PL, and more recently secured victories in both the Teamballo (Italian PL) and the latest edition of the Chinese PL.
Those tournaments also played a big role in shaping my understanding of the DOU (Doubles OU) tier, as each of them featured it prominently, and all three ended the same way over the last six months: with a victory. My repeated success in Premier Leagues where DOU was present shows both strong tier knowledge and adaptability across different teams and environments.

Joining me as co-manager for this tournament is Shiritu, who managed Team Iberia at the final of the last World Cup. Shiritu is also well known in the tier thanks to strong performances during the OSDT, reaching the top cut last year, and again making it to round 9 this year.
The chemistry between Shiritu and me is exceptional, and together we’ve already achieved great success, including winning the Spanish PL (EPL) together. I’m confident that our combined experience and synergy will drive us to even greater heights in this tournament.

If you could remove any one pokemon from existence, what would it be and why? :carnivine: Carnivine :carnivine: . Honestly, I think it’s one of the most forgettable and, frankly, rather underwhelming designs out there. But since it’s already largely forgotten by the community, maybe it’s like it’s already been quietly removed in spirit!

Why should you be a DPL manager?: Xqiht and I both have prior experience managing in DOU team tournaments, I managed in last years DPL while Xqiht managed Team China in DWCoP and the Agnes Tachyon Cutters and Neigh Bark Town in Doubles Derby, and both times those Derby teams made playoffs. We have both been in the DOU community for quite some time so are pretty in touch with the playerbase and will be able to create a fun, friendly and competitive team environment.
