Hello everybody, I understand we have plenty of VGC RMTs but I was hoping I could squeeze mine in here and hopefully get some helpful critiques.
My two leads are as follows:
Archeops @ Flight Gem
EVs: 252Attack 252 Speed 4 HP
Jolly (+Speed -Sp attck)
Rock Slide
Acrobatics
Quick Attack
Taunt
I considered a FEAR archeops for a while but that is only remotely useful in singles, so quick attack is just for other sashed Pokes. Choice band could be run over Flight Gem but I rather enjoy the 247 BP Acrobatics supplies and Whimsicott could prove problematic without taunt. This guy serves as a OHKO'er as well as a distraction from this guy:
Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability:Moxie
EVs: 252 Attack 252 Speed 4 HP
Jolly
Hi Jump Kick
Crunch
Dragon Dance
Ice punch
I'm forcing the opponent to choose between two major threats. Dragon Dance gives him the speed to outrun base 111's and with Moxie his attack reaches pretty high levels. Ice punch is for Haxorus, Archeops and the like. He is also there as a Terrakion discouragement (I am NOT looking forward to all the inevitable Beat-Up combos).
Chandelure @ Focus Sash
Abililty: Flash Fire
Modest
EVs: 252 HP 252 Sp. Attack 4 Def
Heat Wave
Energy Ball
Psychic
Trick Room
Not Really sure I like the focus sash trick room setup but it HAS worked for me so far, especially against Excadrill. Psychic is to deal with the Conkeldurrs that may make it past Archeops, which is probably necessary because of the amount of Fighting weaknesses on my team. Energy Ball is for Jellicent if I am stuck with Chandelure on the field.
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
Relaxed
EVs: 252HP 252 Attack 4 Sp. Def
Gyro Ball
Power Whip
Leech Seed/Thunder Wave
Bulldoze
I'm not crazy about Ferrothorn in double battles, honestly. Bulldoze has been surprisingly useful, although this has been in standard OU rather than VGC. I am leaning slightly towards T-Wave as I run mostly slow pokemon, and that may help balance that. He is a good switch in for Chandelure and Jellicent, and the Rocky helmet stacks up alot of damage against Outrage Haxorus and the likes.
These are my two backups, as I am prejudiced against Jellicent, and Zoroark however fun is not always useful.
Zoroark @ Choice Scarf
Modest
Night Daze
Extrasensory
Flamethrower
Focus Blast
Obviously this one is a revenge killer, and a surprisingly successful one at that. When paired with chandelure as the last two they cover each other's immunities, and since the opponent sees my team before the match, forces them to make a guessing game. The major problem I have witnessed is the choice scarfed weather trio, but I could switch to timid to remedy that.
Jellicent @ Red Card
Ability: Water Absorb
Bold
EVs: 252HP 252 Sp Attack
Scald
Will-o-Wisp
Recover
Hex
He's here to wall, or with red card just PHaze threats like DD Scrafty, Conkeldurr or Haxorus from sweeping. He has good synergy with Chandelure as well as Ferrothorn, and even if I do not battle with him the opponent will be forced to plan for him. Hex can easily be replaced and is just there to rack up decent STAB damage post-burn.
Any and all advice/critiques would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.
