[OVERVIEW]

Dragapult is the fastest viable Pokemon in the VGC metagame while yielding strong offensive capabilities. It possesses strong offensive stats to pair with its wide coverage movepool, allowing it to quickly hit most targets for strong neutral or super effective attacks. With Clear Body and its incredible speed, it is able to quickly take down key threats such as Hydreigon and Gholdengo without fear of its stats being lowered.
Dragapult is often paired together with Follow Me users such as Maushold and Indeedee, who allow Dragapult to thrive longer while possessing Helping Hand to boost Dragapult's damage output. It also commonly paired with strong offensive attackers such as Gholdengo and Meowscarada to quickly cripple or pick up many KOs.
However, despite being incredibly fast and strong, Dragapult's weaknesses lie in its bulk, which rarely allow it do take more than two neutral attacks before going down. Fairy and Steel types resist Dragapult's attacks quite nicely, forcing Dragapult to rely on its other teammates to remove these threats.

[SET COMMENTS]

Dragon Darts is Dragapult's signature move, allowing it to hit both targets with a 50 Base Power STAB-boosted attack. With Life Orb, a +1 Dragon Darts can OHKO Hydreigon, and +2 Dragon Darts can further pick up KOs on Dragonite and Meowscarada.

Phantom Force is Dragapult's best physical Ghost type STAB move, allowing it to break through Protect. Due to Phantom Force being resisted by few Pokemon, in addition to it being a two-turn attack, Phantom Force can often be used to force a switch, allowing its partner to punish a potential switch-in. However, this can be swapped for Tera Blast if Fire coverage or a single-turn Ghost type attack is desired.

Dragon Dance allows Dragapult to raise its Attack and speed, allowing it to pick up more KOs and outspeed opposing threats in Tailwind. Dragon Dance can be safely set up alongside Screens, Fake Out, or Follow Me support, granting Dragapult many different methods to set up its Dragon Dances.

Dragapult is purely an offensive attacker, meaning it won't need any investment in bulk. Jolly allows Dragapult to outspeed every Pokemon naturally, but Adamant allows Dragapult to pick up more KOs on bulkier sets, in exchange for being outsped by Kilowattrel and Talonflame.

While not known for being a defensive Pokemon, Tera Steel is very strong as it allows Dragapult to resist hits it otherwise would not, allowing it to set up more Dragon Dances. Tera Fire provides Dragapult solid coverage against Steel types which resists Fairies, and Tera Ghost provides Dragapult with a single turn Ghost-type STAB move that is further boosted by Tera (x2 boost from Ghost being one of Dragapult's original types.)

[Special Attacker]
Move 1: Draco Meteor
Move 2: Shadow Ball
Move 3: Flamethrower/Tera Blast
Move 4: Thunderbolt/Protect [I promise the slashes will be gone]
Item: Life Orb, Choice Specs
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Timid, Modest
Tera types: Steel, Ghost, Dragon
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Draco Meteor's Base 130 Power combined with Life Orb or Choice Specs deals massive damage to any neutral target, or guaranteed OHKO on any Pokemon weak to Dragon.

Shadow Ball provides Dragapult with a solid Ghost type STAB move with no drawbacks. Shadow Ball allows it to hit multiple notable threats such as Armarouge, Annihilape, and Gholdengo for super effective damage.

Flamethrower is a great coverage move for Dragapult, allowing it to hit common threats such as Tera Steel Gholdengo, Meowscarada, and Amoonguss for super effective damage without drawbacks

If Choice Specs are equipped, Thunderbolt provides a consistent option to super effectively hit Water and Flying types such as Azumarill or Murkrow

A Timid nature in combination with 252 SpA EVs and 252 Spe EVs allows for Dragapult to output every relavent Pokemon in the metagame whilst maximizing its special output.

Tera type Steel allows it to eliminate its Fairy, Dark, and Ghost weaknesses for Dragapult to stick around on the field longer to inflict more damage. The Dragon and Ghost Tera types allow Dragapult to deal more damage with its STAB-boosted attacks, allowing it to pick up many KOs on Pokemon such as Annihilape and Murkrow.

Other Options:
Dragapult possess a wide variety of supporting moves, including Light Screen, Reflect, Will-o-Wisp, Helping Hand, and Thunder Wave. These supporting options allow Dragapult to quickly support its teammates by increasing bulk, inflicting status, or boosting damage output.
