Hey Smogon, KeyBladeMaster here and this is my absolute first RMT! I had success with a similar variant of this team last year, peaking at around 70 in the Pokemon Online server in the Pokemon Online game! I changed up a few things with the addition of new pokemons since last year and I find that it is still a powerhouse that wrecks most teams out there. While this team is far from perfect, and has a few obvious flaws, I feel that it completely ignores the meta/anti-meta, which is why it has been extremely successful for me. Anyway, onto the team!

Building the Team with the Dragon Core

My team last year that I had much success with was along the lines of Deoxys-S lead (now banned to uber tier TT_TT), Tornadus, Magnezone, Latios, Heatran, and Haxorus (MUAHAHAHAHA). I wanted to keep the general idea and wanted to keep my Haxorus, Latios, Tornadus, and Magnezone core.

612.gif

The reason why I wanted to keep Haxorus core is because he is choice banded and hits like a truck with Outrage (600+ Atk power is insane!). I wanted to keep that despite his mediocre speed as you'll see why ;).

381.gif

Latios is the replacement of my Deoxys-S lead. With choice scarf, it can hit fast and furiously and accomplish what Deoxys-S did in my old team.

641.gif

Tornadus, the crux of this entire strategy. With Prankster priority and access to a move called Tailwind, it makes my slow dragons into super speedy ones that hit like a truck ignoring pretty much any resistances.

462.gif

Magnezone is also key, killing off the metal types on the enemy team safely and preventing annoying Ferrothorn or Forretress from setting up too many hazards.

With this core, I've decided to add two more pokemons; one more defensive and one more offensive.

646-black.gif

For this, I simply looked up another pokemon who has the Prankster+Tailwind combo and lo and behold, Whimsicott was born. I also just looked up the highest Atk damage monster in the OU tier and came up with Kyurem-B who hits like a truck harder than Haxorus (with better stats too).

Now that the intro is finished, let's take a closer look!

Detailed Description

"Agile is the color of turquoise, hitting fast and escaping before the enemy can see. Taking revenge upon the fallen, turquoise feasts itself in speed and decimates enemy lines."

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power (Fire; 31HP IV, 30 ATK IV, 31 DEF IV, 30 SATK IV, 31 SDEF IV, 30 SPD IV)
- Trick

Your standard Latios with Choice Scarf. Hits fast, leads to scout, revenge-killing. No real strategy here other than what I've mentioned. If my pokemons are getting stalled, I use Trick to stop the stall and hopefully break the enemy team open for my dragon sweep. The surf is to hit pokemons like Gliscor, Heatran, etc. The Hidden Power Fire is obviously for the metal threats, namely Scizor, Ferrothorn, etc.

I needed one choice scarf on my team because I found that a choice scarf Terrakion tears this team apart in one hit (my team is very fragile). I needed preliminary checks against other choice scarfed pokemons, and the wide range of movepool and impressive speed of Latios made it the top candidate for its chosen spot on my team.

"Blue is the color of the sky, raining down support to its teammates while providing equal amount of destruction to the enemies below. Quick and reliable, blue manifests itself in the team spirit, providing synergy and setting the team up for the bigger plan."

Tornadus (M) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Taunt
- Acrobatics
- Tailwind

Tornadus is the center of this entire team. If he's dead, the team's deadliness is literally reduced by half. The substitute and taunt is used to break any stall teams. The flight gem powered acrobatics hits like a truck against pokemons who have no resistances to flying types. After Tornadus has run its course with breaking stall and hitting hard once with acrobatics and is on its deathbed, I quickly take advantage of Prankster and use Tailwind for the rest of my team. In case you don't know what it does, tailwind multiplies the my team's speed by two for the next three turns, perfect for Outrage.

The tailwind serves dual purpose as an insurance against an already speed boosted pokemons such as quiver danced Volcarona or other dragon type pokemons who managed to use dragon dance. Heck, it even works against Cloyster after shell smash. This doubled speed with Latios' choice scarf brings it to a whopping 900+ Spd on my Latios, letting it have free reign on the pokemon who had its speed boosted.

"Rust is the color of decay, the death of those who pride themselves in defense and protection. Rust slowly but surely wreaks deadly havoc onto those who defend themselves, leaving them vulnerable for the impending destruction."

Haxorus (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dragon Claw

My quick hitting Latios and Tornadus has done its job by hitting and crippling the enemy pokemons. Before Tornadus' death, he has left our Haxorus with a lovely gift by the name of tailwind. With the speed doubled, Haxorus does not play shy and goes full on the offensive, with max EVs into Atk and choice band to boot. This Haxorus reaches a staggering 648 Atk power with a STAB boosted outrage to lay waste to the enemy team. This dragon was designed to destroy and finish the job the lead pokemons failed to achieve.

Now locking into a outrage is usually a bad idea. If the enemy puts in a steel type, it usually takes two or three hits for them to die. Luckily, it does not matter in this case because Haxorus' job IS to bait out the steel resistances and crush them, albeit slowly, for the bigger threat later on. If Magnezone fails to draw out and cripple the enemy steel type, or if its just bad match up overall for Magnezone (namely Heatran and Metagross), I just brute force my way through it using outrage or the occasional earthquake backed by mold breaker (so it hits for certain). After the first wave of destruction, I usually leave my Haxorus to die so that I can switch into Whimsicott for the next wave of despair.

462.gif

"Steel is the color of sturdiness and reliability. It forges the foundation the team relies on, playing a crucial role in eliminating enemy threats while remaining strong as a wall. Steel will be the last color the enemies sees before their impending doom."

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Hidden Power (Fire; 31HP IV, 30 ATK IV, 31 DEF IV, 30 SATK IV, 31 SDEF IV, 30 SPD IV)
- Charge Beam
- Thunder Wave

Oh Magnezone, how crippled will this team be without your amazing trait and types. A steel pokemon who can trap other steel pokemons spell death to the enemy steel types, especially when they don't have any moves that can stop Magnezone from setting up. The main points of Magnezone is to pick apart steel types and prevent them from ruining my dragon rampage with its magnet pull trait. It can kill Ferrothorn, Forretress, Scizor, and other common steel type threats that resists dragon type moves. But its purpose doesn't just end there. If the enemy team doesn't have any move that can stop Magnezone, however, they're in for a world of hurt.

This is my secondary self-sustained setup pokemon who uses charge beam to rack up SAtk when the enemy steel type don't have any moves that can break Substitute in one hit. I usually use Substitute to prevent myself from getting statused and proceed to charge beam up until I have over 1000+ SAtk. I let the natural heal of leftovers to heal my subtitute damage. Many teams have fallen from the Ferrothorn allowing my Magnezone to get to 6 SAtk boosts. By abusing Thunderwave hax, using it as my lead move with substitute up and proceeding to substitute to wait for enemy pokemon to be paralyzed, I can wreck teams in one hit with either charge beam or hidden power. But of course, we can't forget its main role of removing steel type threats to allow my dragons to wreak havoc.

"Green is the color of life and playfulness. Playing tricks on the enemy while helping the team grow, green will always be viewed as the backbone of all teams hoping to have a successful and enjoyable win."

Whimsicott (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Encore
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Tailwind

Whimsicott, or as I like to call it, Whimsitroll, has only one purpose: to make the enemy pokemon setting up go through hell. Is that a Volcarona who started to quiver dance? Let me congratulate you... with an Encore. With Prankster priority, encore is a broken move that will continue to harass the enemy team. Is that a substitute? How about another one with an encore! Besides stalling and having fully defensive stats, its other role is the same as Tornadus; using tailwind as the focal point of our dragon rampage.

Whimsicott, believe it or not, has saved my team many types with its bulky stats, allowing me to safely switch into a powered extremespeed or other moves that allows me to switch in and switch out to one of my fast hitters. With its bulkiness and utility in the team, it provides the backbone of the fragile dragon sweep team.

"Red is the color of blood that will be spilt upon the arrival of this apocalypse. Red leaves no victims unscarred or unhurt; it is a double-edged sword with no regards to itself as long as it cuts the enemy flesh. Red is not only the color of life, but also the color of death; the death of the enemies it slashed during its rampage."

Kyurem-B @ Choice Band
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam

You thought Haxorus with 648 Atk was scary? Meet the pokemon with the highest base atk in the entirety of OU tier. With all of the its stats, except speed, outscaling Haxorus, and with the ice resistance that Haxorus doesn't have, this pokemon is the definition of overpowered. With the choice band I give it, it reaches a whopping 723 Atk power. This is Kyurem-B.

I'm going to be honest. 99/100 fights, the only move I'll be using is Outrage. Why? STAB boosted Outrage backed by 723 Atk power with choice band adamant nature hits like a 100-car train, even against steel types with good defense (not that there will be any left... after what Magnezone and Haxorus did). I haven't done the math yet, but from personal experience, I've TwoHKO'd Heatran, Metagross, Celebi, etc. This Outrage is absolutely outrageous because of the insane damage it provides without regards to the enemy pokemon type or EV spread.

However, lots of people have told me that the lack of speed on Kyurem-B will let it be killed by choice scarfed revenge killers or fast bullet punch hitters. Well, I had a Whimsicott who gave me doubled speed with the Tailwind bonus, bringing its speed up to a whopping 562. I also had a Magnezone who crippled the enemy steel pokemons. Now tell me, does a Kyurem-B using a STAB boosted outrage backed by 562 speed with no other steel pokemons left on the enemy team seem scary? It does to me.

Conclusion

This team is far from perfect. I've seen trick room variants tear this team apart as it heavily relies on outspeeding the opponents and crippling them quick and fast (to prevent too many entry hazards from coming up). I've also fallen victim to extremespeed centered teams as this team is very fragile and relies on hitting first, not last.

However, this team's strongest point is that it usually ignores what the enemy has. It is very forward and easy to use; a beginner with a little bit of prediction luck will easily tear apart an experienced player. This team is very powerful and beginner friendly, and relies on the enemy to have an overall squishy team (too many bulkies will leave this team empty handed after it has blown off all its combos).

I am open to criticism and again, this is my first RMT, so please treat me well ^^. Thank you all for reading and hope to hear from you soon.

Great team! Besides having magnezone on your team, you are extremely vulnerable to ice type moves, and other dragons who may outspeed you. Might I suggest switching haxorus for something that can tank or wall ice type moves well? Eviolite porygon 2 or dusclops might do. Other than that, I see no other flaws.

Howdy, I really like this team, it's an underused idea.

May I suggest replacing Tornadus' EV spread with 252 HP | 4 Atk | 252 Speed? Since Tornadus has three support moves, and only Acrobatics to attack, it might help you to make him more bulky, seeing as he moves first anyways. Just a suggestion, but then again I've never seen the team in action.

Hope this helped!

There doesn't seem to be anything that stops a Mamoswine from sweeping your team. Switch out the Tornadus for fighting or fire type.

@XlucariozX Thank you for your feedback. I've considered putting in Breloom in place of Haxorus for its technician mach punch to take care of speedy ice types/Mammoswine with ice shard, but overall, it reduces the team potential when fighting teams without said pokemons. I've found that just brute forcing my way through using Tornadus as OHKO kill bait to set up tailwind for Haxorus Outrage works the most efficiently. This is also the reason why I invested 32EVs into HP so that I can survive the initial ice shard and destroy during my outrage.

@saxtonhale Thanks for your feedback! I've actually tried that EV spread before, but the main reason why I am running full Atk EVs on Tornadus is because I can OHKO a SAtk Politoed with one Acrobatics. The point of Tornadus isn't to provide support but mainly just hit hard with one acrobatics and setup Tailwind before it dies next turn. The reason why it has so many support moves is because its to A. Prevent stalls and B. Make sure it dies. I usually burn through two or three substitutes on purpose so that I can die guaranteed while setting up Tailwind for Haxorus. Other than that, thank you!

@Okeado If you take a look at my response to XlucariozX, you'll see that Mammoswine does indeed pose a huge threat to my team. I use the method of brute forcing my way through it by investing into HP EVs on my dragons so that it'll survive the initial ice shard and proceed to wreak havoc with Outrage. Thank you for your feedback. I really need the Tornadus for the second Tailwind because the whole plan works by the sacrifice of these pokemons so that my next dragon will have the full duration of three Tailwind boosts (with lucky Outrage 3 turns through the whole thing).
