Hello everyone.
After a decent amount of time rating teams, I finally decided to actually make one. At first, I was thinking VGC, but I'm keeping my VGC teams a secret. Then I thought OU, but then I realized I didn't feel like adding ANOTHER garchomp abuse team to the OU RMT section. (I can't even begin to count the number of those which I rated. Or intended to rate and then exited because it was a garchomp team.) After all this, I finally decided on a UU team. I quickly got to work and came up with some ideas.

The original team was thought up in 15 minutes, literally. After extensive testing and laddering, I found that this team could actually work.

Team Focus:
Hit hard with powerful sweepers that can inflict damage either through set up or through sheer power. When the enemy comes to retaliate, sponge their attacks with defensive pivots that complement the sweepers with their sets, which are geared for support and survivability.

Boring Team Creation Story that no one looks at
560.gif

So, I saw scrafty, and I was sold, so I decided to add him to my lineup.

379.gif

I wanted to go with a pokemon that I didn't see used anymore, but was still a good option. That fateful minute, I stumbled across registeel. He sponges special hits, can set up stealth rock, and can thunder wave to support a scrafty sweep against choice scarf pokemon. Thus, registeel was added.

632.gif

While scrolling through options, I saw durant. After remembering that he got superpower from the BW2 move tutors, he was an insta-add. The sheer power and coverage this thing carries could demolish entire teams at the snap of a finger. What could be better?

80.gif

I figured I'd need a good combo that can stand alongside registeel and sponge the physical hits he can't take. I remembered slowbro from OU, looked him up, saw he was UU, and added him to my team before you could say "Add slowbro to your team." This one was a very easy choice. It beats nearly everything registeel can't, and regenerator is icing on the cake!

330.gif

At this point, I found that my team was lacking a revenge killer. I remembered a brief escapade with flygon in UU from a few months before, and after a bit of testing, flygon was added to the team for revenge killing purposes. When I looked at it, the fact that it was immune to slowbro's only weakness not resisted by registeel as well as regi's only weakness not resisted by slowbro was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

145.gif

Zapdos is kind of a weird one, but I have no grass type and I needed something to go toe to toe with the bulky waters. A grass type was out of the option because of registeel's and durant's weakness to fire. Thus, zapdos was chosen. I chose a bulkier set in order to take next to nothing from those bulky waters.

And that's how the team was built. Here's a cool motivational poster to cheer you up because you chose to suffer through eating all this fried okra before getting to the steak.

And without further adieu, the lineup for Dragon Dancing in the Wind!

Scrafty @Lum Berry
Adamant | 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 252 HP | Moxie
~Dragon Dance
~Hi Jump Kick
~Ice Punch
~Crunch

Ah, Scrafty, how I love you so... As soon as I saw Scrafty drop to UU, I thought he'd be BL for sure. Turns out, he fits quite snugly in UU. After finally getting around to making a UU team, I decided Scrafty would be on it. Most of you probably recognize it as the standard dragon dance set from OU that has now become standard in UU. Hi Jump Kick gives a crapton of power, especially when backed up by a DD or moxie boost. I find it 2hkoing a lot of stuff even before any boosts, which is pretty cool. Ice Punch achieves coverage on gligar, nidoking, Zapdos and nidoqueen. Crunch gives him a more reliable STAB and ensures he is not walled by psychic types. There really isn't much to say about Scrafty except that he slaughters everything except maybe Zapdos and Crobat after a boost or two.

Type Synergy

Flying: Zapdos, Registeel
SE moves: Zapdos, Scrafty, Durant

Fighting: Zapdos, Slowbro
SE moves: Slowbro

Registeel @Leftovers
Careful | 252 HP, 252 Sp. Def, 4 Atk | Clear Body
~Iron Head
~Seismic Toss
~Thunder Wave
~Stealth Rock

Registeel is one of the defensive glues and walls for my team. I always wondered why no one ever used him, considering how good he has been for my team. The lack of recovery is troublesome, and is probably what discourages his use so much. The good thing is, he does his job, and he does it well. The particular set I use is a throwback specially defensive set that hearkens back to the days of gen IV. Iron Head and Seismic toss ensure he will always have a move to deal a decent amount of damage with. Iron Head hits a key weakness to my team, and is good for paraflinch. Seismic toss is good for hitting for a set amount of damage and making sure the opposing team gets weakened directly. Thunder Wave paralyzes key sweepers such as sceptile and heracross either on the switch or in revenge. stealth Rock needs no explanation, as it murders everything and wears down other key sweepers such as tornadus. All in all, registeel still annoys the enemy team and sponges special hits without needing recovery to succeed. He is a pivotal part of my defense and is something my team could not do without.

Type Synergy

Fire: Slowbro, Flygon

Durant @Choice Band
Jolly | 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP | Hustle
~X-Scissor
~Iron Head
~Superpower
~Rock Slide

Oh wow, I cannot begin to describe the sheer power and scariness this thing packs. Durant fills the gap of an attacker who is very powerful and poses a threat right when he enters the battlefield without needing setup. This particular set is the basic choice band set. X-Scissor is my preferred STAB, and it hits everything hard. It provides amazing coverage against psychic types, demolishing even the mighty cresselia in two hits. Iron Head destroys stuff that resists X-Scissor and gets coverage on ice types, the aforementioned key weakness that my other glue pokemon have. It's also good for flinch lulz, especially with TW support from Slowbro and Registeel. Superpower hits all steels and basically 2hkos every steel type in the tier except maybe steelix. Rock Slide hits Zapdos and other flying types super effectively. Other than zapdos, it has no real point, but it is his best option. Durant strikes terror into the hearts of every team it meets, and is nigh unstoppable after the other team has been sufficiently weakened.

Type Synergy

Fire: Slowbro, Flygon
SE moves: Slowbro, Flygon

Slowbro @Leftovers
Bold | 252 Def, 252 HP, 4 Sp. Atk | Regenerator
~Scald
~Psychic
~Slack Off
~Thunder Wave

If you thought slowbro was evil in OU, he's even more evil in UU. Slowbro serves as the anti-physical glue for my team, taking everything physical like a baws. He absolutely destroys gligar that don't run toxic, a real threat to my sweepers. He just sits there and sponges physical hits all day while healing and burning with scald. Scald gives him STAB and a chance to burn key physical sweepers. Psychic gets super effectiveness on fighting types, one problem for my team. Slack Off allows him to heal and keep tanking. Thunder Wave slows down people so they become slow bros too and then they all get swept by Scrafty because he doesn't even need the speed boost after all that paralysis. Slowbro is just one big ball of cuddly sponging goodness, and he acts as a reliable wall to many physical threats to my team.

Flygon @Choice Scarf
Adamant | 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP | Levitate
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Fire Punch
~U-Turn

Flygon is a wonderful pokemon that fills a hole in my defensive part as the electric resist. His main role is to serve as a revenge killer to dangerous sweepers such as choice scarf heracross. Given his dragon + ground STAB and fire coverage, you can't really get much better neutral coverage. U-Turn grabs momentum and gives me an opportunity for a risk-free switch when I predict the opponent's switch. Dragon Claw is basic STAB, and I prefer it over outrage. Earthquake hits electric types super effectively and is his strongest stab. Fire Punch destroys steel types with lower defense and durant. It also gives him a good attack against scarf heracross, a big threat to my team. Without Flygon, most choice scarf pokemon as well as speed boosting set up pokemon would run straight through my team. Flygon plays a dual role, being both glue and revenge sweeper, two important roles on my team that I am glad he's around for.

Type Synergy

Dragon: Registeel (gets owned by other flygon), Durant
SE moves: Scrafty, Flygon

Ice: Registeel, Slowbro, Durant
SE moves: Registeel, Durant, Flygon, Scrafty, Zapdos

Zapdos @Leftovers
Modest | 112HP, 252 Sp. Atk, 144 Speed | Pressure
~Thunderbolt
~Heat Wave
~Roost
~Substitute

This zapdos is designed to sponge attacks and set up substitutes on the enemy, and proceed to fire off powerful moves while healing with roost. Thunderbolt hits like a truck, and can ko many annoying walls and sponges who are unable to harm zapdos through his sub. Heat Wave is used over hidden power ice to get the hit on bug types, specifically Heracross, that threaten slowbro as well as a stronger attack against grass and steel. Substitute renders him nearly untouchable by stall teams, and roost allows him to heal off damage incurred from substitute. Zapdos easily mops up bulky waters such as slowbro and blastoise as well as the flying types that make my sweepers' lives so miserable.

Type Synergy

Ice: Registeel, Durant, Slowbro
SE moves: Registeel, Scrafty, Durant, Zapdos, Flygon

Rock: Registeel, Scrafty, Flygon
SE moves: Registeel, Scrafty, Durant, Flygon

So, that's the team, hope you enjoyed. If you agree with any of the changes I am considering, don't hesitate to say so.

I am also looking into a special sweeper as a suitable replacement for someone on my team, as I am finding dedicated physical walls tough to break. If any of you have any ideas of what attacker to use and what pokemon to replace, that would be helpful.

Here's a threatlist!

UU Offensive Threats

-Aerodactyl: slowbro walls it all day

-Ambipom: scrafty destroys. generally too weak to stand 1 on 1 with any of my pokemon though

-Arcanine: not particularly annoying, wild charge hits on slowbro's strong side. flygon can kill with an earthquake

-Azelf: problematic at worst, threatening at best. it is very frail and doesn't take hits well from any of my pokemon. durant can't be risked, seeing as how most azelf carry fire blast. once it gets nasty plot up, my best hope is flygon's revenge kill

-Azumarill: it gets destroyed by zapdos, but its priority will hurt something before it dies

-Bisharp: absolutely crushed by scrafty

-Chandelure: dies to scrafty after a boost, flygon can revenge kill

-Cobalion: dies to durant and scrafty, flygon can revenge kill

-Crobat: zapdos completely destroys it, flygon can revenge kill

-Darmanitan: all variants are killed by flygon, slowbro can sponge it unless choice band or sun

-Durant: flygon owns it with fire punch, zapdos owns it with heat wave if he doesn't get killed by the choice band variant

-Eelektross: the fact that it has no weaknesses is annoying, but scrafty can take it quite well, and durant can revenge kill with a powerful x-scissor

-Escavalier: roasted by zapdos and flygon

-Flygon: choice scarf variants are problematic, the best answer is to lock it into earthquake and force it out with mine. the end of the game comes down to a speed tie if we are left with both flygon. If he is the last, slowbro can tank an earthquake or two and hope for a burn with scald.

-Froslass: dies to durant and registeel

-Gallade: quite annoying, as stone edge hits zapdos, flygon hits it on its weaker defense though

-Galvantula: very annoying, but scrafty can hit it quite well. zapdos roasts it if he's in good enough condition. flygon can revenge kill easily.

-Golurk: killed by slowbro and scrafty

-Gorebyss: the only set used is smash pass. if it attempts to sweep, it or the switch in can be paralyzed by registeel or slowbro and then killed. if it carries ice beam, slowbro owns, if it carries hp grass, zapdos owns it.

-Heracross: one of the most dangerous. flygon can revenge kill it with fire punch. it can be locked into megahorn and paralyzed by registeel, or locked into CC and paralyzed by slowbro.

-Honchkrow: zapdos destroys it, not much to see here.

-Houndoom: dies to flygon and scrafty

-Kingdra: once weakened, it dies to flygon

-Krookodile: dies to scrafty

-Lilligant: quite annoying. I sacrifice a pokemon to sleep powder, then registeel can paralyze and flygon can revenge kill

-Machamp: slowbro sponges all attacks and kills him with psychic. very annoying once slowbro dies due to dynamicpunch confusion

-Meloetta: This thing can get extremely painful if durant is dead. The good thing is, durant crushes it with x-scissor and flygon can hit it super effectively with u-turn. I can then sponge it with registeel.

-Mew: quite annoying, but it gets weakened over time by flygon and registeel and scrafty can threaten with a crunch before he burns away the lum berry

-Mienshao: It really isn't to much of a problem, especially once it gets paralyzed. If it is choiced, it can easily be forced out by slowbro. If not, it will probably u-turn away. My answer to it varies, depending on whether its third move is stone edge or hidden power ice. If stone edge, flygon handles it nicely. Speaking of flygon, he can easily revenge kill every mienshao that isn't scarfed. If hidden power ice, durant is probably my best hope of beating it. It's only a check at best, but it can survive a hi jump kick from all but the choice band set and proceed to ko with iron head. If it's choice band, it dies to flygon.

-Mismagius: dies to scrafty

-Moltres: dies to zapdos. choice scarf variants can be locked in and killed with flygon

-Nidoking: murdered by flygon. if it gets baton passed a quiver dance, it can be very annoying with nearly perfect coverage and SE coverage on everyone but scrafty

-Ninjask: the stuff it bps is more of a problem than he is

-Omastar: dies to zapdos, can be dangerous after a shell smash. whether zapdos or slowbro is used to wall it depends on its coverage move.

-Poliwrath: dies to zapdos

-Porygon-Z: dies to scrafty

-Raikou: dies to flygon

-Rhyperior: dies to flygon

-Rotom-C: dies to zapdos

-Rotom-H: quite troublesome, as zapdos can't even touch him and flygon can't hit him due to levitate. scrafty is generally the best option.

-Sceptile: dies to zapdos, registeel, and durant

-Scolipede: poor guy dies to zapdos and flygon

-Scrafty: God... this thing is a menace. After two dragon dances, it can outspeed and kill my entire team with moxie boosted attacks. This thing is extremely hard to stop after it gets set up. My best hope is to live an attack with slowbro and proceed to paralyze it and hammer away at it with powerful attacks as well as hi jump kick from my own scrafty. If I can get it paralyzed, it is manageable, but if not, it will wreak havoc on my poor team.

-Sharpedo: dies to zapdos

-Shaymin: durant can destroy it

-Sigilyph: very troublesome once it gets set up, but because most variants don't carry air slash, scrafty is generally a reliable check

-Smeargle: very annoying, particularly the sleep and the smash pass. too bad it dies 1 on 1 to everything.

-Snorlax: very threatening when scrafty goes down, but not troublesome otherwise.

-Stoutland: scrafty

-Suicune: zapdos

-Togekiss: zapdos

-Venomoth: revenge killed by flygon, but sleep is very annoying.

-Victini: flygon

-Weavile: scrafty and durant

-Yanmega: zapdos

-Zoroark: gets killed by scrafty after the illusion is discovered

UU Defensive Threats

-Blastoise: Not really much trouble. It gets destroyed by zapdos.

-Bronzong: Gets roasted by zapdos, takes heavy damage from durant, and takes heavy damage from flygon

-Claydol: Kind of annoying, but slowbro can usually handle it

-Clefable: An annoying little monstrosity, but scrafty handles it quite nicely

-Cresselia: not much problem, durant 2hkos with x-scissor

-Cryogonal: not much of a problem, dies to any physical hit that is neutral or better, flygon outspeeds it with choice scarf

-Drapion: annoying, especially ice fang variants, but not much of a concern, especially because 4 of my pokemon are not adversely affected by toxic spikes under the best circumstances.

-Dusclops: scrafty owns it

-Empoleon: scrafty owns it, so does zapdos

-Ferroseed: roasted by zapdos/flygon, dies to scrafty

-Gligar: very troublesome, best option is slowbro. If scrafty is in good health, he can set up and sweep with ice punch

-Hippopotas: not any trouble at all. the sand he brings is more worrisome than he is

-Hitmontop: destroyed by slowbro, except for rare sucker punch and toxic variants, which can be problematic. Durant can hit hard and is immune to toxic, so he usually the best for the more bulky versions.

-Milotic: destroyed by zapdos.

-Nidoqueen: flygon is the best answer, but I need some previous damage before bringing in flygon for the kill

-Porygon2: not particularly annoying unless it statuses the scrafty

-Quagsire: very annoying, but durant can take advantage of its low BST and murder it with x-scissor

-Qwilfish: zapdos

-Registeel: flygon, scrafty

-Roserade: zapdos

-Rotom: scrafty

-Sableye: scrafty

-Slowbro: zapdos

-Spiritomb: very annoying, but it can be stopped once I figure out what set it's running

-Swampert: quite annoying, but durant wounds it with x-scissor

-Tangrowth: zapdos uses heat wave. gg

-Umbreon: scrafty

-Uxie: scrafty

-Whimsicott: zapdos. if it sets up, it is quite annoying, but the sub can be used to prevent further damage through toxic. it's not preventing the leech seed though.

-Xatu: dies to scrafty

-Zapdos: a very threatening pokemon. my best option is to paralyze it with registeel and then use scrafty and flygon to mop it up

This team is pretty original and it looks solid overall, but as you have already noticed, it could definitely use some improvement. After thinking for a while, I think that the best way of solving the weakness to Heracross and to physical walls would be using Cofagrigus instead of Registeel (yes, you're losing Stealth Rock, I will get to that later). Cofagrigus gives you a solid check to Heracross and Fighting types in general, while also being able to act as a dangerous sweeper thanks to Nasty Plot and Trick Room, which means you will have an easier time dealing with the troublesome physical walls that annoy your team.

Cofagrigus@Leftovers | Mummy
Quiet Nature | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Nasty Plot / Shadow Ball / Hidden Power Fighting / Trick Room

Now the problem is the lack of a Stealth Rock settler, and the new weakness to Raikou and other Electric types, which were stopped by Registeel. You could try using Swampert instead of Slowbro, as along Flygon, they check any electric type in UU, while still being a solid check to most Fire type pokemon and Kingdra, as well as being a solid Stealth Rock settler.

Swampert@Leftovers | Torrent
Adamant Nature | 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Def
Waterfall / Earthquake / Ice Punch / Stealth Rock

Hope I helped :)

Hi.

I've tried the pokemon you've listed, and there are some issues.

They handle the threats I want them to, but they're dead weight besides that. They just don't pack a big enough punch for my liking. I also have nothing that can reliably take special attacks to the face like registeel. Cofagrigus makes a great physical wall, but a specially defensive complement in place of swampert would be nice.

Hi, I think you might want to consider changing hi jump kick to drain punch on Scrafty. A recovery is always good. The reason why nobody uses Registeel (I think) is because of it's multiple weaknesses: Zapdos, Swampert, Flygon, Durant, Poliwrath, Quagsire, Nidoqueen, Hitmontop, Hippopatas, Gligar, Drapion, Claydol, Victini, Scrafty, Rotom oven, Raikou, Nidoking, Moltres, Mienshao, Machamp, Houndoom, Heracross, Golurk, Galvantula, Gallade, Eelektross, Darmanitan, Cobalion, Chandelure, Arcanine and Low kick Ambipom. That is a horrific list, and you should definitely get rid of Registeel, for preferably a trapper and spinner, how about Sandslash? It's only weak to Ice and Water, and Zapdos gets rid of water, while Durant ad Flygon get rid of Ice types. I'd go like this:

028.gif
@Leftovers
Stealth rock
Rapid spin
Stone edge
Shadow claw

Shadow claw is there for the spin blockers that come out, they never expect you to have it!
