Team Making Process:
1. Lucario - So I figured I love Lucario and he's an awesome sweeper, his Swords Dance sweeps are deadly.
2. Latias - It just so happens to cover all of Lucario's weaknesses but the even funnier thing about that is that Lucario covers all of Latias's weaknesses too. Talk about a match made in Heaven. ;D
3. Azelf - I wanted a really good Lead, and Azelf is that.
4. Heatran - Needed something to resist Azelf's weaknesses so I can possibly keep it for later and Heatran does that, plus a Scarfed Pokemon never hurt anyone.
5. Scizor - It's good bait for Flash Fire Heatran and it has great synergy with Heatran, with this addition it patches up a lot of the weaknesses this team had. Plus another Physical Sweeper to compliment Lucario is nice.
6. Flygon - Looked at my chart and wanted some more Fire and Ground resist, so I figured Flygon could help with that.
Second Option for Spot 6! - MixMence, since it still covers the Fire and Ground resist, but it hits harder than Flygon and it adds a Mixed Sweeper to the Team, let me know what you think about this!
Movesets:
LEAD
Azelf @ Focus Sash
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
~ Stealth Rock
~ Psychic
~ Explosion
~ Taunt / Fire Blast
I'm using the predictable LeadAzelf. Stealth Rock and then Explode. Psychic is it's wonderful STAB move and I haven't decided between Taunt and Explosion. Fire Blast handles Metagross but Taunt handles other leads that want to set up. Hmm..
Special Sweeper Scarfed
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
~ Fire Blast
~ Earth Power
~ Explosion
~ Hidden Power Ice
This is the common ScarfTran, it's here to resist dragons. So I'm thinking I may use HP Ice on it so I can counter those Dragons that I switch into with this thing. Explosion is for those annoying Special Walls...*cough cough* Blissey and then the Fire Blast and Earth Power are the obvious STAB moves that are very handy typing.
Physical Sweeper
Lucario @ Life Orb
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
~ Swords Dance
~ Close Combat
~ ExtremeSpeed
~ Stone Edge / Crunch
After setting up a Sword Dance, this guy is a beast of a Physical Sweeper. Having the most powerful priority move in the game + amazing attack stats makes this guy happy to finish my opponent's Pokemon off. I can't decide between Stone Edge and Crunch since they both supply me with coverage I could use. Stone Edge for Gyarados and other Flying Types but Crunch hits Ghosts and Psychic Types well like Gengar and Azelf.
Physical Sweeper 2
Scizor @ Choice Band
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD
Careful Nature
~ U-Turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit
Scizor is the OU of the OU, and it's great paired with Heatran. After getting rid of Scizor Counters, Scizor could potentially sweep a team with his Technician, STAB, Choice Banded Bullet Punches. It U-Turns for another STAB plus scouting, Pursuit for Ghosts and Psychics and then the Superpower for Blisseys, Lucarios and such.
Special Sweeper CM
Latias @ Leftovers / Life Orb
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
~ Calm Mind
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Surf
~ Grass Knot
It is the perfect pair with Lucario though and a great Calm Mind sweeper, since it can take special hits pretty well, while it's Calm Minding up against a Special Sweeper, it also acts as a Special Wall. (Making a Special Tank). Dragon Pulse is the obvious STAB move and perfect for Dragon Types and just has great coverage in general. Surf is for Pokemon like Infernape that try to make their late game sweeping rounds. Then the Grass Knot is there for those Swamperts that like switching in.
Physical Sweeper Scarfed
Flygon @ Choice Scarf
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant / Naughty Nature
~ Earthquake
~ Outrage
~ Stone Edge / Draco Meteor / Fire Blast
~ U-turn
Now a Physical Scarfed Sweeper is nice but it's a tough call for the third slot. Stone Edge hits Pokemon such as Gyarados, Draco Meteor for those Dragon Types and Fire Blast for those Steels like Skarmory. Making the Third Slot a Special Attack could make this Pokemon somewhat mixed, something that this team and anytime for that matter could use.
