Arena: Charicific Valley
Deep within the cliffs in southern Johto lies the ancient Charicific Valley. Once just a sanctuary for Charizard this oasis found new life when its inhabitants discovered their Mega Evolutions. The long dormant volcano which engulfs the valley found new life and while eruptions are infrequent the heat is intense. These new conditions allowed the Charizard to reach their full potential as Dragons and this encouraged other Dragon's alike to train themselves in the valley. Now it acts as a haven for all draconic Pokemon, while others find the conditions harsh and near inhospitable.
Throughout the valley one might find rocks, water, grass and anything else that might be useful in a Pokemon battle. However the surrounding volcano produces an Intense Heat which covers the entire region and lasts infinitely. Intense Heat provides almost the same conditions as Sunlight however instead of reducing the power of Water moves it is Ice types which find it hard to prosper here. Their attacks will suffer from a reduction in power while Water attack are unaffected. The constant heat also makes it impossible for Pokemon to be frozen. Other weather conditions such a Sandstorm, Rain and Hail may be called in addition to Intense Heat and will have a four round duration, however Rain and Hail will require the respective weather rock to do so. Any use of the move Sunny Day of the Cloud Nine command will revert the weather back to solely Intense Heat.
Almost as prevalent as the Volcano within the valley is the gigantic Charizard statue underneath which battles are contested. The statue of such an ancient and majestic beast imbues a strong sense of pride in not only Charizard but all Pokemon who stand under it. As a result they will stand staunchly to defend it and cannot be forced to give up their ground. No Pokemon in the arena may be forced out so phazing moves have no effect. Roar and Whirlwind will fail entirely while Dragon Tail and Circle Throw will only deal damage. The item Red Card likewise has no effect. U-Turn, Volt Switch and Parting Shot may still be used as normal.
Finally, given it was Mega Evolution that gave the valley its newfound draconic power it is only natural that Charizard and other Pokemon which gain the Dragon typing through Mega Evolution find it easier to do so here. Any Pokemon with such traits may be brought by the Leader, and the Pokemon will be considered Mega Evolved in their Pokeball prior to send out. Battlers may bring two Mega Evolutions throughout the match and as battles are fought with two abilities trainers must specify which of their Pokemon's active abilities are to be replaced upon Mega Evolution if applicable.

Summary
- The weather is Intense Heat with an infinite duration. Intense Heat acts as Sun but reduces the BAP of Ice typed attacks by 3 and has no effect on the BAP of Water typed attacks. Pokemon may not be frozen while Intense Heat is in effect. Sandstorm, Rain and Hail may be summoned for 4 rounds in addition to Intense Heat, but Rain and Hail need weather rocks to do so. Sunny Day or Cloud Nine command revert the weather to solely Intense Heat. All moves and abilities treat Intense Heat exactly as Sun.
- Pokemon cannot be forced to switch out.
- Pokemon which gain the Dragon typing through Mega Evolution may be brought by the Leader but must equip their Mega Stone, and are considered Mega Evolved in the Pokeball.
- Nature Power calls Lava Plume, Camouflage turns the user Fire typed and Secret Power may burn. The arena is outdoors.
- No other moves are restricted.

"In the left corner we have our leader, with his trusty Dracor the Dragonite who he seems to take everywhere with him, as well as Cleaver the Haxorus, who I'm pretty sure I've seen actually make a solid matchup one time out of a Mega Gardevoir. These guys look rather intimidating. Let's see what his challenger brings to the table."
Challenger Mowtom
Togekiss [Joy] (F)
Mowtom first found Joy as an Egg left in a Pokemon Center by an unknown person. He took the Egg with him at the nurse's insistence. When she hatched, Joy was given that name for two reasons: to honor the nurse who gave Mowtom the Egg, and because she is always overflowing with, well, joy.
Type: Fairy / Flying
Stratagem [Pebbles] (-)
When Mowtom came across Pebbles playing with a young Mollux, he was shocked to discover that neither species was in his Pokedex. The Mollux ran away before Mowtom could observe it, but Pebbles was just as interested in Mowtom as Mowtom was in it. A partnership quickly formed between them.
Type: Rock
Salamence [Gadzooks] (M)
Gadzooks only speaks in hrrrs, making him incredibly difficult to understand. Fortunately, he never goes anywhere without his notepad and pencil. Unfortunately, being made out of hardened clay, neither of them can actually be used for writing.
Type: Dragon / Flying
Mr. Mime [Gamzee] (M)
Don't even ask how Gamzee managed to follow Nepeta into this universe, why he did so, or how he became a Pokemon. Don't try to figure out what it means for clown immortality if he faints over and over again. Most of all, don't point out that he is now a mime, not a clown. He became stoned on Oran Berries when he got here, and I don't want anything changing that. Welp. It happened. God save us all.
Type: Psychic / Fairy

Togekiss [Joy] (F)
Mowtom first found Joy as an Egg left in a Pokemon Center by an unknown person. He took the Egg with him at the nurse's insistence. When she hatched, Joy was given that name for two reasons: to honor the nurse who gave Mowtom the Egg, and because she is always overflowing with, well, joy.
Type: Fairy / Flying
- Fairy STAB; The consecutive move usage penalty for using damaging Fairy-type moves is reduced to two (2) from four (4).
- Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.
Abilities: Hustle / Serene Grace / Super Luck (Unlocked)
- At default this Pokemon puts immense force and speed into its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal. When toggled, no effect.
- This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack's secondary effects. (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt)
- This Pokemon's natural skill increases its critical hit levels one stage above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 50% of the time.

Type: Rock
- Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Abilities: Levitate / Technician / Mold Breaker (Unlocked)
- This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.
- This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two-hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack that has its BAP increased by Technician is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.
- Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action. For a full list of affected abilities, see http://pastebin.com/sMzktgbV

- Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist (e.g. -1 BAP on Aqua Jet against Garchomp.) Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.
Abilities: Intimidate / Moxie (Unlocked)
- When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage and their Natural Attack stage by one (1). If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as a Command, and will affect all opponents.
- Command: Activate Intimidate - 5 En - Lowers all foes' Attack and Natural Attack by one (1) stage. Only usable if a foe entered play this round.
- This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its Attack and its Natural Attack by one (1) stage.

Mowtom was skeptical, but Oracle told him it was a good buy. When Mowtom presented the stone to Gadzooks, the latter transformed and then hrrred in delight.
Type: Dragon / Flying
- Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist (e.g. -1 BAP on Aqua Jet against Garchomp.) Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.
Abilities: Intimidate / Moxie (Unlocked) / Aerilate (Mega)
- By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Flying-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). Only Normal-typed moves changed by Aerilate receive this boost, and not all Flying-type moves. If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Mr. Mime [Gamzee] (M)
Don't even ask how Gamzee managed to follow Nepeta into this universe, why he did so, or how he became a Pokemon. Don't try to figure out what it means for clown immortality if he faints over and over again.
Type: Psychic / Fairy
- Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
- Fairy STAB; The consecutive move usage penalty for using damaging Fairy-type moves is reduced to two (2) from four (4).
Abilities: Soundproof / Filter / Technician (Unlocked)
- Pokemon with this ability emit their own powerful electrostatic or sound-dampening field, making them immune to sound-based moves other than an ally's or their own Heal Bell. (Known sound moves: Boomburst, Bug Buzz, Chatter, Disarming Voice, Echoed Voice, Grass Whistle, Growl, Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Perish Song, Relic Song, Roar, Round, Screech, Sing, Snarl, Snore, Supersonic, Uproar.)
- This Pokemon has a special energy barrier that reduces the Base Attack Power of any opponent's super effective attack by two (2).
