[OVERVIEW]
Dragonite has a colossal attack stat combined with the Dragon/Flying typing allowing it to be immune to Ground attacks, resist rain boosted Water STAB and have STAB for the best offensive typing in the game. However Dragonite mostly finds its place on the popular gamestyle of DragMag revolving around clicking a strong STAB Dragon move and forcing steel types to come in which are trapped by Magnezone. Dragonite has a good ability in Multiscale which makes it so Dragonite takes 50% less if at full health, enabling it so either setup with Dragon Dance or living hits for it to dish off a plethera of damage with Choice Band. Dragonite also gains Extreme Speed which allows for it to kill Mamoswine if it's chipped without taking Ice Shard damage. One drawback that exists with Dragonite is it's mediocre speed tier which is outsped by common scarfers such as Latios or Salamence at +1 which allows for them to revenge kill. One significant drawback is Dragonite's weakness to Stealth Rock which means it would always need Rapid Spin support from something such as Excadrill, Forretress or Starmie in order to maintain its Multiscale.

Moves
========
Outrage punches a large defensive hole in teams. Extreme Speed makes it so it can pick off weakened Mamoswine or Pokemon who may outspeed such as Latios or Thundurus-T who threaten to KO after Multiscale is taken away. Fire Punch is able to hit steel resists hard however in rain Waterfall is the better option because of rain boosted damage. Earthquake allows for Dragonite to hit Heatran and Jirachi in rain which Fire Punch is unable to do while the alternative Superpower is able to hit Ferrothorn, Tyranitar, Chansey and Blissey, however far more niche.
Set Details
========
Maximum attack with Adamant nature allows Dragonite to hit to its fullest breaking potential. The Maximum speed allows Dragonite to outspeed things such as Banded Tyranitar, Modest Heatran and Scizor. Multiscale is by far the superior ability as it's what enables Dragonite to be able to eat hits then fire off a powerful hit. Choice Band makes it so Dragonite can hit at its hardest with its great coverage listed above.
Usage Tips
========
Dragonite is predominantly used as a wallbreaker which leaves holes in the opponent's defensive or offensive structure. It can also be used as a means of opening the opponent's team up for a teammate to come in and win late game. Typically, Dragonite can be brought in after a pivot from something such as common teammates Magnezone, Jirachi or Scizor. You can also bring it in on a Stealth Rock prediction or any other doubles. Typically you click Outrage on anything that is out unless it's a Steel in which you will click Fire Punch (outside of rain) on Jirachi or Ferrothorn or Earthquake inside of rain for Jirachi, Heatran and Ferrothorn. Extreme Speed is clicked when an opponent who outspeeds or threatens to revenge kill it with a priority move and is already chipped.
Team Options
========
Dragonite best fits on DragMag because of it's strong Dragon STABs. Volt Switch from Magnezone or U-Turn from Jirachi or Scizor allow Dragonite to come in safely and fire off a free hit. It can also double on a steel prediction into Magnezone which will trap steels and enable Dragonite and its other dragon behemoth teammates such as Garchomp, Latios and Kyurem-Black. It is often partnered with a Rapid Spinner to remove Stealth Rocks from your side and typically this role belongs to Starmie however can be done by Forretress and occasionally Excadrill. Dragonite is also a viable option on Rain teams where it can fire off rain boosted Waterfalls.
