Hello.

Dragonite
252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Atk
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Rest
Sleep Talk

-This set attempts to remedy the cons of the Dragon Dancer by using Rest and Sleep Talk.
-Dragonite's natural bulk make it a great candidate for a Rest Talk set.
-Sleeping Dragonite's if they have a couple Dragon Dances without Sleep Talk is a huge problem.
-This set make a great Status Absorber.
-Dragon Claw has neutral damage against everything except for Steels.
-Magnezone is a great partner removing pesky steels allowing a sweep with this set.
-There are not much safe counters other than steels and eventually none, after it gets Dragon Dances.
-It's bulkiness is what make it more appealing than a Salamence with the same move-set.
-Outrage doesn't lock you in allowing more damage to be done than Heal Bell - Roost variants.

Wouldn't Heal Bell+Roost be greatly preferable to Rest-Talk? Better team player, you aren't sitting around resting for 2 turns each time.

Roost and Heal Bell is superior to this as you don't get that random Sleep Talk fail when you hit Rest.

Also is there a reason you aren't using Outrage? It doesn't lock you in when Sleep Talk picks it.

You have 252 HP and 4 HP. This is a problem.

Can you generally be more careful when posting sets here, if you've using clearly illegal EVs and a different (nonsensical) attacking move from the one you used in testing, it's not a good sign.

I'm gonna have to give this set a no. It seems nonsensical to to gamble on Sleep Talk and Rest when you've got Roost and Heal Bell available to you. The only benefit that ResTalk gives is the ability to Outrage without being locked in, but that's a small price to pay.

not only that but a +1 dragonite without speed investment only hits 294, which allows it to be outsped by alot of the metagame still. without having defensive boosts unlike other resttalkers like crocune or cursepert, dnite wont always (imo hardly ever) be allowed to settup a big deal so yes outspeeding stuff does matter imo and dnite does a bad job at it

Also, if you're going to use ResTalk DD, you're better off using Kingdra, which doesn't have a ridiculously potent weakness (ice) and less average weaknesses (rock).

I disapprove this set. To be honest, I can pretty much affirm that Kingdra does a much better job at using a RestTalk set -- as stated above, unlike Dragonite, Kingdra doesn't have to worry about that major weakness to Stealth Rock, as well as Ice-, and Rock-type moves. In addition to this, the aforementioned details also emphasize on the fact that Dragonite is not a good Status Absorber; if attempting to be a Status Absorber is something this set could boast of, then I would say that I disagree even more with the overall idea. In short, there is already a Dragon-type Pokemon which does a better job when it comes to RestTalking + set up, and Dragonite has two important problems to deal with which make it kind of impossible to consider for other purposes such as a defensive Status Absorber for some type of teams.

The only two Pokemon that would sleep you are Gengar and Breloom. Gengar's only deals 30% max with Shadow Ball, meaning that it would need to get of 4 hits before you KO it back with Dragon Claw. Additionally, Gengar's relying on a 60% chance to beat you, which is pitiful. Meanwhile, Breloom needs to be at above 75% health in order to beat Dragonite after 1 DD (if Dragonite is using Dragon Claw). If you have something put to sleep already, then there's no point in using this Dragonite.

Also, Heal Bell Dragonite is a lot more team friendly, being able to remove WoW and Twave/Body Slam Paralysis off your Pokemon.
