Its been a very long time since I've had time to post, and since I haven't been playing much ,my advice probably wouldn't be very good. So I'm asking you guys to help me return to semi-almost-greatness with the switch to Platinum.
A quick way to decide if you want to look deeper into the team:
So that's the basic team. It needs help. Badly. I need criticism, and I don't care if it's constructive or destructive. I don't care if you don't like my selection. POST SOMETHING. It helps. Gets the brain flowing, that sort of thing.
The main idea of this point is to get a Draonite sweep going. The other pokes you will notice are quite defensive (except Dugtrio), and that is to open up a hole in their team for Dragonite to rip through. Otherwise my team has no other way to win. (And yes, I do like pictures)
Porygon2
Item: Lum Berry
Trait: Trace
Nature: Modest {-Atk / +SpAtk}
EV Spread: 240 HP / 248 Def / 20 SpAtk
Hidden Power : Fire
Recover
Thunderwave / Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Ah, the lead. The flip of the coin in pokemon. So risky, but so effective. I'm having a hard time with this moveset. While it gains a Flash Fire boost while coming in a Heatran and traps Magnezone (though very risky), it is used almost solely as my Gyarados counter. While Life Orb Gyara is OHKO'd about 50% af the time (while 3HKOing me after a Dragon Dance and Intimidate), Bulky Gyara is easily 2HKO'd while stuggling to 4HKO (though still possible). After this guy goes down, my team is pretty much screwed to Gyara, though it is possible to survive. Magic Coat would be used if it blocked those TrickScarfers showing up all over the place now, but seeing as it doesn't, I have to resort to Thunderwave, a useful move in itself, or Ice Beam for coverage. The 20 SpAtk EVs hit a bonus point with 30 SpAtk IVs.
Dragonite
Item: Yache Berry?
Trait: Inner Focus
Nature: Jolly {+Spe / -SpAtk}
EV Spread: 208 HP / 124 Atk / 176 Spe
Dragon Dance
Fire Punch
Outrage
Roost
As far as the team is concerned, Dragonite is the center. Though generally outclassed by Salamence because of the latter's greater Speed, Attack, and Special Attack, as well as the Intimidate ability, Dragonite is slightly bulkier and gets Fire Punch, a well worthwhile companion to his STAB'd Dragon moves. He also is more loveable than Salamence, as indicated by his "You want a hug?" pose is the picture I chose. That aside, this plays much like Bulky Salamence, but without the incredible bulkiness. 208 HP EVs takes minimum damage from Stealth Rocks while still adding stability to the set. The speed outspeeds Timid Shaymin-s after 1 Dragon Dance and Timid ScarfGar after 2 DD's. The other EVs I stuck in Atk, which just happen to guarantee a 2HKO on Swampert after a DD. I could easily put in more Spe EVs to outspeed Adament Heracross.
But Dragonite is not invincible, even with the Fire/Dragon attack combo. Heatran, bulky waters, Deoxys-e, Heatran, Ice Sharders, and massive physical walls prevent Draogonite from sweeping. The rest of the pokemon on this team are meant to rid the opponent of these pests.
Jirachi
Item: Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
Nature: Bold {-Atk / +Def}
EV Spread: 240 HP / 136 Def / 36 Spe / 56 SpDef
Stealth Rock
Thunder
U-Turn
Wish
The pokemon I'm most unsure about. So far it has been very hard to kill and is working wonder when Thunder decides to hit, but I can't help but feel like it's taking up space that could be better used. She is the essential Wisher and Stealth Rocker, and does her job well. If enough people tell me to let her go, I will do so without question. Her secondary job is to handle Deoxys-e and bulky waters with Bronzong, which she does not do quite so well as i would like.
Milotic
Item: Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
Nature: Bold {-Atk / +Def}
EV Spread: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpAtk
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk
Surf
I like Milotic a lot. She handles most MixApe (Grass Knot is falling out of favor) and can dish out a large chunk of damage with that 100 base Special Attack stat. Heatran doesn't like her, as well as most Ice Sharders and physical walls, so she helps Dragonite a lot. Also Salamence doesn't like her Ice Beams.
Dugtrio
Item: Choice Scarf
Trait: Arena Trap
Nature: Adamant {+Atk / -SpAtk}
Aerial Ace
Earthquake
Night Slash / Sucker Punch
Stone Edge / Sucker Punch
The revenger. Takes out Heatran, non Magnet Risen Magnezones, and all weakened pokes. Great help to Dragonite. Stone Edge's accuracy is ticking me off, and I can't do much to priority sweepers without Sucker Punch. On the other hand, I have massive speed and therefore don't need Sucker Punch. Both arguments have their merit. Help please!
Bronzong
Item: Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
Nature: Sassy {-Spe / +SpDef}
EV Spread: 252 HP / 20 Atk / 68 Def / 168 SpDef
Earthquake
Grass Knot
Gyro Ball
Trick
CBTrickZong! This guy is on every team I make nowadays. I hate to post it because it's such a surprise to most people, but now they will know. Earthquake and Gyro Ball put a hurt on common switch-ins Magnezone and Heatran. Tricking Choice Band onto one of these two severely hurts them, while getting Life Orbs and Leftovers, or even Choice Scarf, isn't too bad for me, though a Scarf certainly riuns Gyro Ball's power. I usually let Zong take any status I don't want on another team member. Grass Knot was chosen because of my inability to take down Swampert without a fight. The Atk EVs allow for an OHKO on 252 HP Heatrans and Magnezones with Choice Band.
So that's the team. I have problems with stall teams, Deoxys-e, Zapdos, Shaymin-s, and Scizor. If Zoom Lens was on Shoddy I could use my ultimate physical counter Weezing set, but it's not, so I usually make do with Milotic for Scizors.
