Dragons, Fairies and Steels, Oh My!

After a long semester thats almost concluded, its good to get back into the meta. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. My newest team is a balanced team featuring Dragonite as a Sweeper, Charizard Y as a Wallbreaker, Excadrill as a Hazard setter/ remover, a Defog offensive Latios, Bulky Pivot Rotom-W and Wish Clefable. Dragonite/ Latios - Excadrill - Clefable form a mice Dragon/Fairy/Steel core. Excadrill and Latios do an excellent job of clearing the field of hazards for Dragonite and Charizard. Rotom-W takes the special attacks while Clefable takes the physical hits while also supplying the whole time with much needed wish support. The team has been doing very well on PS and PO (playing under PsuedoDio if u wanna match). Suggestions are welcome and appreciated :)

Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 6 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Extremespeed

My favorite pokemon returns with the his WP set. Dragonite can almost always get at least one DD up and usually two. Dragon Claw is used over Outrage bc I like the combo that DC and ES form. ES is extra important this gen due to Talonflame's priority, among the many other users of +1 priority in this current meta. Earthquake for Heatran, as well as being the superior option to hit Aegislash over Fire Punch. Weakness Policy has been awesome so far, seeing as Im use to having Lum on the DD set. Dragonite usually comes in late game after his checks have been cleared and the only things that can touch him have to use a SE move to activate WP. Dragonite and Clefable is just such an excellent combo, with Clefable being able to take on any Fairy and Dragon moves aimed at Dragonite. Clefable also is useful for being able to pass wishes on to a weakened Dragonite or one switching in with stealth rocks up, restoring Multiscale.

Charizard-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze (Drought)
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost

One of my favorite Megas right here and an excellent Wallbreaker. Charizard-Y is excellent at breaking down physical walls for Dragonite. Having a fire type that scares away water types with one turn solar beams is awesome. Rotom-W, Gastrodon, Keldeo, Starmie are all afraid to switch in. Drought is also of course great for boosting flamethrower, which is chosen for its superior accuracy over Fire Blast. Focus Blast is for Heatran, and for running Timid over Hasty with EQ and lowering his defense. Roost is so nice to keep your only mega alive, especially one who is x4 weak to rocks.

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold breaker
EVs: 6 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Iron Head

Because the two big power hitters above are both weak to rocks, a rapid spinner was a must. Excadrill is perfect for the job, pairing well with just about everyone on this team. SR just support puts the mole over the top. Mold breaker is to hit levitators, as well as opposing Dragonite's with Multiscale. Iron Head is chosen over Rock Slide to hit fairies, such as Sylvion and Togekiss. Excadrill is especially nice to switch into Togekiss trying to spread paralysis.

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 Hp / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Defog

Choice Scarf Latios is an excellent revenge killer and late game cleaner. I originally had a Life Orb which seemed like the obvious item to use with Defog. However, my team struggled with DD MCharizard-X, DD Dragonite and other Scarf pokemon. Defog remains on the set just in case I need it. Thunderbolt to hit Togekiss, Skarmory, Milotic, Azumarill, Talonflame, Gyarados and Blastoise. Psyshock for hitting Venusaur, Blissey/Chansey and fighting types harder.

Rotom-W @ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 SpAtk / 6 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power Ice

Rotom-W acts as a bulky pivot that can take a hit and hit hard back. Assault vest allows Rotom-W to switch into Greninja, Alakazam, Togekiss, MBlastoise, Starmie, Keldeo, the Lati twins and Volcarona lacking Giga Drain. Thunderbolt and Hydro Pump and very powerful stabs combined with a Modest nature. Volt Switch proves momentum, while HP Ice hits Dragons, Thundurus, Gliscor/Landorus (both more reliably than Hydro Pump). Rotom-W is just so excellent this gen and was an easy choice when making this team. Lack of pain split/ Leftovers is helped with Wish support.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 6 SpDef
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Moon Blast
- Toxic

Clefable rounds out the team and is a real gem with the Fairy typing. Clefable brings Wish support to the team, and is a strong Physical Wall when played smartly using his immunities/resistances. Clefable is great at checking M-Mawile, M-Absol, Azumarill, Mienshao, Conkeldurr, Dragonite, Salamence, Haxorus, and M-Heracross. Toxic is used to wear down opponents like Lati@s, Rotom, Blissey/Chansey, Sableye, Cresselia, Sylvion, Umbreon, Milotic, Togekiss, Suicune, Zapdos, Tyranitar and every other poke that doesn't like being poisoned. Moonblast is used for a means of steady damage to the opponent alongside Toxic to force out many poke and just do general damage.
