Thanks to its part-Poison typing and access to Toxic Spikes, Drapion serves as a Choice Scarf user for Dark-type teams with the capability of handling Fairy-types. With the Speed boost, Drapion can remove Choice Scarf from Dracovish and Dracozolt with Knock Off, thus granting Dark-type teams a sufficient counterplay, and can safely break the Disguise of Mimikyu. Poison Jab is used to handle Fairy-types such as Hatterene and Gardevoir. Toxic can be used to cripple bulky Pokemon on the switch, such as Hippowdon, and Toxic Spikes helps Dark against some types, such as Fairy and Dragon. Toxic Spikes also allows offensive teammates such as Hydreigon and Grimmsnarl to break opposing teams more consistently. Furthermore, Drapion's part-Poison typing absorbs the opposing Toxic Spikes. Toxic should be used in cases where the opposing team has no Pokemon immune to it, such as Fairy-types, and against fast threats and setup sweepers to limit their effectiveness, and Toxic Spikes should be used against types that lack proper entry hazard removal such as Grass.

With its part-Poison typing and acceptable offensive stats, Drapion can handle most Fairy-type Pokemon, thus making it a good teammate to most Dark-type Pokemon. Offensive Pokemon such as Bisharp and Hydreigon make good teammates to Drapion, as they benefit well from Toxic Spikes, which allows the aforementioned Pokemon to break opposing teams more consistently. Furthermore, Hydreigon can switch into Ground-type attacks thanks to its Levitate, and Bisharp's part-Steel typing gives Drapion a bit of freedom with checking Fairy-types. With its access to Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave, Tyranitar performs a good hazard-stacking and status-spreading core with Drapion. Mandibuzz is another decent teammate with its capability of switching into Ground-type attacks for Drapion and forms a good core with it thanks to their neutrality to Fighting-type attacks. Having Drapion also frees Mandibuzz from having to run Toxic.

- You need to mention something about it’s usefulness against Fairy-type Pokemon and Toxic Spikes in the first line because that’s the main reason you’re choosing Drapion over other Choice Scarf users. PM me on discord if you have trouble phrasing it.
- Mention some types that Toxic Spikes are really good against.
- Let’s see a usage tip about using Toxic and Toxic Spikes especially when you’re Choice locked.

With its part-Poison typing and acceptable bulk, it can switch into most Fairy-type attacks, thus making a good teammate to most Dark-type Pokemon.
- Drapion actually dislikes switching in on Fairy-type attacks. A majority of them 2HKO it so you generally don’t want to throw it in against them. You can just talk about how all of Drapion’s teammates enjoy its ability to take on Fairy-type Pokemon.

Mandibuzz is another decent teammate with its capability of switching into Ground-type attacks for Drapion and performs a good defensive core with their neutrality to Fighting-type neutrality.
- I wouldn’t say they’re a defensive core. Drapion doesn’t really count as a Fighting neutrality because it’s not bulky.
