[SET COMMENTS]

While physical sets aren't usually Drifloon's cup of tea, this is probably one of the most effective sets that it can run. Acrobatics hits quite hard with STAB and Flying Gem, especially since only Steel-, Electric- and Rock-types resist it. After Drifloon's Flying Gem is used, the fun begins! The Gem boost doubles not only Acrobatics's power, but also Drifloon's Speed thanks to Unburden, making this little balloon a force to be reckoned with. Shadow Ball and Hidden Power Fire serve as Drifloon's secondary attacks—the moves Drifloon would be using when not spamming Acrobatics. Shadow Ball is reliable secondary STAB, hitting physical walls and Rock-types harder than Acrobatics. Slowpoke is a perfect example, because it has low Special Defense and takes super effective damage from Shadow Ball. Hidden Power Fire hits Steel-types hard, which otherwise resist its entire moveset. Ferroseed is a good example, although it is neutral to Acrobatics. Some Steel-type Pokemon won't take too much damage from Hidden Power Fire though, especially those such as Aron that gain a Special Defense boost in the sand. Explosion lets Drifloon go out with a bang, and can still be useful even though its power has been cut this generation.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Max Attack is needed so that Drifloon can hit as powerful as possible. 196 EVs in Speed gives it a stat of 16, and thus 32 after the Unburden boost, which basically outspeeds everything. The remaining EVs go into Special Attack to power up Shadow Ball and Hidden Power Fire, and HP and Defense to increase Drifloon's bulk slightly. A Naughty nature is used to maximize Drifloon's Attack without lowering its Special Attack. The reason its Special Defense is lowered is that most priority attacks Drifloon is weak to are physical. Moves such as Hypnosis, Will-O-Wisp, and pretty much any other attacks that Drifloon uses are viable as alternatives. Taunt can be useful to stop Pokemon such as Ferroseed and Dwebble from setting up, or using status moves as in the former's case. Sucker Punch is also an option to hit Pokemon with priority attacks before they can attack, although most Pokemon that use priority against Drifloon resist Dark-type moves, such as Houndour and Croagunk. Because of Drifloon's great Speed and coverage, this set is very difficult to revenge, but make sure you get rid of priority users before you sweep. Houndour and Croagunk are notable examples, and a Colbur Berry can be used to live a Sucker Punch and OHKO them, also activating Unburden. Bulky Steel-types do a good job of countering this set, and Magnemite is a notable example since it 4x resists Acrobatics. Aron is probably the best counter, because it is neutral to Hidden Power Fire and gets a Special Defense boost in the sand.

I heart this set. I use Sucker Punch over Shadow Ball for out-prioritying stuff and sometimes Taunt over HP Fire since I lead with it, but that falls under the "everything else" category, so.

[QC 1/2]

Would be cool to say some cool stuff Flight Gem Acrobatics can kill. Which is a lot.

Sucker Punch should definitely get an AC mention if not a slash. Same goes for Colbur Berry. Charmander and I tested it way back when and it actually fared pretty damn well (+1 Scraggy fails to OHKO iirc and then Acrobatics should then 2HKO. Also helps vs. Sucker Punch).

After that,

wait

if you're running hp fire

you need 200 evs in speed and attack to max, and 40 in spa to max, right

so...

36 hp / 200 atk / 4 def / 40 spa / 200 spe

While physical sets aren't usually Drifloon's cup of tea, this is probably one of the most effective sets that it can run. Acrobatics hits quite hard with STAB and Flight Gem, aided by the fact that only Steel- and Rock-types Electric??? resist it. After Drifloon's Flight Gem is used, the fun begins! Slowpoke is a perfect example, because it is weaker on the special side and takes super effective damage from Shadow Ball. Hidden Power Fire hits Steel-types hard, which otherwise resist its entire moveset. Ferroseed is a perfect example you use the exact same phrase twice..., although it is neutral to Acrobatics . Some Steel-type Pokemon won't take too much damage from it, such as Aron, which also gains a Special Defense boost in the sand. Explosion lets Drifloon go out with a bang, and can still be useful even though its power has been cut this generation.

Besides, Ferroseed isn't a perfect example, because it doesn't resist Acrobatics.
