Hello. This is my first attempt at a rate my team and was hoping I could get some help out on this nice little gimmick team I have been running in UU for the past few days. Overall the team is solid and has a winning record but I think it could be better.
Hippopotas (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Roar
Hippopotas is here to to start the sand stream which my team benefits and also servers as my Stealth Rock user. Slack Off is important due to the ability to prolong stalls or to wall opponents. Roar is in for phazing and to help break possible Sash users.
Gligar (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Roost
Sand Veil is what makes this poke what it is. With the ability to switch in on a ground user and set up subs, Gligar serves as a great wall for this team. Toxic is on the set due to the fact I usually run into many flying or levitating enemies that ignore the majority of my entry hazards. Roost allows for nice recovery while behind subs allowing me to slowly chip at opponents, especially late game. Earthquake is in the set so I have a STAB move that works effective in the UU metagame.
Drilbur (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 236 Atk / 116 Def / 76 SDef / 52 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Shadow Claw
- Swords Dance
With Drilbur's evolution banished off to Ubers, I was wondering what Drilbur was capable of. I quickly found out that after a Sword Dance, Drilbur can take most the tier out in one shot. If the opponent allows two sword dances, Drilbur can effectively sweep entire teams with easy. Earthquake allows Drilbur to hit fire and steel pokemon like a truck. Rock Slide allows handling Flying pokemon possible with the team while Shadow Claw allows me to take Ghost and Psychics with easy.
Roselia (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Leaf Storm
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic Spikes
At first I questioned Roselia on the team and debated between him and Wynaut. After tests showing that Wynaut was not stout enough to cause as much damage as his evolution, I chose Roselia due to a lack of ability to deal with waters types. Sleep Powder allows me to set up with Toxic Spikes for the residual damage that my team thrives on. Leaf Storm is my answer to most water pokemon in this tier, while Sludge Bomb is a nice STAB which can be used from time to time.
Ferroseed (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Gyro Ball
Possibly the most annoying member of UU. With the ability to take nearly any attack that is neutral or resists easily, switching in is a breeze. Spikes allow for more damage that Hippopotas can cause through Roar as well as threatening opponents from switching as often. Leech Seed allows a constant regain for Ferro which is necessary due to the lack of Leftovers. Thunder Wave works well on the team due to some sweepers being able to be stopped, especially those who ignore my Toxic Spikes. Gyro Ball is a nice move for Ferro allowing him to break many subs as well as tack on damage to switches.
Monferno (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 216 Atk / 40 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Taunt
- Overheat
- Mach Punch
- Close Combat
Monferno is the newest edition to this team. His ability to deal with many grass pokemon that this team has encountered trouble against as well as stopping setups through Taunt has earned him his spot. Overheat is able to OHKO many grass types while Close Combat can deal with many switched that believe it is a save switch in possibly expecting a special set. Mach Punch has proven invaluable to this team due to the lack of priority on the team. I'm pretty sure the EVs on this pokemon need to be fixed asap.
Notes:
Sadly no Roserade, as on the server I play, she is BL and not usable in UU
