WARNING: THIS TEAM IS OUTDATED TO THE CURRENT METAGAME

Well, once again I find myself here, yapping about a team that will probably garner some likes but will not get used, I made a lot of teams during wcop, most of them complete utter dogshit but still gonna save them for other tours. But this one is the oldest and the one I have most love for. For reference this was on the end of Roaring Moon meta / Beginning of Stours where Dragonite / Ting Lu / Gholdengo cores where being spammed, and I wanted to eat them for free, so I made this team. Not going to lie, I would've love to put a more PG +18 love song like Sweet Devil or Isshinfuran (content warning for NSFW, you have been warned), but I know for a fact that the second I do that Ill have the whole senior staff team outside my house looking to have me drawn and quartered and sadly for my opps I still have things to do on this site, so I have to keep myself composed. drop pop candy fills the pink girly aesthetic tho, it's fairy spam

:booster energy::sv/iron valiant::booster energy:
Iron Valiant @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Spirit Break

Iron Valiant, is fraudulent, to be more precise, the mixed set is fraudulent. There's more damage in a hit from a newborn infant than a Knock Off from this thing, Swords Dance is where I think the best set stands, you just need to drop Encore and get funky with it. Spirit Break being the occasion, a fairy move that can just hit stuff without dropping defense or special defense is amazing, also being able to drop-kick Zamazenta, Raging Bolt, Clefable, Hatterene and Dragonite is cool. As always, tera dark in case I do need a stronger Knock Off

Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Tera Blast

Sylveon may look like a shitmon and while it may be true or not, it solved one important hole on the team I couldn't find a way to ignore, this is my only way out of SubTech Kyurem because I chose to commit the unforgivable sin of taking of Encore out of Iron Valiant, so this essentially stunt locks the team for free. This is where Sylveon comes in, with a max special attack and max speed spread, designed about jumpscaring Kingambit, quick smack to Ting Lu, checking all special kyurems, luring glowking and being basically a makeshift 2x4 stallbreaker, Ima be real, I have never tested the stall matchup vs this thing but Psyshock forces tera dark blissey or tera steel gliscor / clodsire, and then you pretty much spam tera ground tera blast. Does this work in practice? Who knows, not my problem anymore. Also, if I had a nickel for every cocky moth ive caught lacking trying to sub up with Psyshock

The third fairy, Primarina, is another strong fairy to content the group of Sylveon + Iron Valiant, went with standard set, nothing to write home about. Primarina is mad good in this meta, and even unboosted Surf has to be treated with care, I went with tera poison because I think poison is better than steel on most occasions

Iron Moth @ Booster Energy

Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 124 Def / 132 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Fiery Dance
- Sludge Wave
- Dazzling Gleam
- Psychic

With the 3 fairies covered, this is now true fairy spam or fairy overload, whoever you wanna call it. This now means that my 3 remaining pieces have to deal with the fairy checks a team might have. Iron Moth being my anti poisons, as well as a quick check to opposing fairies. With tera blast on Sylveon I decided for moth to be 4 attacks with Psychic to handle opposing Moth too, not to mention pesky toxic spikes. It has never occurred to me that, if you count tera fairy + dazzling gleam this can be a 4 fairy, but meh, Iron Mid really needs support from Sylveon and Primarina against Ting Lu and Glowking, with those out, it can do work

:leftovers::sv/zamazenta::leftovers:
Zamazenta @ Leftovers
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Crunch
- Roar

Zamazenta is the new moth, either you get a crit + 5 defense drops against pecharunt, or you don't, but unlike Moth, this mon can still be disruptive thanks to roar, just to fuck around with people. Zamazenta is my second steel check and my only line of defense against Ogerpon-Wellspring, Ill talk more about her later. He also helps vs Kingambit when Iron Valiant is dead, or it's not the time to deploy it into the field. Tera Fire + Roar to fuck with both wisp pult + booster valiant. The very nature of the idbp + roar set makes it the most valuable member of the team, and I hope the replays show it.

:booster energy::sv/iron treads::booster energy:
Iron Treads @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

Finally, the most boring mon on the team, but a check to pecharunt is a check to pecharunt. Iron treads serves as my stealth rocker as well as an offensive chip dealer, hazard remover and decent speed check thanks to booster. I went with tera type water for fire types. I don't think I've clicked this once in my miserable life. On practice, it gets rocks, maybe an Earthquake off, and then it dies, and sometimes that's okay.

Checks and Counters:

:ogerpon-wellspring: the elephant in the room, there's no way around it, you WILL lose 2 mons to this thing, people tend to be stupid with it tho, so you can easily make the enemy go full cavemen for tera. Iron Treads and Iron Valiant out speed it, and Earthquake → Close Combat is a high roll of killing. If your opponent is smart with it, it's an insta loss

:zamazenta: particularly Tera Steel + Heavy Slam, if it is 4 attacks variant, just forfeit. I mean, technically you can tera ground tera blast Sylveon → Close Combat from Iron Valiant, but he can switch out, you can't

:araquanid: / :ribombee: Just forfeit

NEW: How to update the team

While I called this team old, It's still heavily salvageable, but how? I asked around and given a few ideas

Shoutouts to Hellom specifically for suggesting making Primarina AV, for tanking hits better and having both momentum to troll glowking and Psychic Noise to troll healers, putting them in Iron Valiant range
:sv/sylveon: -> ???

Many Chilean compatriots have suggested getting rid of Sylveon altogether, 2 options that have come up are the following:

:enamorus: is another fairy type with natural access to Earth Power, with extra utility to boot in Healing Wish, this lets it check most of the things Sylveon should check in paper

:dragonite: while reduces the number of fairies from 3 to 2, it adds a bulky yet offensively capable check to Ogerpon-Wellspring, with the added bonus of priority, the ability to either have Encore or bluff it, and a ground immune which I do lack, but we don't talk about that, mainly because it hasn't really given trouble

Whether the answer is between this 2 or an unconsidered pick, feel free to test it out and have fun with it

Conclusion, Pokepaste, Replays, and Shoutouts

I already did personal shoutouts to the Chile team, I wanna personally shoutout the people who believe in me and have liked my presence, I wanna think that after a long time, I have too many to count, thanks for all who have been there for me, you guys know who you are. As far I go, I will take a break from Pokémon, I'm not gonna comment fully on it, but I could really use a mental break. I still have a tour I have to attend, but other than that, I'm pretty much dead for the moment. With that, I take my leave, good night people

thank you for punishing the egregious greed of people running zero fairy resists

This team has a solid foundation, but the replays surfaced some major issues. The current build plays like a YOLO Zamazenta team with a solid "Plan A" win condition. When it doesn't work, the team simply collapses and it gets to GG pretty quickly. Normally, I don't go into this deep of a tear down and just move on to the next team to rate. This team was an exception because there was evidence of the team working, but what worked now won't get to where this team needs to go. I watched every single one of the replays in your post. Some clear trends emerged:

1.) Zamazenta pulls more than its fair share of weight and needs to be the focal point.
2.) Iron Moth does a good job of paving the way for it by absorbing Toxic Spikes and bopping threats along the way.
3.) Fairy support helps clear the way for Zamazenta to sweep, but the Fairy threats as is don't pull the weight they need to.
4.) Iron Treads was incredibly underwhelming to the point where it might have cleared hazards once in those 10 matchups. It works on paper, but it needs a better solution.
5.) Sylveon is a nice idea, but was even more underwhelming than Iron Treads in 90% of those replays.
6.) There is no current switch in to Wellspring and that limits this team's upside potential.

I will keep Zamazenta and Iron Moth with "optimized" spreads in the paste. The rest of the team will be adapted as follows:

1.) :leftovers: -> :assault vest: on :primarina:

I agree with the AV Primarina suggestion your Chilean teammates suggested and would even take it a step further to go bulkier to switch in to more Kyurem attacks consistently. The set I would use is Moonblast / Psychic Noise / Psychic / Flip Turn with enough EVs to take 2 attacks from basically anything Kyurem wants to throw at it. I would start with Tera Poison, but Tera Steel is an option to pick up key resistances. The pivot set helps preserve Zamazenta and Iron Moth's one time boosts. Both are too valuable to waste switching into attacks that Primarina could take just as easily.

2.) :sylveon: -> :hatterene:

Sylveon was a good idea, but Hatterene does what Sylveon did only better. Hatterene solves a few key issues for this build. The biggest is it gives an answer to Sticky Webs which your team is deathly allergic to. The second is it gives a backup win condition that helps break things Zamazenta cannot. For this team, I would propose a set of Calm Mind / Draining Kiss / Mystical Fire / Psyshock with Covert Cloak to provide a clean switch into Garganacl. This provides the similar coverage to Sylveon at the expense of Speed, but that's the only upside Sylveon provided. Psychic Noise is an option over Psyshock, but since Primarina already runs Psychic Noise, we can go Psyshock here for the coverage.

- Poltergeist
- Rapid Spin
- Strength Sap

After these two swaps, the team could go in a couple of different directions. The biggest issues left to plug are Wellspring, hazard setup, and primary hazard removal. One niche idea that might work here is Colbur Berry Brambleghast. It has its roots as a meme set, but it actually patches the Wellspring + hazard removal issue better than anything else I could find. With this EV spread + a Colbur Berry, you live any attack Ogerpon-W can throw at you assuming Ivy Cudgel isn't evil and crits at +2. The Speed EVs are there to outspeed Ogerpon-W after a Rapid Spin. A nice side effect is it can handle anything Ting-Lu tries to throw at it, as well. Whirlwind gets negated by Wind Rider and Rapid Spin clears any hazards away while Strength Sap heals it to untouchable levels over time.

- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Power Gem / Spikes / Thunderbolt / Tera Blast

The last "hole" to plug is something to set up hazards. Iron Valiant provided some support to break for Zamazenta, but there is no more room for it in this new version. I looked through my builder and realized Sandy Shocks could actually patch some remaining holes quite nicely. Its unique coverage in Volt Switch and Earth Power can slice through Unaware walls that Zamazenta struggled to break. The Speed tier also provides some support to outspeed Kyurem and Raging Bolt that would otherwise provide the team some issues. Volt Switch is there for pivoting primarily against Corviknight and Gholdengo. The last set is to taste. Normally, I run Power Gem to chip Kyurem and the Kanto birds without having to battle with Roost stalling, but reasonable minds could also run Spikes or Thunderbolt. Tera Blast Fairy also could work, but the options I have listed are probably better. I debated between Boots and Sash and both work, but Boots is probably primary given Kyurem's penchant to run Icicle Spear and negate Sash's usefulness. Power Gem is also nice for the Tera Bug Covert Clerk Ceruledge set that made waves during WCoP and I presume will be the new "it" set for OLT.

With these suggestions, this team went through an extreme makeover. I'll post the importable below along with a Pokepaste for the new version so people can try it out on the ladder.

Enjoy your well-earned break! For the importable set, I included my version of Zamazenta's and Iron Moth's EV spreads -- Zamazenta's are for boosting Body Press and OHKOing Iron Valiant with Heavy Slam after hazards, while Iron Moth's add HP to maintain slightly more bulk. Crunch is certainly worth keeping over Heavy Slam or Roar if you want to go that route. These are to taste. Feel free to use your originals if you don't like them. :)
