Hello and welcome to my first RMT. I was doing a road to top ten and for the final episode I decided to rebuild a stall team I used before the tier changes, when Clefable was still in the tier. I ended up reaching the top 10 with this team, and even reaching the top 2, and since my team is pretty easy to use, I decided to share it.
The team :
Building process :
I first started the team with the Alomomola/Blissey core because it can wall most of the metagame just by itself, since Blissey eats almost every special threat while Alomomola can switch onto the physical threats. Furthermore, Blissey offers Heal Bell support and Alomomola can pass very fat wishes. Finally, Alomomola's ability regenerator gives the team pp stall options.
Then I needed a bulky Defogger and a grass resist so I decided to add Mandibuzz. Its ability to remove items with Knock Off is very useful to remove Leftovers from mons like Swampert or Forretress so that they lose their only way of recovering. The pressure it applies to physical attackers with Foul Play is also very interesting.
Then I decided to add Quagsire because the team had a big electric weakness and since Alomomola is pretty passive, an Unaware wall is required to handle mons like Bulk Up Buzzwole or SD Scizor and I also needed an answer to CM Raikou so Quagsire fits perfectly.
Then I had Clefable and Crobat but Clefable moved up to OU so I replaced it for Steelix-Mega because I needed a counter for Xurkitree, Haxxorus and Togekiss and a stealth rock setter. The fact that Steelix holds a mega stone also offers the team a switch-in to trick and knock off.
Finally, I decided to add Mantine because I really wanted another Defogger and I couldn't keep Crobat because I had a Suicune weakness. Furthemore, Mantine can switch on NP Infernape and NP Lucario which otherwise destroy me. Water Absorb is also great for the rain match-up.
The sets :
Alomomola @
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Wish
- Protect
I gave it the rocky helmet to get off chip damages on U-Turn mons so that they can't spam it freely while allowing it to punish Sharpedo from spamming Crunch. Alomomola is bulky enough to avoid the 2HKO from the main threats of the metagame and has regenerator recovery so it can deal without Leftovers anyway. The EVs are made to avoid the 2HKO from CB Bewear and CB Crawdaunt. The rest is given in Speed to creep Jellicent.
Blissey @
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 SpD
Calm Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
32 SpD EVs alongside a Calm nature allows it to survive Xurkitree's Gigavolt Havoc at +3 100%, to switch on Torrent Specs Primarina and on Specs Kingdra after rocks. The rest is given in defense so it isn't too weak to physical moves.
Mandibuzz @
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Roost
- Foul Play
I made it max HP max SpD in order to leave +2 Venusaur while tanking NP Celebi, Chandelure and Hoopa better. Foul Play is the only way of dealing with SD Mega-Sceptile while also helping with Gliscor, Work Up Pidgeot and Haxorus.
Quagsire @
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
- Curse
Running 252/252+ is nice as it lets it take Crawdaunt's hits better and it doesn't need SpD anyway. Running Curse over Toxic is required to tank LO SD Crawdaunt, Mega-Sharpedo, LO SD Terrakion and to beat SD Gliscord way more easily. Furthermore, Curse Quagsire has a very good match-up versus Offense and HO, sometimes you just need to get rid of one or two problematic mons and then Quagsire can just seat and sweep (the replays vs Bob the Bro and Sacri show it pretty well).
Steelix @
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Rest
Rest is there to give Steelix recovery and pp stall option (during the 2 turns of sleep), Sleep Talk is not needed thanks to Alomomola's Wish Support and Blissey's Heal Bell support. Running Max HP max SpD allows it to take +3 Grass Knot Xurkitree 95,7% of the time and to take better CM Latias, Work Up Refresh Pidgeot and NP Togekiss.
Mantine @
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Defog
- Roost
- Haze / Toxic
Nothing really to say about it, it's the classic set. You can run Toxic if you prefer, I prefer Haze just to be safe with Suicune, NP Infernape and NP Lucario and to stop SD SR Cobalion but Toxic is great to annoy stealth rock setters like Swampert and to punish pressure users if they want to switch predicting defog and to avoid being passive against opposing Mantine, Volcanion and Alomomola.
Thank you for reading this, I hope you'll have a great time using this team and if you have any suggestions leave it below, I'll give my opinion.
Lastly, I would like to give a shout out to my boy Tanguy-chan and my boy Max who helped me with grammar.

Vs Bob the Bro - Quagsire Sweep
This battle doesn't show at all how stall is broken, it just shows how Bob choked by trying to sweep too early with Latias and by playing badly with Chandelure which led Quagsire set up freely.
Vs Coastal Grooves - Match-up vs Rain
If you manage to keep hazards away from the field and keep Blissey, Alomomola and Quagsire always healthy, you can deal with rain teams.
Vs Sacri - Quagsire Sweep
Don't be afraid to make plays when you're sure it will work, especially if it opens you a door for Quagsire.
