BSS Dual Screens Dragapult

[SET]
name: Dual Screens
move 1: Reflect
move 2: Light Screen
move 3: Curse
move 4: Shadow Ball / Dragon Darts / Will-O-Wisp
item: Light Clay
ability: Cursed Body / Infiltrator
nature: Timid / Jolly
tera type: Ghost / Dragon
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
*Dragapult's high Speed combined with Reflect and Light Screen make it an effective dual screens lead.

*Curse reduces Dragapult's HP to get it off the field quickly once it has set up screens. It also forces opponents to use recovery moves or switch out, allowing Dragapult's teammates to get in and set up safely. Curse is Dragapult’s best option to bypass Substitute, Protect, and Mimikyu.

*Shadow Ball breaks Focus Sash, hits Ghosts like Gholdengo and opposing Dragapult that normally threaten it, and breaks Mimikyu's Disguise. Notably Gholdengo stops Curse with Good as Gold, making Dragapult totally helpless against it if it does not carry Shadow Ball.

*Alternatively, Dragon Darts can be used for more power to make Dragapult more self-sufficient when it has to stay on the field, and breaks Focus Sash as well. Its dual-hit nature makes it bypass most Substitutes.

*Will-O-Wisp can be used to cripple physical attackers. In tandem with Reflect, this can be a potent strategy to allow the next Pokemon to set up nearly risk-free.

Tera Types
========
* **Ghost / Dragon**: Dragapult, as a screens supporter, should not normally Terastallize, but if you are in a bad spot, Ghost and Dragon power up its STAB move of choice.

* **Steel / Fairy**: A defensive typing like Steel can allow Dragapult to survive certain moves like boosted Cloyster's Icicle Spear and boosted Baxcalibur's Glaive Rush and retaliate. Fairy is useful for enemy Infiltrator Dragapult's Dragon Darts. However, Dragapult should rarely Tera, as dual screens are best used to support a different Tera Pokemon.

Items
========
Focus Sash: While Light Clay is standard, Focus Sash nearly guarantees setting at least one screen without having to Terastallize, in the event Dragapult leads off against Choice Scarf users like Gholdengo, Hydreigon, and Meowscarada.

Some of these bullet points are a little more wordy than they need to be, so I’ll help you tighten these up a bit.

*Because of Dragapult's high speed and its access to many different sets, making Dual Screens less obvious on it, it is a good Dual Screens setter in Battle Stadium Singles.

I think here we can remove the middle blurb and re word that end bit a little to something like “dragapult’s high speed in tandem with access to reflect and light screen make it a potent dual screens lead.”

For curse, it’s worth noting the utility of the chip damage, rather than the fact that it exists. Forcing mons into switching out or burning recovery PP, which allows dragapult’s teammates to get in and set up safely. Curse is also dragapult’s best option to bypass substitutes, protect and Mimikyu, since curse ignores disguise.

I don’t think Dragon Tail should be slashed in, as curse effectively does what it would be doing, but without the negative priority, alongside other tangible benefits, such as Dragapult removing itself from the field to allow a setup sweeper free entry. Instead, slash in Dragon Darts, as this will allow Dragapult to break sashes and generally be a more self sufficient mon in the event it has to stay on the field, the dual hit nature also means it can effectively bypass substitutes against most mons.

Another mention for the last move should be Will-o-Wisp, as the crippling of physical attackers in tandem with reflect can be a potent strategy to allow for nearly risk less setup.

For items, while light clay is the standard and I do agree with that, focus sash can also be mentioned, this allows Dragapult to set up at least one screen nearly guaranteed, in the event it leads off against a choice scarfer such as Meowscarada or Gholdengo, without burning its teams tera.

I don’t think infiltrator needs to be mentioned, at least not with dragon tail, as I said earlier, however there is value in being able to burn or shadow ball something like Mimikyu even if it’s hiding behind a sub. Though considering this set is intended to be a lead, it ideally shouldn’t be facing things that have a substitute up.

An extra detail I think should probably be added, is that while you mention Shadow Ball for Gholdengo, its especially useful for it because Gholdengo's ability totally stops Curse, meaning any Dragapult without Shadow Ball is totally helpless against it!

I do agree that Dragon Tail isn't particularly worth it on this set. Very few Pokemon will dare set up a Substitute against Dragapult, and Dragapult really needs to take advantage of its fantastic speed tier.

Since we’re only having cursed body as the recommended ability, you can just remove the abilities section to reduce clutter. This looks good otherwise!

Shadow Ball may hit mirrors...but darts hits them harder. I'd remove the part about shadow ball hitting opposing pults and put it with darts. looks good otherwise! EVs can't be tweaked, you need HP and Spe tie

*Dragapult's high Speed combined with access to Reflect and Light Screen make it an effective dual screens lead.

*Curse is excellent because it can be used to reduce reduces Dragapult's HP and to get it off the field quickly once it has set up screens. The massive chip damage it deals is also good for making opponents burn recovery PP or forcing them to switch out It also forces opponets to use recovery moves or switch out, allowing Dragapult's teammates to get in and set up safely. Curse is Dragapult’s best option to bypass Substitutes, Protect Substitute, Protect, and Mimikyu.

*Shadow Ball breaks Focus Sashes, allows Dragapult to hit hits Ghosts like Gholdengo and opposing Dragapult who that normally threaten it, and breaks Mimikyu's Disguise. Notably Gholdengo stops Curse with Good as Gold, making Dragapult totally helpless against it if it does not carry Shadow Ball.

*Alternatively, Dragon Darts can be used for more power to make Dragapult more self-sufficient when it has to stay on the field, and breaks Sashes Focus Sash as well. Its dual-hit hyphen nature makes it bypass most Substitutes.

*Will-O-Wisp can be used to cripple physical attackers. In tandem with Reflect, this can be a potent strategy to allow the next Pokemon to set up nearly risk-free.

Tera Types
========
* **Ghost / Dragon**: should have spaces around the /, same with Steel / Fairy Dragapult, as a screens supporter, should not normally Terastallize, but if you are in a bad spot, Ghost allows Shadow Ball to hit harder, while Dragon allows Dragon Darts to hit harder and Dragon power up its STAB move of choice.

* **Steel / Fairy**: A defensive typing like Steel can allow Dragapult to survive certain moves like boosted Cloyster's Shell Smash surely you mean an attack here? and boosted Baxcalibur's Glaive Rush and retaliate. Fairy is useful for enemy Infiltrator Dragapult's Dragon Darts. However, you should be very conservative with your use of Terastallization on this Pokemon Dragapult should rarely Tera, as dual screens are best used to support a different Tera Pokemon.
