Yo, this is my first SS OU team (and my first team that I'll also be building on my game card). Special thanks to the forum user Monsoon117 who suggested Seismitoad and Conkeldurr as potential team members.
This is also my first RMT, so be gentle with my formatting/descriptions.
Polteageist @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Giga Drain
- Stored Power
- Shell Smash
This set is a great lategame sweeper. Once Dark-types and sand/rain setters are gone, Polteageist can start wiping the floor. It can even set it's own Psychic Terrain with Max Mindstream to prevent getting priority revenge killed by the likes of Shadow Sneak Aegislash. Sash allows Polteageist to almost always get a Shell Smash off, sometimes getting Weak Armor boosts in process.
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Defog
- Taunt
- Roost
Pretty standard bulky Defog set. Corviknight is mainly used in this team to remove hazards and to PP stall mons like Ferrothorn. Body Press threatens Excadrill and the like better than Brave Bird and doesn't cause recoil for better survivability. Leftovers make Corviknight's survivability and stalling potential even better.
Grimmsnarl @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Spirit Break
- Thunder Wave
Prankster 8 turn Reflect and Light Screen allow this team to switch in to its sweepers much better. Thunder Wave can cripple non-Dark-type sweepers if they come in to Grimmsnarl to set up. Spirit Break is consistent STAB that annoys special attackers and weakens Dark- and Dragon-types.
Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Toxic
This Seismitoad is a physically bulky Rocks setter. Earthquake and Scald are solid STAB moves and Toxic is here to put mons like Rotom-W on a timer. Water Absorb makes this set a solid check against the common rain team threats like Barraskewda and Dracovish. Leftovers are used to provide slight sustain.
Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Poison Jab
Conkeldurr deals with the Dark-types Polteageist has issues with and is really bulky on both fronts with AV. Drain Punch is reliable STAB and gives at least some sustain, Mach Punch gives the team some priority and Poison Jab and Ice Punch give coverage to dent Fairy-types and Dragapult if they switch into me. The EV spread is most likely not optimal, since I just put what the teambuilder recommended.
Gyarados @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Power Whip
- Bounce
- Waterfall
Gyarados is my physical sweeper option, and works fantastically with dual screens. After screens are set up, Gyarados is often enough free to just switch in and either setup Dragon Dance or just immediately Dynamax and start sweeping with Max Airstream. The set itself is the basic sweeper set that everyone playing SS OU should already be familiar with. Boots make switching Gyarados in after setting up screens a simpler task.
