ORAS OU Dual Weather Sand/Sun Team

Hello! I started to find a team idea who can be fun to play and who can set a weather since i hate rain team (i always lose against them x.x), after some searching mega charizard-y came immediatly as a sun setter and i saw people who played it with tyranitar and excadrill and i loved this idea of 2 weathers so far so i tried to build a team around them :

The team:

tyranitar.gif

Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Flamethrower
- Stealth Rock

So i started with ttar as a sand setter (i never played this guy until now),for the ev i have taken the standard spread, smooth rock is here for have extra turn of sand for excadrill.
It's my stealth rock setter too while pursuit is here for trap leads i can beat with ttar when i predict they'll switch, stone edge is for the stab and a way for dealing with talonflame and flying types, stealth rock because it's my rocks setter (lol) and for the last slot i hesitated so much between ice beam and flamethrower (i hate the accuracy of fire blast), afters some testings i felt flamethrower was better to dealing staller switch in like ferrothorn or some steel who can annoy ttar (scizor magnezone etc) since ice beam was in my mind for landorus-t / garchomp but for those two i didn't have too much problem with my others teammates for dealing with them.

excadrill.gif

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

Well there is a ttar so obviously there is a sand rush excadrill, for ev it's standard all ev in spe and atk for be fast and deal good damage with adamant nature (i hesitated to put a jolly nature but under the sand it's better to have adamant nature for extra power), it's my fairy counter and steels who don't wear an air balloon , earthquake and iron head are the stabs attacks while rock slide is here to beat talonflame when i'm under the sand (i know if there is no sand, i'm being destroyed against talonflame), and rapid spin here for remove hazard for mega zard y (i tried swords dance but i don't like setup move since i don't know how to setup very well x.x) and rapid spin allow me to make my latias teammate more offensive.

charizard-mega-y.gif

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Roost

Mega zard y is here for be a good wallbreaker and for set the sun when the sand can help my opponent if he has the exca ttar core, for ev all in speed and spa with timid nature to ensure at least playing the speed tie others 100 spe, flamethrower is here for stab over fireblast because as i said earlier i hate the non- 100% accuracy (with the power increasing with sun it hit very hard), solar beam is here because it need only one turn to charge under the sun and for dealing with bulky water mons (rotom-w, slowbro etc) as well as giving better damage on rocks types (mega diancie on the switch ttar etc), roost is for recovering stealth rock damage and take less damage on electric attacks, and for the last attack i chose earthquake over focus blast because 70% accuracy is too low and i hate to play the luck for beating opponent tyranitar for the example, eq hit heatran decently who can be a problem sometimes.

---

So after this trio i started to search others pokemon for have the s/f/d core and f/w/g core (i wlays build my team with these cores lol)

I needed a mon who can resist or both fightings attacks aimed for ttar and excadrill while mega zard y resist itself from fighting attacks, and i felt i need a priority move, then azumarill came in mind immediatly:

azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Knock Off
- Play Rough

For ev, no explanations are needed i think all in hp and atk with adamant nature for hitting as hard as possible when i'm putted 8 in spe to outspeed other azu, aqua jet and play roughs are here for stabs and dealing with landorus-therian or revenkilling weakened mons, and for the two others attacks i chose superpower and knock off, superpower for steels switch such as ferrothorn who take 50% minimum with choice band and knock off on the switch since it's a good choice when i predict my opponent switch and for knock out the eviolite from chansey since it's hard to deal with it x.x.
I know you'll say "why you don't play waterfall?" , i don't like the idea to have 2 stabs attacks and since azu is slow, i prefer to use aqua jet who is boosted with choice band and have a free slot for a coverage move, maybe u'll think it's weird but i alwais played without waterfall and it worked really well for me..

-----

So now i have a fire/water core, i needed a stallbreaker for dealing with stallers who are annoying (chansey for example) and who has thunder wave/glare for have a speed help for allow mega charizard y to outspeed things who are faster than it, i tried at this slot thundurus with thunder wave taunt volt switch and hp ice,it worked quite well but it is weak to rocks and i had no resistances for electrics /ground/water except latios, and i wanted to have a f/w/g core, serperior was chosen for this role:

serperior.gif

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Glare

Serperior has a great 113 speed, it's the first reason i chose it, for ev 252 HP 252 speed to act as a fast support mon and be able to take one hit that is not stabbled like heat wave from zapdos etc.
It's my support poke with taunt for stallers, knock off to put off eviolite from chansey and since it's useful to knock out chocie scarf user like landorus-t,glare is here for paralysing oppoent pokemons (and so good since you can pralyse ground type with glare), and leaf storm is for stab since with contrary it double his spa stat ..
Leftovers is here for have a passive healing.
So it complete the fwg core

----

After these five pokemons, i have a f/wg core and a steel/fairy core, so i need a reliable counter/check for keldeo/mega loppuny who completely beat tyranitar/excadrill for sure, and of course who is a dragon, latios hello:

latios.gif

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Surf

Latios act here as a "lure" defogger, it's an all-out attacker with draco meteor and psychock for stab (and psychocks hit sylveon chansey harder than psychic), and for the last attacks surf is here for the heatran/landorus switch-in
while it deal decent damage to others steels who resist to draco meteor and psyshock, thunderbolt is here for water and flying types like starmie azumarill slowbro ..
For 252 ev spe and 252 spa with timid nature for be fast and hit hard .

Here is my team, i have problems against dragon/ground type such as garchomp or scarf landorus t since it resists all of attacks from tyranitar and excadrill, beat mega zard y and weak a lot serperior and latios with u-turn, my only reliable answer for it is azumarill or surf latios on the switch.

I reached the 1506 maximum ladder but i'm now at 1369 lol, i enjoy to play this team a lot even if i lose so it's why i'd like some advices for this team and why not changing some attacks like ice beam >flamethrower on ttar or ice beam > tbolt on latios i don't really know :/.

And sorry for my bad english i'm french lol.

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Flamethrower
- Stealth Rock

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Roost

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Glare

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Knock Off
- Play Rough

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Surf

Ehy man nice team :)
I really like double Water core, and the team is pretty solid but I think that are things to improve. The first problem of this team is Lopunny because you haven't switch in for it. Your only mode to win against it is with Azumarill revegekill but need some damage. Bisharp is another weakness for this team, you haven't Switch-In to it you can revegekill it with Azumarill but isn't good matchup. Tornadus and Diancie are relatively problem but you can check it with Excadrill Azumarill and Tyranitar.

The first suggest to improve this team is to try Garchomp > Latios . You don't really need to Latios in this team, you have Excadrill that takes off the hazard and Serperior that gives you a switch in for things like Rotom-W and for bulky water for this reason latios is unnecessary. Garchomp helps you against Lopunny and Medicham, improve your matchup against other Sand Teams and gives you a switch in to Pinsir and Talonflame . I think that Fire Blast is good choice because improve your matchup against Scizor and Ferrothorn but second my opinion Rest is the best option because improve the garchomp longevity, that is more important because garchomp is your only check for things like Pinsir and Bisharp/Excadrill. Also this is a double water you don't need a Smooth Rock on Tyranitar because Excadrill haven't a Sword Dance and this is a double water team, you need to switch a lot. My suggest is to try Band Tyranitar that allows you to pressure Stall Build especially Chansey that stop Charizard, also CB Tyranitar allows you to pressure Defensive Heatran that stop the Serperior sweep. Scarf isn't a bad option because gives you a good revegekill for Pinsir that is really annoying for this build.
Also Azumarill need 84 EVs in Speed because allows Azumarill to outpace uninvested base 60 Speed Pokemon such a Clefable. Superpower + Knock Off is really bad option, Azumarill need the Warer Stab in many chances. Honestly I think that in this team Assault Vest is the best option because Serperior don't really check it really wall and one check for this pokemon that is more used is bad. Also I think that Venusaur > Serperior in this team, you don't have a check for Azumarill that destroy this team, Venusaur really work in Sun Build and gives you a good revegekiller.

The team isn't perfect and has some problem: the first problem is Ice Punch Lopunny, garchomp is your only Lopunny check and if it has Ice Punch is hard to kill, your only mode to kill it is with Azumarill Aqua Jet but is hard. A second problem is Pinsir, your only check for it is Garchomp but isn't really safe switch-in Scarf Tyranitar is sn option to check it. Last annoying pokemon for this team is Tornadus: you haven't really safe switch in against it, tyranitar can check it but Tornadus in more time have Superpower and if hasn't it can take off the Momentum with U-turn. Excadrill and Azumarill can revegekill it but aren't a safe switch in.
Set Complete:
Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 240 HP / 176 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Rest

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Stun Spore
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Fire

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 100 HP / 252 Atk / 156 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
Hope I help :3

Hello Astral ty for the long rating comment! Sorry i waited until now to answer you because i saw you edited your posts sometimes ^^.

As you said mega lopunny with ice punch mega medicham mega pinsir are huge threats for this team, and thought about klefki but it will be useless if i run defog on latios, for excadrill yes i was thinking to re-play swords dance since scarf landorus is another huge threat, i'll test the second choice because i like it first lol but instead of slowbro, rotom wash could be replacing slowbro or not? You maked really nice ideas like spore breloom and stun spore venusaur, i really enjoy your help and your suggestions even if i'm not really fan of tank chomp on this team but in understand it is necessary for handle as much as threat as possible.

I'll test both of your suggestions, and for last thing, scarf keldeo could fit on this team you think? But it will add me another weakness to fighting mons named mega medicham/gallade breloom etc so i don't think it is good, it's just an idea who came in mind like klefki .

Rotom is nice but Slowbro is mandatory choice because Rotom don't really switch on Lopunny really well. But rotom can helps against Tornadus T and you have breloom match punch that helps against lopunny. Boh you cwn try it
