Hey smogon, it's Bayaxa. Today i have a new RMT for you. I was really feeling Mega Medicham and wanted to build my own team around it and I did. The nicknames are just top hits in music at the moment. I hope you enjoy. (:

Medicham has always been one of my favorite mons since I started playing pokemon. It's raw power was so tempting and I fell in love with it, so with the recent spike in Medicham usage I decided to make my own team around Mega Medicham. I started with the core of Mega Medicham and Tyranitar. This is a good offensive core because they can both hit what the other can't and Tyranitar traps problematic mons like Lati@s and Gengar and other ghost types that medicham loses to.

Next I needed 2 good defensive pivots since I planned to make this team a balanced team. Rotom-W fits here great because it switches in on flying types and Volt Switches out to gain momentum and bring Medicham in when there is an opportunity. Amoonguss is also great because it switches in on dreaded fairy types and puts something to sleep. It also has the great ability Regenerator which gives Amoonguss amazing longevity.

At this moment I realized I only have 2 spots left and lack 4 things this team needs; A stallbreaker, a wincon, a stealth rocker, and a form of hazard removal. What came to mind immediately was Bulk Up Taunt Talonflame because not only does it function as a much needed stall breaker, but it also functions as a wincon with Bulk Up.

Now I only had one spot and I needed a way to get rocks up and a form of Hazard Removal. One of the few mons that I feel can actually fit this role with success is skarmory.

Now the team is complete and I felt that it had great synergy offensively and defensively.

The Team

One Dance (Medicham) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Fake Out
- Bullet Punch/Thunder Punch

Medicham was one of the first mons I used In competitive pokemon and with the resurgence of Mega Medicham I was feeling nostalgic so I decided to Make a my own team around it. Mega Medicham is just a powerhouse. It just does massive damage to everything and 2hko's mons that shouldn't be. I run Adamant because I like the extra damage and also because Adamant Medicham 2hko's Clefable where as Jolly doesn't. I also don't find Jolly necessary on this team because the things you usually bring Mega Medicham on don't outspeed Adamant Medicham anyways. HJK is mandatory stab and does crazy damage. Ice Punch is mandatory on this team because if you don't run it this team gets smashed by SD Gliscor because I'd have to hit 4-5 Hydro Pumps in a row from Rotom to kill Gliscor and that isn't reliable. Bullet Punch is to pick off weakened foes and to help with the Diancie match up. Thunder punch is only for Slowbro and Jellicent but I have an Amoonguss so i don't find Thunder punch all that necessary but if Mega Diancie tanks in usage again I would run it.

Wicked (Tyranitar) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Crunch
Tyranitar is an amazing mon. Ttar has incredible attack and a great ability in sandstorm which helps whittle down opponents mons and essentially gives Ttar a free Assualt vest. At first I ran Choice Banded Tyranitar because the damage is ridiculous but then i realized I get 6-0'd by Gengar so i had to switch to scarf which I never feel was a better fit for this team even if it wasn't weak to gengar. Stone Edge is the main stab move because of the high base power and it kills birds. Pursuit is by far the most Important move on this mon because it traps problematic mons allowing Medicham to freely HJK when it comes it. Superpower is coverage that allows me to kill Bisharp, Heatran, and opposing Tyranitar's. I've also killed some unsuspecting Mega Loppunys with it as well because they figure i'm going to switch out and decide not to Fake Out on their mega Evolution. Crunch is just secondary stab.

UberEverywhere (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split/Thunder Wave
Rotom Wash is Arguably the best pivot in the game. Rotom switches in on a lot of mons Medicham would die to, mainly birds. Volt Switch is for momentum and to switch in Medicham. Hydro pump is just stab that does good damage. Will-O-Wisp is to cripple physical attackers and to whittle away at mons. I would love to run dual status Rotom because i think its really good but Unfortunately with all the switching Rotom does it needs a source of recovery therefore I find Pain Split a mandatory.

Pillowtalk Zz (Amoonguss) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 244 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Clear Smog
- Sludge Bomb/HP Fire/Stun Spore
Amoonguss is another fantastic pivot. With the ability regenerator and pretty decent bulk Amoonguss can keep switching in on mons throughout the game. Spore is there to put things to bed. Giga is to hit waters and to regen health a bit. Clear Smog is for when things try to set up and sweep and since I lack Whirlwind on Skarmory. I like Sludge Bomb in the final spot because if i don't run it I don't have ways to damage clef all that much besides talon and it also murders Serperior. 8 speed is to speed creep Slowbro.

Low Life (Talonflame) @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Bulk Up
- Taunt
Special Defensive Talonflame is a fantastic answer to stall and an amazing set up sweeper. Talonflame loves switching in on Clefable( when you know they won't T-Wave) and Taunt and start bulking up. I like the Leftovers Brave Bird combo better than the Acrobatics no Item due to the extra passive recovery. Roost is a mandatory since we will be trying to set up sweep. Taunt is for stall.

Planez (Skarmory) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Brave Bird
- Stealth Rock
Skarmory does a fantastic job of switching in on physical attackers with a whopping defense stat and then setting up a SR of Defoging. Brave bird because it hits medicham and loppuny and does more damage than any other move skarmory can learn. Roost is something you need for Skarmory or it will just get worn down to easily. I like Rocky Helmet over leftovers to get the extra damage on U-Turners. Rocky Helmet+Stealth Rock Damage adds up quickly.

472.png
Gliscor is extremely annoying for this team if it has SD. If Medicham dies then this thing sweeps. Gliscor can stall out Hydro Pumps from Rotom due to the low accuracy of Hydro Pump and Poison heal.
094.png
If the opponent manages to get rid of Tyranitar than Medicham has to fear Gengar.

530.png
Scarf Drill demolish's this team due to mold breaker. Keep Skarmory alive at all costs.

579.png
151.png
Physically bulky Psychics are extremely annoying to play against because they tank almost everything this team throws at them.

719.png
Mega Diancie hits a lot of the team but is not that hard to play around. Just keep the offensive pressure on and try to prevent the opportunities for diancie to come in.

Thanks for taking your time to read this RMT and i hope you enjoyed it. Enjoy using the team. (:
